Hi there. Great vlog. really like how you compared High end trends and their translation to the High Street and then gave pattern suggestions. I loved the tuxedos at the every end. Particularly the one worn with the huge Cumberband. This was a real vintage vibe which I always here for. I love a bit of dopamine dressing and capes (have about six!). In fact I love the whole range of possibilities for autumn/winter. Will be going down the rabbit hole of the free patterns you've listed. Looking forward to your October vlog.
Thank you so much, Julie! I'm so glad you enjoyed the vlog and found the comparison between high-end and high street trends helpful. The tuxedo with the cumberbund was definitely one of my favorites too-such a timeless, vintage touch! And I love that you're into dopamine dressing and capes-six of them sounds amazing! One can never have too many capes! Enjoy exploring the free patterns, and I can't wait to share more in the October vlog. Thanks again for your support!
You have a great way of interpreting the trends. Last winter I made quilted trousers with two layers of flannel on the inside. While warm and comfy, the elastic waistband is no match for their weight. I'm going to try to use braces/suspenders to keep them up. Thanks for the pattern recs!
@@knotsandneedlescrafts I think you're on to something with the drawstring idea. Thanks! Essentially I'm down to deciding from where will the weight hang; either from the shoulders with suspenders, or from the waist with a drawstring. I think I've given up on elastic, but heartier elastic might work if the waistband wasn't already so bunched.
You do a great job of showing us the trends and how, as garment sewers, we can create on a budget.
I like keeping abreast of the trends, especially now I don't shop on the high street.
Very interesting. Still loving the quilted jacket trend, intend to make another one for this season.
Its been on my list for literal years at this point!

That thought did cross my mind as well. Do you think thicker elastic would work? Or add in a thick drawstring? I love suspenders though!

Ooo where is the skirt from in the examples from flyte patterns? It's cut off at the bottom but I absolutely love it
Ive just had a look and they have changed the original article. My screenshot didn't include the name of the skirt. I am sorry.
