You do realize this is just a tape measure with lights on it, right? It can't be used in a swordfight because if you hit anything with it, it will simply bend over (try extending your tape measure and then hitting anything with it). They don't sell it because it can't actually be used as a sword. It's simply an effect.

I dont care if it not cutting anything, but it would be nice when it would be real looking like a lightsaber
Yinz missing the obvious. It’s chunky and it’s Disney. I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s only a one off or very very limited production for select people because it’s real. 😂
Disney needs to sell these or resell rights to the IP for others to make them. We need this!
Check out the inventor called Lanny Smoot, he's the innovator and director of imagineering and created this lightsaber.
Every 80s kid will want one. 1billion in sales
Considering how they "killed" the light-saber in the TV shows and reduced it down to the power of a flashlight, they should focus on improving the quality of their movies and shows rather than a overly priced toy.
Either George Lucas or Mark Hamill should have been the ones to do the honors.
the scale size looks off... there using 2 hands and it still sticks out alot...also it looks thick.. needs more r&d
You probably can't even duel with it which is lame
the blade looks kinda floppy
It’s Disney, so my expectations are rockbottom considering lightsabers.
@@lotusinn3 true, plus im pretty sure theres a pill for that floppy lightsaber, available at most pharmacies
come on its a toy from a movie. If it can cut wood then I would be impressed
If it did that, we never would have seen it. The military would have declared national security and taken it over in a heartbeat.
I always enjoy watching these.
Thanks so much bud, I really appreciate that. 🙏🏻
If it’s an upgraded model (which by length is clearly is), then that puts your theory about filming at SXSW to bed since Josh had a shorter blade at that presentation.

Another non-canon Disney nightmare. It's too expensive for most Star Wars fan to afford, and it's just not that great. The 1999 Hasbro lightsaber is a much better choice for 99% of fans.
if they could slim it down, that would be awesome
Its not that hard to do. You can literally just add an actuated rod inside the blade of an off the shelf walmart saber
that thing is way too big.
No flaws = CGI
That's an odd declaration.
LOOK AT THE GIRTH. God that's ugly. That is probably why its not public yet. They have to get that down to a prop scale and then, not to mention the ignition looked way too slow.
4:01 "it was ridiculous was-months ago" more like years ago especially given you put in a clip of someone wearing covid mask and face shield....
I just went to Disney World on the 14th!
I'm guessing the price will be somewhere between one and six thousand dollars. Just saying, it's disney.
Nice video!

I must have it!!!!
I’m not gonna lie I don’t really care for the Disney lightsabers I’d much rather get Sabres from a better company but this lightsaber I need to get my hands on so if Disney does drop that I’m buying one
Obi dad, oh be quite
to be fair anyone that followed what happened with the star cruiser knows it was hot garbage
Well it looks like the guy wearing a mask with the lightsaber is none other than Charlie Puth!!
Do check and tell.....
maybe EL wire wound up inside?
Shaddup and take my money 💰
Well, you mean the only 2 to have held it in public and been recorded doing so. Others will have held it that you don’t know about.
Also the blade retracts far too slowly to be very realistic.
Also the word is Ridiculous Not Rediculous.
