hey icatz! Beautiful place to call home - I love the copper minerals, certainly a favorite of mine. Hopefully I'll get many more opportunities to visit AZ. Good to see you around!
Great to see you back! Still got rocks up here in Northern California waiting for their moment of fame, just gotta come get em! Good luck and safe travels fellow rockhound
Working on that. I am probably going to try 1" thickness slabs and see how stable it is. I'm thinking these may need to be stabilized in epoxy + acetone before tumbling
You're right. After some reading, turns out bears are found down here in "sky islands". Essentially they live in little isolated pockets of mountains, rather than one continuous zone. Pretty interesting stuff actually!
Variscite looks real close, but I believe its an aluminum mineral rather than copper. Would be surprised to find it here. Any other guesses? I'm thinking it's some low grade chrysocolla
Griffin, good to see you back! I live in this state and chrysocolla is found in so many places, cos we have so many defunct copper mines. TFS ❤️🎸🏏

Thank you very much - old mines have a tendency to be in some very picturesque places!

I know you guys have some real good ones in NorCal. Would love to get out there!
Plenty of mountain lions, there. Bears, occasionally. Pretty hike. Thanks!
One of the more scenic places I’ve been to recently. SE Arizona is beautiful
Would love to see what they look like cut. And will the smaller pieces tumble?

Copper poisoning is pretty bad, just letting ya’ll know.
There are bears in the Patagonias.
