Super awesome tour!
One of your best tours. Especially on the lower decks very detailed. I love when you keep telling us where u are it helps us to stay oriented. You did a great job
When dining, do you share a table with strangers or only sit with the people you’re with?
If it's just the family (4 of us usually) we have our own table. When we cruise with a group, we might be at a table for 8 or 10, but with people from our group. Haven't really eaten with "strangers" in a few years.
We hav3 always sat at tables with just us. You can ask to sit with others if the wait is long for a table of the size you need. We’ve never been “forced” to sit with strangers on HAL

I just booked this Xmas gift for my aunt and uncle
I just watched another review of this ship where the guy was very droll and boring and gave a horrid review of this ship. He made no reference to the navigator app which is a really cool new tool. I’ve sailed the Panama Canal on the Neiuw Amsterdam and to Alaska on the Zuiderdam this ship has a lot of the same features but the set up looks great. I’ve not seen the billboard or rolling stone lounges before and the bb king lounge looks great on this ship! Especially that you can see down into it from above.
Right off the bat I could tell you were more engaging in your review. I’m booked to sale April 5 on her and I can’t wait. I’ve never had a bad sail and food and entertainment has always been bang on. Thank you for this, now I’m even more excited for my cruise!

Thank you for the walking tour of the ship it’s very classy, sophisticated and laid-back. Definitely not a party ship! I would say more for enrichment and that’s OK when you start to get older you just wanna relax sometimes!
We sailed to Alaska on Koningsdam in June, our 4th cruise with HAL and we took our kids and grands, too. Suite 5001, just before the bow, with it's wraparound veranda, was amazing for Glacier and wildlife viewing. We're working our way up in mariner status. We loved Koningsdam and the N. Statendam, too.
Hoping for an answer. Im going on this ship to Alaska and I think Im going to be beyond bored. I am not interested in shows, or classes, or the casino, lame loud music, or crowded pools. Other than eating what can I look forward to?
Quality time on the balcony, pools weren't really crowded, the lido area was a great place to relax, chill in the hot tub, great service, afternoon tea time, spa treatments, some piano and classical style music on occasion, ping pong, shuffleboard, pickleball court, sunbathing..you will have a great time!!!

FYI it’s called Dive-In, not The Dive. And it’s the Grand Dutch Cafe, not Dutch Cafe.

Loved the ship tour video except for one thing: the volume of the music. It was too loud and thus was competing with your voice. It was such a relief when you turned it off while you had your cup of coffee. Ahhhh. But, then it started up again-bummer. Please, I just want to listen to you, not some competing music.

Great tour! I’m booked on a Holland America Caribbean cruise in January for my first ever cruise. I’ve been very curious to see what the ship and its layout might be like. I’m handicapped and walk with a cane, so getting around the ship has been a little bit of a concern for me. It doesn’t look too daunting though! I will enjoy every minute!😊

Are any doors that go outside or into seperate public area's automatic? ...for electric wheelchair or scooter.
I seem to remember automatic or easily opened by pressing a button. Lots of accessible friendly areas.

Great video! Thank you! We are sailing on Koningsdam next year and just wondered if there was smoking in the casino? If so, was there a designated area?
Online it states smoking allowed in casino for active players, but I don't recall anyone smoking, then again, the casino was usually more empty than full. It doesn't seem to be a hotspot on HAL like it is on other cruise lines.

I went on Holland Amsterdam back in 2021 and did a Princess cruise in 2022 and I must say I enjoyed Holland much better. Nothing was wrong with Princess but, their just was a difference in qualify of food, service, etc... We are planning a Mexican Cruise this year for November and planning to go on the same ship your touring right now. This would be the second Holland Cruise and the second ship trying out. Cannot wait!

We have sailed many days on the Nieuw Amsterdam, a sister ship. Looks the same with the exception of different art work. I like the touch in the elevators where the rugs spell out what day of the week you are on. Thanks for the tour!

Great tour but I had to turn on the CC because your background music was awful. Why have it so loud? Otherwise great job but please consider turning it down or eliminating it.
