We all know she means Marco. It doesn't change her point. This is such a powerful performance, not strange that a person who isn't that into NW is throw off on a few details.
The man who is harmonizing with Floor is Marco Heitala. Thuomas is the genius on the keyboards who is creating all the beautiful symphonic sounds. The whole band are absolute masters of their craft, enhanced by the exceptional voice of Floor Jansen.❤
Only Nightwish (Tuomas) would conceive of a song such as this one. Beyond epic! You caught the melody from Bach's "Toccata en Fugue in D minor" which was followed by 2 riffs from Metallica's "Enter Sandman". This was Tuomas' way of paying tribute to the evolution of music from classical to metal. Genius! Loved it Valerie. Be well.
Thank you Valerie 🙏❤ for your reaction. I'm a big Nightwish fan from Finland and I was in that concert. It was so amazing. Thank you and greetings from Finland🤘🙋♀️
We were here. Not in person but via the wonderful digital media. I'm glad you chose the Tampere version of the song, Floor is just singing her heart out with her various register vocals like there's no tomorrow. And as this is the show closer, she's had a full day's work of singing to do before. Marco's bass line and the bass sound are something to remember. And the drummer Kai does an extremely crisp drum performance. It's the precision and the drum sound (I can't guess how long it took to get him and the audio engineers to get it satisfactory to him) which captivate me.
Here is a link to part of a TV show. It is a reunion of Floor's class during her education at the then new Rock Academy (1999-2003). The most part is behind the scenes of the Tampere concert: th-cam.com/video/B3NIfu0qvtg/w-d-xo.html
Excellent reaction, do not worry about what some say, although the ending is important, it is not mandatory, far from it, the song speaks for itself ... You are a veteran of the reactions to Nightwish, respect for that!

Really should've watched the outplay, it's really quite spectacular and moving. This was the last song of the night, and their stamina is incredible, Floor's especially..... To be that present and spot on pitch for a song that long.
@@blueeyes1110 Yes, and we get the opportunity to hear Tuomas's name pronounced by his mate, born Finnish speaker... so i believe that is kinda etalon :)
It doesn't matter that you make a mistake. We know what you mean. Just a pity you stopped too early. Nice to see you again. Greetings from the Netherlands and also from Henk Poort.😀🤘
Seeing this through your eyes brings back the feeling I had when I watched this video for the first time. The energy and the power of it. There is nothing like it. Love this band, always and for ever ❤
You should watch the end of the song. Some versions don’t have it, but there is a coda with Richard Dawkins speaking over the musical outdo and the band paying their farewells to the audience. It’s very uplifting. They are not just curtain calls: it’s part of the song.
This was the Tempere Finland concert and they did not have the Richard Dawkins speaking part. I watched to the very end until the credits rolled. No spoken outro. That said, this is such a complex work it's worth another listen. FYI. the Tempere concert was requested by my patron. The Wembley concert did have Richard Dawkins so I may have another listen/reaction to that concert at some point.
@@VocalSplendorStudios Hi Valerie. I think the Tampere version is the best one. Being British, I would be happy to big up Wembley though it’s a rather charmless shed of a venue. Despite this, I’m hoping to see Nightwish there in December. Having Dawkins on stage is a bit of a coup but doesn’t add much in comparison to his voiceover which plays at the end when those crazy kids come out and thank the audience. The end part, in which Dawkins speaks the final lines from Origin of the Species, plays over the credits and it’s also worth waiting for. So yes, I think the full version is the best because it carries on the feeling well after the song itself has ended. Wembley is still good but Tampere is better.
@@VocalSplendorStudios It actually happens toward the end of the credits in the Tampere video, so easy to miss if you don't watch through all the credits to the end. :) No worries though.
Great reaction. The spoken part comes after the credits... but don't stress over missing it. People forget you're a vocal coach and are here to break down the vocals and music. Don't let the snarky and demanding fans discourage you from doing more Nightwish reactions... I love Nightwish, but many of the fans are embarrassingly almost like the Dimash stans.
Thank you! 💕 I've gotten so much flack. My patron requested the Tempere concert. I didn't know about the outro and on that concert they went into the credits with a still background. How was i to know?
Tell me about it. It’s a complete turn off. Not to mention you barely understand a word that is being said towards the end anyway. Is the performance that matters.
Loved your reaction VSS. You were purring like a cat. Also, you ended the reaction a bit early as the song actually continues while the band comes out and meets the crowd. It's very moving as it is the end of a world tour.
Hi Valerie Have a great weekend the ending is one of the best parts of the song and it shows off their love for the fans. It was Floor Marco and Troy doing the growls
@@VocalSplendorStudios Cool 🤘 With the end of this Masterpiece , the Picture is complete. Thanks for your answer. Greetings from from Northern Germany 🌹
Just to add: ther powerful harmonies are not only Floor and Marco - Troy, usually in the background, playing his weird instruments, is also chipping in for the incredible effect.
Yep, i keep saying to reactors - if it's recorded, it's probably still worth seeing/hearing... sometimes by cutting too soon you loose just small "thankyou", sometimes can be even several sentences...
And every one who's listening, especially watching live performance, should do it with lyrics to sink in the message of this masterful song propiately. 😉
In all fairness this is a vocal coach reaction so the scope of the reaction is more focussed (or limited whatever you prefer). Either way I don't see an issue with that.
This version that has the end of Last Ride of the Day in the beginning is missing the last bit of the song. It's a case of the reactor being given the wrong link.
I don't think she cut too soon. There is a version of this performance on TH-cam, which is only 17 minutes long and stops where she left off. And the sound quality is better on this version. Anyway, very good reaction !
If you notice when Tuomas piano playing in the beginning and there was only single notes and 6 notes being hit those 6 notes being played as carbon because 6 is C for carbon, so in the beginning when Tuomas is playing the piano that is basically representing how life first started. And when he started playing those long notes but with the Same 6 notes that means the carbon is growing and forming. Just for consideration there is a lot of relations to life. The fireworks represent the Big Bang etc. i would love to continue about this song and all the details but it’s just so much lol. Also which those multiple fireworks people had theory that a planet was hit by earth and that planet created the moon when the planet hit the earth. So thats why there was multiple fireworks as well
finish composers like jean sibelius and nightwish tuomas holopainen and many mores, have always get they inspirations finish forest and nature with they songs. thanx to great reaction and have happy halloween weekend.
Sorry, but the bassplayer is Marko singing. Tuomas (Metal Mozart) does the keyboards and only sings without a microphone. You didn't fully unpack the present, the video does continue with NW thanking their audience, along with Richard Dawkin's words. \m/e were here.
Actually, first Richard Dawkins speaking from his own book, followed by Charles Darwin's words, although spoken by Richard Dawkins - it is the closing passage from "On The Origin Of Species". Charles Darwin, of course, was the founder of the science in which Richard Dawkins is now at the forefront of - the giant on whose shoulders he stands. So much is missed at the end of this reaction, which summarises the whole concept of not just this song, but the whole album.
Love your reactions. Love this reaction, and I know your a vocal coach, but I believe you should have waited until the end. Especially if you see the version at Wembley stadium. - Wait until the end... ;) -- Thanks though!!!
I only got introduced to Nightwish one month ago and I have never been so emotionally affected by a group as this. I grew up with the likes of Led Zeppelin Deep Purple AC/DC Heart etc but Nightwish and Floor just blows everybody out the water. Nightwish and Floor Jansen is the marriage made in acoustical heaven ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Knew you'd love this one! Endless Forms Most Beautiful, (Darwin). Floors 1st Nightwish album. Piano and fireworks! The Greatest Show on Earth, Richard Dawkins, intro. Floor as the serious, low monotone narrator. Changing to another of her voices. Roaring of big cats, screams of Chimps, then Troy joins in! Marco growling and Floor too, just after her soft siren bit. Emppu with “Enter Sandman”. "Will you sing with us?" “WE WERE HERE!” What a team they are! Not forgetting “Crewish” And the Special Effects Team.
"Tampere, Tampere, the Cradle of Civilization". And the End of music Evolution. 😅👍 (and you missed the emotional ending 😢, but fortunately Floor's parents were there at the first time in NW show)
Loved your reactiion, shame you missed all of the ending of this song and the concert. I am not sure if you noticed that Troy who played the pipes, was also singing backup vocals with Marco (bassist) and Floor. That probably added some extra texture for your ears. Troy and Floor were doing the gutteral grunting. It is more visible in the Wembley version. The production team for Nightwish are phenomenal at everything they do. aka Crewish. The backing track includes Symphony instruments and Choir voices and other sounds. It is composed of about 600 tracks for this song, mixed down to about 250 tracks for the stage sound system backing track music. They coordinate on stage with a click track with the backing music. Tuomas (keyboardist) is the controlling mastermind on and off stage.
I reacted to the Tempere, Finland concert as a request from my patron. This concert did not have the spoken word outro. I watched to the very end until the credits. I may have a listen/reaction to the Wembley concert to see the full effect since everyones talking about it everywhere. Thank you for commenting about the production and details of their mastery.
@@VocalSplendorStudios Thanks for your feedback. This show is a great version of this song. The final spoken outro for the Tampere show is actually done during the credits for the DVD. At the Wembley show there are no fireworks, but the outro speech was done live on stage by Dawkins after the end of the song, and musical outro during the band bow to the audience. The Wembley version of this song was my first intro to Nightwish, so it is a little bit more special for me.

Just for now, it is my duty to introduce you to some info about the lyrics. Lyrics are in " " [Part 1: Four point Six] "Archaean horizon, The first sunrise" Earth's history is divided into four principal Eons: the Hadean, the Archean, Proterozoic, and the Phanerozoic. The Hadean is the Eon during which the Earth and Moon formed; in the Archaean, primordial life appeared. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Earth "On a pristine gaea" Gaia is the primordial Greek goddess of the Earth. More recently, the Gaia hypothesis is a recognition of the living and nonliving Earth systems which form an interdependent whole. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia "Opus perfectum, Somewhere there, us sleeping" Pristine perfection (of silence, of a blank page, of the very point from which the big bang itself sprung) implies a rich creative potential. Here Earth is painted in the same powerful way. Diversity awaits; unborn beings are sleeping the same sleep to which they will return at death. This interpretation is thematically linked with the album's opening track, "Shudder before the Beautiful," which includes the lyrics, "The music of this awe, Deep silence between the notes, Deafens me with endless love." Or as the furious hobbit screamed at the novice trumpeter, "An artist respects the silence, it serves as the foundation of creativity." [Part 2: Life] "The cosmic law of gravity Pulled the newborns around a fire, A careless cold infinity in every vast direction. Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone" Gravity pulls Earth and the other planets around the energizing Sun in an otherwise inhospitable universe. Earth is the only planet in our solar system's circumstellar habitable zone, orbiting at the "just right, not too hot, not too cold" distance from the Sun. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumstellar_habitable_zone "She has a tale to tell, From the stellar nursery into a carbon feast, Enter LUCA" In astronomy, stellar nurseries are the birthplaces of stars: they nurse stars Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_formation#Stellar_nurseries Poetically, our solar system is another "stellar nursery," in which a star is the nurse, caring for and warming a planet of 'newborns,' early carbon-based life. "Feast" evokes the incorporation of plentiful chemical building blocks into rudimentary life forms. "LUCA" stands for "Last universal common ancestor," the one single organism from which all other presently existing life on Earth descended. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_universal_ancestor "The tapestry of chemistry is a writing in the garden, Leading us to the mother of all" The periodic table of elements does look like a sort of patchwork tapestry, but this can go further. The historical function of tapestries was as "nomadic murals," pictographical histories which moving people could pack up and revisit wherever they went. The "writing in the garden," in nature, is not only the stone murals left by dead animals in the form of fossils, but is also this chemical writing that encodes the relatively nomadic DNA molecule with the instructions for life. The scientific investigation of this information leads us back to LUCA, and further. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapestry#Function "We are one, We are a universe," This is the natural conclusion to draw from the fact that life shares common origin, that all life is built with the same blocks, and that all life on Earth is interdependent (gaia hypothesis). The multiplicity of beings on Earth are one, just as the cells in a body are one. "Forebears of what will be Scions of the Devonian sea." The Devonian geologic time period marked the first significant, rapid diversification of life (and the more well-known Cambrian explosion is another of these 'adaptive radiation' events). It was during the Devonian that the 'higher plants' appeared and blanketed the continents with forests. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devonian . The word "scion" refers to a shoot of a plant cut for grafting, and is also used to denote a descendent of a notable family. Both meanings apply. "Aeons pass, Writing the tale of us all. A day-to-day new opening For the greatest show on Earth" Evolutionary adaptation is written in the DNA and as fossils in the rocks, and is ongoing. Species die, diversifiy and delineate. Every day is different, every day something changes. "Ion channels welcoming the outside world To the stuff of stars" Ion channels are found in the membranes of all cells, controlling the flow of energy through the cells. The stuff of stars is all the physical matter we're made of. So it's the ion channels, guiding enery, which allow living bodies to interact with the rest of the world by exchanging energy with it. "Stuff of stars" is surely a Sagan reference: "The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff." For fun: th-cam.com/video/XGK84Poeynk/w-d-xo.html "Bedding the tree of a biological holy, Enter life" The bed of a tree is the nutrient-rich soil from which it grows, a soil made of dead things. The "tree of a biological holy" is probably the tree of life en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_of_life_(biology) . This line refers to the "holy" legendary tree of everlasting life but also means the conceptual, branching family tree of all life, whose bed consists of all deceased beings (in a more literal sense), or all extinct ancestral species (in a more abstract sense). This is thematically linked with the song "Alpenglow." "We are here to care for the garden, The wonder of birth Of every form most beautiful" "We" could be human beings tasked with acting as nature's stewards, garden of eden style, but that's not chronological -- human beings haven't quite appeared in the song yet. "We" could instead be all of life itself, in a gaia-philosophy sense, which posits that life creates environments ever more hospitable to more life. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_philosophy Or maybe it's a combination of these two thoughts: life eventually creates an environment suitable for the development of consiously acting, thinking human stewards. [Part 3: The Toolmaker] "After a billion years, The show is still here. Not a single one of your fathers died young." Every single one of a given person's ancestors, male and female, lived past puberty at least. But "fathers" evokes "forefathers," which has a nicer storytelling ring to it than "parents." "The handy travelers Out of Africa Little Lucy of the Afar" Handymen are good with tools; travelers posessing hands rather than forefeet walk upright. Hominids originated in Africa and spread to the rest of the world from there. Lucy is a particular specimen of the Australopithecus, one of many "missing links" between modern humans and nonhuman ancestors. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_(Australopithecus) "Gave birth to fantasy, To idolatry, To self-destructive weaponry. Enter the God of gaps Deep within the past. Atavistic dread of the hunted!" The brain grows, consciousness and creativity along with it. Atavism is the tendency to revert to ancestral type, an evolutionary throwback. Fight-or-flight instincts that helped human ancestors survive have now been creatively projected onto the world to both explain it (origins, meaning, suffering) and gain security in it (bargaining through sacrifice). These are the roots of theism. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atavism "Enter Ionia, the cradle of thought, The architecture of understanding. The human lust to feel so exceptional, To rule the Earth" Nomadic people develop agriculture and settle down into civilizations. The word "architecture" is at once both literal and figurative. The efficiency of civilization graces people with free time to do more than just feed themselves. They develop rich cultural traditions, arts and philosophies, much of which are deeply influenced by how different humans now are from all the rest of life. "Hunger for shiny rocks, For giant mushroom clouds, The will to do as you'd be done by." Shiny rocks are wealth: gold, precious stones, jewels, and later uranium which leads to the nuclear arms race. The golden rule -- "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" -- is a coin with a dark side: "an eye for an eye," revenge. This ensures the "MAD"ness of mutually assured destruction. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_assured_destruction "Enter history, the grand finale. Enter ratkind." "Ratkind" comes from Richard Dawkins' book "The Ancestor's Tale." Dawkins imagines a post-apocalyptic world in which rodents feast on the remnants of humanity (and humanity's garbage). The rat population explodes, and then as they exhaust these resources they turn on one another for food. As a consequence of natural selection, the rats diverge into new carnivorous and herbivorous species, and perhaps, eventually, a specices of rodent whose intelligence rivals that of humans. This is "ratkind." Https://iberianature.com/wildworld/tag/ratkind/ "Man, he took his time in the sun, Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand." From William Blake: "To see a World in a Grain of Sand, And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour." ...And the story of the planet in 24 minutes. Not bad. "He gave birth to poetry, But one day'll cease to be. Greet the last light of the library" A bittersweet redundancy: poetry with library, the last light with ceasing to be. Reminiscent of Elan: "Be the first to greet the morn [...] Travel with great élan, dance a jig at the funeral." "We were here!" Who else is going to vote for this song's inclusion on the next Voyager golden record, if there'll ever be one? I want to beam this song into space forever.
The Bach part is meant to be like the evolution of music, along with the other bits that followed, a Metallica riff and some techno beat (better heard in studio version) Nice reaction!
@@VocalSplendorStudios you will find new details even when you have heard it 20 times - it's that complexed. I would suggest you listen to the Wembley 2015 version also - it's a little different and Richard Dawkins is on stage at the end. You could look up the book by Richard Dawkins "The Greatest Show on Earth" and read the description. The synchronized fireworks are illustrating the colliding comets and asteroids creating our planet Earth.
We all agree she appreciates the composition and lyrics, so that Marko slip up is easily forgotten, no big deal . Only one might be upset for the mistake might be her. But really... if she likes our band , then Oops. No biggie.
I alwyas have liked your reaction videos. On this one, I used my headset for the first time and I noticed a detail which I find a bit disturbing if may say so? Your humming during the intro of the song does not add anything, but I find very distracting. On ap positive side, you are eloquent enough to express your emotions and ideas without having to curse or use 4 letter words. Any thanks for your feedback video. Love you ;-)
Hi Valerie! Cool band! There are no words for delight!Thank you dear, great reaction!Listen to Alice Supronova, who sings in the 4 octave range.Beautiful timbre and strong voice! You will be delighted! Give a link?🌹👍🇷🇺
Like poet and the pendulum, this is a song you should do some research fist and listen to it with subtitles (there are way to many scientific things involved to catch it all with just ears). Also always watch it till the very end. There is a whole part that got missed here, including two of the most famost quotes of Richard Dawkins (a British evolutionary biologist and author). There is another version of this song (the official live version) on the Nightwish channel. Maybe you want to react to this too (I think it has subtitles).
Oh yes, more than a few. ;) This was the Tempere performance. When the credits rolled over a street scene, I thought it was done. I will have to do the Wembley performance to get the full effect!
If you would like to react to a singer with a most unique and amazing voice, listen to Marcelito Pomoy cover The Prayer”;by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. You will not regret it. You have never heard anything like this. He is amazing. He was abandoned, raised himself on the streets from the age of seven. No vocal training....self taught. Enjoy! 👍
Usually I wouldn't bother with a reaction that misses out the end climax of this masterpiece but I enjoy this reactor and we're all allowed to make mistakes (Tuomas - really?). One thing about this song I've never been clear about: when the 'we were here' chant is sang is it referring to our demise as a species because of environmental degradation or our natural demise due to evolution?
Yes, I made a mistake with the names....I filmed this after a long day of teaching. But I reacted to the Tempere, Finland concert as requested by my Patron. This concert did not have the spoken dialogue at the end.
@@VocalSplendorStudios It's not a problem, but all the versions that I've seen do have the spoken dialogue at the end. I'm more interested in what you think is the answer to my question.

Unfortunately you choose the version which cuts off the outro with the Richard Dawkins speaking part which is incredibly emotional and moving. Still a very good reaction.

@Vocal Splendor Studios th-cam.com/video/bQIKHB7W5Ns/w-d-xo.html Here is a link to a Polish band called "Artrosis". Artrosis have been around since 1997. This song is from their 1997 debut album called "Ukryty Wymiar" which is of course the Polish version. The English version of this album was recorded in 1999 under the title "Hidden Dimension". I will definitely go so far as to say that in all likelihood Artrosis influenced Floor Jansen. The lead vocalist is a female whose nickname is "Medeah". Medeah can easily rival Floor Jansen. That is saying a lot to say the least. The music on this album is just a small taste of what Artrosis is actually capable of. I can't wait to see if you react to this band, because if you do you will NOT regret that choice. In my honest opinion I personally believe Artrosis is possibly one of the greatest bands of all time. I hope you give this song a chance. Plus Medeah looks like a goddess in this video. Medeah was only 19 or 20 when the video was released. I think when you hear her vocals you will need a tissue, because her voice will bring tears to your eyes very easily. Oh and Medeah is fantastic with her storytelling in the way she uses her whole body to tell the story of the music being played. I love your uploads and keep up the fantastic work. Have a good day. I hope you will respond, but if not I will be patient.

No, you stopped to soon, no Richard Dawkins talk, so sad you missed the beautiful ending😢 This epic song needs to be researched before reacting and the video with lyrics helps us comprehend its total epic beauty.
Check again, the Tampere show has two Dawkins recorded talks just after the song finishes. They are part 4) The Understanding & 5) Sea-Worn Driftwood at the very end. They are the final 2 parts at Tampere. I've watched at the very least 50 reactions to this version and many of the Wembley version where Richard Dawkins does part 5 live at the end.
Marco was the male vocalist, but we know what you mean. You ended the video too early. You missed the closing music and two spoken stanzas by Richard Dawkins to properly close out the song. In the Wembley version, if you stopped the video prematurely, you'd have missed Richard Dawkins coming out in person to recite passages of his book. The only critique I have is that you check how much longer the video is because you will miss out on portions of the songs. Dawkins' comment about how we won the lottery of birth is one of the most profound statements of the song. Pity it wasn't in your video.
We all know she means Marco. It doesn't change her point. This is such a powerful performance, not strange that a person who isn't that into NW is throw off on a few details.

Really should've watched the outplay, it's really quite spectacular and moving. This was the last song of the night, and their stamina is incredible, Floor's especially..... To be that present and spot on pitch for a song that long.
Floors parents were among the audience. Floor told that she could not look them, to be able to sing 🐻❄
I love Floor Jansen. She is wonderful.
Marco is the bassist and singer. Tuomas is the keyboardist and composer.
funny thing is Marko introduces Tuomuas before he started
@@blueeyes1110 Yes, and we get the opportunity to hear Tuomas's name pronounced by his mate, born Finnish speaker... so i believe that is kinda etalon :)
Yes Tuomas is the Keyborder and som Bad thoungs say he is the Metall Version From Mozart
It doesn't matter that you make a mistake.
We know what you mean.
Just a pity you stopped too early.
Nice to see you again.
Greetings from the Netherlands and also from Henk Poort.😀🤘
Thank You Valerie for doing my request so quickley ....im so glad you enjoyed it so much , I knew you would .
You are so welcome!
You did exactly what you were supposed to: you listened - carefully - and understood 👍🤘🤘
Seeing this through your eyes brings back the feeling I had when I watched this video for the first time. The energy and the power of it. There is nothing like it. Love this band, always and for ever ❤
Hi Valerie, great reaction again . A pity that you missed the end .
Can,t waite to see them in Amsterdam, next month !! 🤘🏼
Just keep hoping.
Hope the government behave in next press conference , till then we
You are the lucky ones, all concerts in Germany are cancelled 😞
Omg FINALLY!! I know what I'm gonna watch after work! ♥
@@VocalSplendorStudios don’t worry. Some people are weird and complain about anything. It’s not even a big deal. Please don’t worry.
Loved your reaction VSS. You were purring like a cat. Also, you ended the reaction a bit early as the song actually continues while the band comes out and meets the crowd. It's very moving as it is the end of a world tour.
"Mhm... Mmm... Mm. Mhm.... Mhhm" 🤟🤩

Hi Valerie Have a great weekend the ending is one of the best parts of the song and it shows off their love for the fans. It was Floor Marco and Troy doing the growls

Mmh, the end? You miss the last part. 😪 There is the deep meaning of this Masterpiece when Richard Dawkins speak. 🤘WE WERE HERE.
I've been told that this video did not have the spoken parts. I did watch to the end, even to the credits. Sounds cool, though.
@@VocalSplendorStudios Cool 🤘 With the end of this Masterpiece , the Picture is complete. Thanks for your answer. Greetings from from Northern Germany 🌹

Oh thank you! I added Tempere in the title now. *sigh*
Thanks great reaction !
Great reaction
Just to add: ther powerful harmonies are not only Floor and Marco - Troy, usually in the background, playing his weird instruments, is also chipping in for the incredible effect.
There is still a last part of the song, even though there is no live singing or playing.

I reacted to another version that did not have the spoken bit. Sounds cool though.
Tampere, Finland good choice 👍
Super 🤘
Marko the bassist n Troy are singing with Floor
A pity the end is missing, with more spoken words by Richard Dawkins while the band is interacting with the audience.
Anyway, very good reaction !
she s otherworldly
- Wait until the end... ;)

What made this show even more special for Floor is both her parents where in the audience.
Stephen Pearcy from RATT had an interesting voice. No one else sounds exactly like him so it could probably make for a good video

Just for now, it is my duty to introduce you to some info about the lyrics.
Lyrics are in " "
[Part 1: Four point Six]
"Archaean horizon, The first sunrise"
Earth's history is divided into four principal Eons: the Hadean, the Archean, Proterozoic, and the Phanerozoic. The Hadean is the Eon during which the Earth and Moon formed; in the Archaean, primordial life appeared. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Earth
"On a pristine gaea"
Gaia is the primordial Greek goddess of the Earth. More recently, the Gaia hypothesis is a recognition of the living and nonliving Earth systems which form an interdependent whole. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia
"Opus perfectum, Somewhere there, us sleeping" Pristine perfection (of silence, of a blank page, of the very point from which the big bang itself sprung) implies a rich creative potential. Here Earth is painted in the same powerful way. Diversity awaits; unborn beings are sleeping the same sleep to which they will return at death. This interpretation is thematically linked with the album's opening track, "Shudder before the Beautiful," which includes the lyrics, "The music of this awe, Deep silence between the notes, Deafens me with endless love." Or as the furious hobbit screamed at the novice trumpeter, "An artist respects the silence, it serves as the foundation of creativity."
[Part 2: Life]
"The cosmic law of gravity Pulled the newborns around a fire, A careless cold infinity in every vast direction. Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone"
Gravity pulls Earth and the other planets around the energizing Sun in an otherwise inhospitable universe. Earth is the only planet in our solar system's circumstellar habitable zone, orbiting at the "just right, not too hot, not too cold" distance from the Sun. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumstellar_habitable_zone
"She has a tale to tell, From the stellar nursery into a carbon feast, Enter LUCA"
In astronomy, stellar nurseries are the birthplaces of stars: they nurse stars Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_formation#Stellar_nurseries
Poetically, our solar system is another "stellar nursery," in which a star is the nurse, caring for and warming a planet of 'newborns,' early carbon-based life. "Feast" evokes the incorporation of plentiful chemical building blocks into rudimentary life forms. "LUCA" stands for "Last universal common ancestor," the one single organism from which all other presently existing life on Earth descended. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_universal_ancestor
"The tapestry of chemistry is a writing in the garden, Leading us to the mother of all"
The periodic table of elements does look like a sort of patchwork tapestry, but this can go further. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapestry#Function
"We are one, We are a universe,"
This is the natural conclusion to draw from the fact that life shares common origin, that all life is built with the same blocks, and that all life on Earth is interdependent (gaia hypothesis). The multiplicity of beings on Earth are one, just as the cells in a body are one.
"Forebears of what will be Scions of the Devonian sea."
The Devonian geologic time period marked the first significant, rapid diversification of life (and the more well-known Cambrian explosion is another of these 'adaptive radiation' events). It was during the Devonian that the 'higher plants' appeared and blanketed the continents with forests. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devonian
. The word "scion" refers to a shoot of a plant cut for grafting, and is also used to denote a descendent of a notable family. Both meanings apply.
"Aeons pass, Writing the tale of us all. A day-to-day new opening For the greatest show on Earth"
Evolutionary adaptation is written in the DNA and as fossils in the rocks, and is ongoing. Species die, diversifiy and delineate. Every day is different, every day something changes.
"Ion channels welcoming the outside world To the stuff of stars"
Ion channels are found in the membranes of all cells, controlling the flow of energy through the cells. We are made of starstuff." For fun: th-cam.com/video/XGK84Poeynk/w-d-xo.html
"Bedding the tree of a biological holy, Enter life"
The bed of a tree is the nutrient-rich soil from which it grows, a soil made of dead things. The "tree of a biological holy" is probably the tree of life en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_of_life_(biology)
. This line refers to the "holy" legendary tree of everlasting life but also means the conceptual, branching family tree of all life, whose bed consists of all deceased beings (in a more literal sense), or all extinct ancestral species (in a more abstract sense). This is thematically linked with the song "Alpenglow."
"We are here to care for the garden, The wonder of birth Of every form most beautiful"
"We" could be human beings tasked with acting as nature's stewards, garden of eden style, but that's not chronological -- human beings haven't quite appeared in the song yet. "We" could instead be all of life itself, in a gaia-philosophy sense, which posits that life creates environments ever more hospitable to more life. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_philosophy
Or maybe it's a combination of these two thoughts: life eventually creates an environment suitable for the development of consiously acting, thinking human stewards.
[Part 3: The Toolmaker]
"After a billion years, The show is still here. Not a single one of your fathers died young."
Every single one of a given person's ancestors, male and female, lived past puberty at least. But "fathers" evokes "forefathers," which has a nicer storytelling ring to it than "parents."
"The handy travelers Out of Africa Little Lucy of the Afar"
Handymen are good with tools; travelers posessing hands rather than forefeet walk upright. Hominids originated in Africa and spread to the rest of the world from there. Lucy is a particular specimen of the Australopithecus, one of many "missing links" between modern humans and nonhuman ancestors.
"Gave birth to fantasy, To idolatry, To self-destructive weaponry. Enter the God of gaps Deep within the past. Atavistic dread of the hunted!"
The brain grows, consciousness and creativity along with it.
"Enter Ionia, the cradle of thought, The architecture of understanding. The human lust to feel so exceptional, To rule the Earth"
Nomadic people develop agriculture and settle down into civilizations. The word "architecture" is at once both literal and figurative. The efficiency of civilization graces people with free time to do more than just feed themselves. They develop rich cultural traditions, arts and philosophies, much of which are deeply influenced by how different humans now are from all the rest of life.
"Hunger for shiny rocks, For giant mushroom clouds, The will to do as you'd be done by."
Shiny rocks are wealth: gold, precious stones, jewels, and later uranium which leads to the nuclear arms race. The golden rule -- "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" -- is a coin with a dark side: "an eye for an eye," revenge. This ensures the "MAD"ness of mutually assured destruction. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_assured_destruction
"Enter history, the grand finale. Enter ratkind."
"Ratkind" comes from Richard Dawkins' book "The Ancestor's Tale." Dawkins imagines a post-apocalyptic world in which rodents feast on the remnants of humanity (and humanity's garbage). The rat population explodes, and then as they exhaust these resources they turn on one another for food. As a consequence of natural selection, the rats diverge into new carnivorous and herbivorous species, and perhaps, eventually, a specices of rodent whose intelligence rivals that of humans. This is "ratkind." Https://iberianature.com/wildworld/tag/ratkind/
"Man, he took his time in the sun, Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand."
From William Blake: "To see a World in a Grain of Sand, And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour." ...And the story of the planet in 24 minutes. Not bad.
"He gave birth to poetry, But one day'll cease to be. Greet the last light of the library"
A bittersweet redundancy: poetry with library, the last light with ceasing to be. Reminiscent of Elan: "Be the first to greet the morn [...] Travel with great élan, dance a jig at the funeral."
"We were here!"
Who else is going to vote for this song's inclusion on the next Voyager golden record, if there'll ever be one?
I want to beam this song into space forever.
The Bach part is meant to be like the evolution of music, along with the other bits that followed, a Metallica riff and some techno beat (better heard in studio version)
Nice reaction!
Thank you. It's so complex. It really needs a second listen.

This version didn't have the Richard Dawkins talk. Sometime later, I will do the other concert that had his speech.

You stopped it before it ended....
This is the Tempere concert in Finland. It did not have the spoken voice at the end!
@@VocalSplendorStudios yeah, i saw you were given the wrong link, which stopped before the music ended
I miss Marco already- and you missed the outro
This version did not have the ending everyone is talking about.
I miss Marco, too! He is so iconic!
✨✨🤯🙌🙏
Marco was the male vocalist, but we know what you mean. You ended the video too early. You missed the closing music and two spoken stanzas by Richard Dawkins to properly close out the song. In the Wembley version, if you stopped the video prematurely, you'd have missed Richard Dawkins coming out in person to recite passages of his book.
The only critique I have is that you check how much longer the video is because you will miss out on portions of the songs. Dawkins' comment about how we won the lottery of birth is one of the most profound statements of the song. Pity it wasn't in your video.
This is the Tempere concert in Finland. It doesn't have Richard Dawkins close out. It sounds cool though. Next time.
You stopped short of classic ending scenes with band. Missing 5 minutes
This version did not include the spoken dialog at the end.
Mmmmm
