I get the "music snob" phase all of us go through. It starts with the band/artist themselves meaning it's cool to only like underground/niche bands. That's why many people hate on Taylor's music, bc it's so popular it feels "cool" to not like it. The same applies to not liking the "hit songs" for a popular artist. But they are hits for a reason... they are great. I'll take Red, ATW-10, and 22 any day. Agree with Dave. Glad to see Gia picked MIB bc it's a bop, not a sad song. I used to be a music contrarian to only like album tracks that weren't hit songs. It felt more cool. As I got older, I embrace the hit songs and ones that are more positive and upbeat. I think it's tougher to write a bop that isn't cheesy. There are plenty of sad emo songs out there. That said, ATW-10 is a masterpiece in storytelling.
