    Thank you for taking your time to make this video, Mark. It helped me have a better understanding of the job and feel more comfortable with what to expect. I'm on the same page with you about being outdoors and having some freedom compared to being stuck inside of an office. My previous jobs all required me to be constantly moving and deal with all weather conditions, so I know what to expect when it comes to that. Along with having self defense and knowing how to deal with homeowners (and pets) if needed. I had my first phone interview today and will be moving onto the next in a couple days. Once again, thank you!

    I have been a locator in Indiana for almost 7 years. I have actually found out from plenty of contractors that our 811 one call center has been actually encouraging people to call in way more than they actually need...and if contractors don't have an address...they make them call in thousands of feet of footage to be located that the contractor didn't want..or ask for....the 811 call center is screwing us....my advise is...if you show up and something doesn't seem right...call the contractor...they will tell you exactly what they need ...

    I'm going on to the second phone interview tomorrow. I have ample locating experience. Close to 10 years. However most of my experience is with coaxial and fiber. How much different is it locating ComEd, and phone as far as hooking up to them? Of course there were times I was locating all but coaxial due to bleedover. BTW, my name is Joe, couldn't switch users on this PC. Pat is my mothers name. Thanks.

    • @cartoonmark75
      @cartoonmark75  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joe Spagnola good luck Joe. You’ll do fine. Locating should not be that different, maybe you’ll have to pop a manhole or pedistall. Maybe use a lower frequency to prevent bleed-over. Best of luck.
