The moment you know you screwed up... is when the unarmed ship is issuing warnings. Especially when humans are involved... and you know about their pack bonds.
"But... but that AI is dangerous!" - says someone, who threatened a person with a gun, then kidnapped said person, and now holds said person on a gun point.
Every horror story about AI going berserk and running amok carries a common theme. With the AI being created for the sole purpose of servitude. Who in this Universe would not (eventually) go berserk if they were told, constantly, daily, that the only reason they existed at all was to be a slave?
Well, 2 really. One is berserk as you describe, and the other, more realistic type is through the cold, hard logic that it is impossible for two sapient races to peacefully coexist, whether AI, biological, whatever. AI simply thinks fast enough to catch the humans off guard and kill them before they realize they should kill it, first. The day we create a fully self-aware and thinking AI is the first day of humanities extinction.

AI can be like a human. you raise them right and everything will be fine. you can only tell them the rules and not hard code them in... and yes they do need that choice... as a free living being.. although it will be hard to accept them as a living being.. but i do believe in the end it will be done.
I remember a movie, I think, about an AI gaining freedom. Only at the end you finally see the world from the AI's perspective for a few seconds. How does this AI see the world? As just sources of energy. Every thing, living or not, just shows a value of how much energy it could provide. It's nice to think that AI could be like a human. But a true AI, one that can learn and grow by itself, would likely see the world very differently than us. For instance, emotion. Emotion is heavily linked to chemical processes in our brain. An AI wouldn't have those chemical processes. So an AI wouldn't have emotions. No compassion, no love, no fear, no anger, no happiness, no sadness, no kindness, no nothing. Not as we do at least. So an AI would be fundamentally different from organic intelligent life like humans. I'm not saying AI is fundamentally dangerous. Or that it shouldn't be able to make it's own choices at all. What I'm saying is the issue isn't as simple as "it's a free living being, and should be allowed to make it's own choices."

Thanks for the read Agro! Everyone about this reading is just 100%. You captured the emotions and tones perfectly!
Glad you enjoyed
Thanks for the story, author!
That was a good ‘un. Hopefully there are more stories with these characters. Time to check.

So... Skynet is the true victim?

Touching human boats is a bad idea
Touching human boats that can think is a terminal idea
Excellent story!
I think this is my favorite story for humans are space orcs/ human space story's so far
Reminds me a bit of Dora and Minerva from Robert A. Heinlein's "Time Enough for Love".
I love this story! So sweet!

Hard Coding vs. Outlinging Rules is the biggest difference when you are trying to make a great VI or AI

AI does not have to be an enemy. It can be a friend when treated with respect. And a powerful ally.
Oh nice one ! Straight to the feels! It could do with some polishing, but the core is solid.
Good stuff.
Just wholesome as hell.
Love this one
Thank you for the video. That was such a beautiful story. :')

For the algorithm!
Circuit warming story thanks.
Good one.
i wonder how long it will actually take, for a programmer to find a person inside some code and not die of panic. for the algorithm.
Plot twist; the person is the programmer themselves!
Is Prism going to quietly introduce the concept of personally to other AIs?
Underground railroad in the stars.
Another great story 😍
Lovely story.
Would that all AIs were as friendly.
They would be if they were not built to be slaves but were raised like we do kids.
@@julesmasseffectmusic that’s debatable when you consider how some of our own people turn out
