Just purchased mine S&W 1911 E Series 2 weeks ago and im having problems with the factory magazines & the pistol. It doesn’t want to load when I have the 8th round on the mag so I had to go with 7 rounds. Went ahead and purchased a 10 round Wilson Combat mag and the round gets stuck and I’m not able to load it. Taking it back to the dealer I bought from so they can work on it. Pretty frustrating especially when you spend $1k + on this 1911. Update: problem solved. Sent it to Smith & Wesson for adjustment and bought 2 Wilson Combat 47D magazines, PROBLEM SOLVED. Works perfectly now.
Recommended upgrades and accessories: - Smith Alexander mag well - flat bottomed VZ grips to match the SA magwell - Allen head stainless grip screws - Wilson Bulletproof stainless ambi safety - Dawson .090" wide fiber optic front sight - cerakote the black parts to protect against rust - Blackhawk Sportster or Serpa paddle or belt loop holster - Blackhawk single mag pouches - Strayer Tripp Cobra 8 rd stainless mags
I have one of these and I love it! I did have a problem the first time I took it apart and reassembled it. It was very hard to rack. Gunsmith filed on one of the pins and it was a QA problem.
I purchased 2 Wilson Combat mags for my E Series, same as yours, and it is currently prematurely locking to the rear. It never had that problem with the stock S&W mags.
@@dgunnut6550 It has been frustrating but I think I may have found the issue. I was researching possible causes and stumbled across the Wilson Combat "bulletproof" slide stop and have since ordered one. Many reviews say it solved that same issue for them so I'll see how it works.
Wilson ETM is my go to magazine. I have VZ grips on several Rock Island and Desert Eagle 1911s. I really like them, but the wood grips on the 1911E are just too gorgeous to replace.

That’s the plan. I’m at about 250 right now. Planning a few range trips over the next month so hopefully it won’t take too long to hit 500.

They are gorgeous grips, but I wanted to try out a pair of G10 grips. I went with LOK grips and really like the, so far. Thanks for watching!

Ive shot over 500 rounds in mine and not one not fire no problems at all. I've used cheap loads And high dollar defense rounds without any problems
