I wonder if after her friends passed, Twilight folded in on herself and almost nearly disappeared from Equestria’s public eye. Due to her vanishing after losing her friends, the citizens of Equestria began doubting the longevity and valid need for friendship as if the Princess of friendship couldn’t go on after losing her friends, what normal pony would be able to do better?
That would be very sad. Having so many good friends by your side for so long but then they've all passed away and it's just you left. Could lead to depression.
But we're not talking about pony life we're talking about g5 when the main 6 are gone. Tara strong herself even said To light isn't coming back. But if she was I can see how this would pay out like he's saying.

Why wouldn't the loose trust in Twilight and the entire pony race again distrustful of each other? She probably ignored a mission from the Crystal Map that says reform Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow like Celestia did with Discord. Either she failed or Luster Dawn failed this mission. I'm pretty sure Celestia and Luna once did have friends just like Twilight and her friends. Look at how they handled losing them. I'm not saying you should forget them but to move on and thrive.
I feel as if Twilight was in G5 she would play more of a character to develop along-side the G5 main cast. Almost as if a lost character learning how to understand friendship again after she lost her friends. Almost as a side character with more meaning then what is shown.

It's based off of the SFM animation of the same name by Argodaemon, but the audio drama itself is by Ashley H. It's currently unfinished and on hiatus, but I still really recommend it if this is a possibility that fascinates you :)))

If Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have been living for a thousand years then that would convince me that Twilight, Cadence and Flurry Heart are immortal. Alicorns are deity figures after all right? So it would make sense for them to still be around. Or another possible idea is that this is now some kind of Fallout Equestria scenario.
And Twilight still looks young and is the same size as Celestia while her friends are in their 50s at the end of MLP FIM, so I think that her, Cadance and Flurry Heart are supposed to be immortal too.
No, it's never been said that alicorns are immortal, or that they have long lifespans. These are just fan made ideas. I've heard some say the sisters possess immense magic power that 50 years is equal to 1 for them or something. And Jim Miller said that they gave Twilight their powers over the sun and moon, ah well I'm gonna saw those powers are the real source of immortality or longevity.
Not exactly. Luna and Celestia lived for thousands of years because they were rejuvenated by raising the sun and Moon. Cadance probably retired at the time of Twilight’s rule and passed on the batton to Flurry. Twilight though now raises the sun and Moon so she is rejuvenated herself. Anyway I hope we get an answer to What happened to Equestria.
I think that the physical traits of an alicorn are physical manifestations of magic, and twilight was being kept alive by magic, so she probably passed away soon after equestria lost all magic
You know what this reminds me of? That one Christmas special in G4 that shows how in the past the three types ponies were separated because of distrust. Guess the phrase "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it" is pretty prevalent here.
If Twilight Sparkle HAS to appear in G5, I hope she's used like Aang in The Legend of Korra or even Aang's predecessors in Avatar The Last Airbender. Someone who offers advice and guidance to our heroes.

u forgot the friendship school. knowing twilight, her students would have thought their own students by then to keep harmony alive. In this case, I think the friendship school would become so international that it would be the other species who teach equestrians how friendship is magic again. the main cast learning it from other species
I've been saying it since the begining: They're gonna find Twilight in a cave somewhere and she's gonna be super cynical and she'll have have completly lost her faith in friendship. Also, if Twilight is still around, there's no reason to believe the other 4 alicorns aren't either. I would be curious to see what kind of pony Flurry Heart ends up like.
Maybe Twilight got sealed away somehow, or has just been waiting in that starry rainbow realm Celestia was in when Twilight first got her wings? Maybe she is waiting for the new team to prove themselves, watching them with Celestia's magic spy network, haha.
Perhaps in a moment where she's deepest in her despair, she seals herself in the moon. When Argyle tells Sunny about the Guardians of Harmony and how the magic of friendship used to be in Equestria, Sunny sets out to prove that different kinds of ponies can become friends again, possibly bringing back Twilight and her magic.
It could be that alicorns represent all the tribes living together as friends. But now that they are separated they don’t want alicorns to be their leader.
Sadly, I doubt we will see real twilight. Remember, the staff said that twilight won't outlive her friends when such concerns were brought up to them before.
Just because the staff said it, doesn't make it canon. All of the mane six but Twilight aged to a point that it's obviously seen. At this point, I'm led to believe that she will at least live a fair deal longer.
Dude shes an Alicorn, the kind of being who can rule for a thousand years and seemingly not age at all. To be honest Celestia and Luna could still be around for all we know, same with Discord. Also while.magic may be gone from equestria, it WAS leaking into the human world, Twilight could be over there instead.

I think its established lore that Luna and celestia were always alicorns from elsewhere and came to equestria. It may be that created alicorns are different but I guess in the end none of us do know for sure. I just wanted to state that as of now, staff is the closest to canon we have to rely on.
I had an idea that after Twilight's friends died off, her logic of "How is the princess of friendship supposed to rule without her friends?" And "If I can't have my friends, nopony can have theirs", she turned into a Nightmare Moon/Daybreaker type villain and forced disharmony among ponies out of loneliness and jealously
That sounds very dark and cool but wouldn't it throw all of her character development to the trash? As much as I like the idea of a protagonist of a show to be the antagonist of another, I don't think this is what they're going for here. Most of the G4 fans will be so triggered if they see Twilight became a villian after all the things she's been through.
Extended Theory: Twilight could still be around BUT she could still be mentioning the rest of the mane 6 because they potentially died since twilight has a longer life span so twilight didn't want them to be forgotten cause they changed equestria and its future :)
even in season 9 ending we saw celestia sized twilight and already old rest of mane 6 that means alicorns will outlive everyone but knowing that twilight could psychologicly get ready for inevitable death of her frriends
I personally feel like the reason Twilight disappeared is probably for the same reason magic disappeared and the around the time the gems were created. Depending if the Twilight's friends were still around during the gems creation, depends if the gems have the essence of just Twilight herself or all the mane six. Maybe something similar that happened to Starswirl and the pillars, happened with the Main six and they got trapped somewhere? Personally I think the only princess who could make an appearance is Flurry Heart, since unlike Twilight(who take too much away from the main characters and the story) Flurry is still a character we don't really know all that well, so it could be easier to write her into the story without taking away from the main cast. Also, I'm hoping Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow are the ones behind the magic disappearing and the pony tribes dividing.
This would make me ask what Celestia, Luna, Cadance & Flurry heart (I guess discord too) are doing during that time because i highly doubt they wouldn't notice magic disappearing in equestria or that twilight vanished.

Funny enough I know that flurry heart was born an alicorn but does she really have such magic that allows her to live as long as the other magic made ailcorns? She was the only one born that way so I’m curious about it. Especially since she would be the youngest and we still don’t see her anywhere in the show (so far at least)
@@astalaga Flurry Heart might be the one and only Alicorn left due to her natural birth and not due to a magical transformation, if the others vanish due to no magic or lose the extra parts horn/wings and become the normal selves , Flurry may make an appearance as the only Alicorn left, unless she can carry the genes on to future generations. Maybe they will introduce a new G5 version Alicorn or breed of pony.

Personally, I believe it is a mixture of everything that you stated in the video, plus the fact Discord is still around and no longer has Fluttershy as a anchor to keep him on the good side. He knows Twilight better than anyone, and could easily cause some small chaos not knowing how it will impact the future.
Or maybe he was so upset without Fluttershy that he gave up hope and because he was sad he didn’t do anything chaotic so all the magic drained out of him and he was no longer like in “Discordant Harmony” perhaps?

I personally think it would be OOC for twilight to be the cause of the seperation. It is more likely, like the video proposes, that she left as a consequence of that seperation. Maybe you could be right and the initial mistake that led to the world of G5 was her doing but it would have been just that, a mistake that she now blames herself for instead of trying to fix it. Or it was an event that was out of her control or one she failed to prevent. anyways my point is watch the video again, it is explained quite nicely in there.
ooooeh, like a nightmare moon scenario! Losing her friends triggers some form of change inside her that leads her to the dark side! I would love to see this happen! But if it does happen, I do not want it to be obvious that the big bad is actual Twilight gone evil until the very end! I want it to be a twist, like with Luna (sort of). This would also honestly make more sense than Twilight just giving up on Equestria. I feel like Twilight grew a lot as a character in the last season and that she takes her role as a leader too seriously to just up and leave. It doesn't feel like something new Twilight would do. Also even she did feel like she was the reason for the separation, assuming Cadence, celestia, Luna, and flurry heart are still alive, there's no way they wouldn't try to intervene. Twilight snapping and being consumed by darkness however, is something that is more plausible as it even happened to Luna.
@@koolkatbff the thing is, it would be hard to make the villain of the G5 movie an external bad guy. The theme of the movie seems to be about coming together and uniting once more, so an internal villain/conflict like a racist general or an impending war might be the better choice
@@koolkatbff correction: Luna didn't turn into Nightmare Moon because she lost her friends, but because she didn't feel appreciated enough by her subject compared to Celestia. And also, it is not some big twist since it all happens in the very beginning of G4 and explained by Twilight. Twilight being the main antagonist in G5 is an interesting idea, but the writing needs to be really good and kept interesting throughout the G5 movie.
I agree this sounds like a really interesting way to take Twilight, it actually reminds me of Luke Skywalker in "The Last Jedi", where after her friends are gone after so long doing this job by yourself they screwed up something which cause the three tries to separate so she put herself interpersonal exile which is why we don't see doing anything about the current state of equestria, because she feels responsible for it.

It might be true that she is the Princess of Friendship but her being an Alicorn, aka a Pony Race that have all 3 Attributes, aka Earth Pony, Unicorn and Pegasus, she's more connected to the Magic itself and probably to whatever happen to the Magic of this Future Equestria firstly targeted her or got affected the most to the point that she might've gone into hiding or got trap somewhere on which once the Magic is back, she'll be release once more and be surprise on how much have change since her absence and try to adjust into the new Equestria as she go back and reclaim her Throne, on which won't be surprising if the place was turn into A tourist spot or been ruled over by some evil organizations claiming that they have the rights on the throne or they have the paper to proved that it's theirs and Twilight doesn't or just straight up gone. Which might mean she'll find a place and become some sort of HQ for the new Mane 5. Speaking of, what might've happened to the Crystal Ponies? Will the Princess FlutterHeart or Princess Cadence still ruling over the Crystal Empire and it's people? Is the tradition still works or due to the Magic being gone, the tradition also goes with it?
Perhaps the Crystal Empire, fearing the civil unrest of Equestria, is the first to block itself off, using the last of their magic to protect their kingdom. Should the Windigos be a threat in Gen 5 (which they probably will be, at least in the beginning of Equestria's fall since they exist to punish the distrustful), the Crystal Empire would likely be completely wiped out, since losing magic will already make them vulnerable to the harsh cold of the north.
@@stormbix Windogos are pure Magical Creatures that only form then such Distrust and Negativity is all over or centered around a specific area. So probably not. Most things in Equestria have Magic, even the Everfree Forest is Ruled by Uncontrolled Magic that is somehow also acts as a Form of Harmony for the Creatures that lives there. This also means that everything will change the moment magic is Gone, the Towns and Villages in the Clouds will Fall, the Clouds won't be controlled by Pegasus, not even be able to even live there. The Crystal Part of the Crystal Ponies might disappear as well, since base on how they call themselves Crystal Ponies, I'm guessing they can go Crystal all on their owns before, aka it's their Magic. It is possible that they learn a type of Magic to Combat the sudden loading of Magic, but on which Trap the Crystal Ponies in the Crystal Empire itself since the Empire was once got Surrounded by magical occurrences itself and in a sense, trap.
It looks like when Twilight became an Alicorn that Celstia used her magic on Twilight to make her an Alicorn so maybe when all the magic was wiped out she became a Unicorn again, along with Cadence and then they passed away shortly after because Unicorns don’t live as long as Alicorns? Flurryheart however was born an Alicorn so could still be out there somewhere but with no adult ponies to guide her she feels at a loss of how to rule?

I agree. I do think that if they were to have the Mane 6 in G5 they would’ve all been frozen in time or something? I think if they died and gave more than just subtle hints about it it would be a little dark
I think I remember Tara Strong confirming a while back that she wasn't coming back to voice Twilight in G5; are we expecting, if this theory is true, that she was maybe replaced? (I would question if Hasbro would do that, but it looks like they already did with Discord in Pony Life, although he's a more secondary character instead of the old protagonist.)

My guess is that twilight might be still alive and she's in g5 but I think, she did something or something bad happened and friendship and magic in Equestria broke and because of that, she exiled her self because of her failure.

That's a very interesting yet sad scenario Doc, although i could kinda picture it happening i mean Twilight obviously wouldn't be able to manage Equestria without her friends and Spike, and not being able to keep the peace in Equestria with her old friendship methods, Twilight definitely would most likely blame herself for the pony races separation and thus she would probably abdicate the throne out of shame and leave Equestria, but as for Twilight's friends and Spike being gone well i have no doubt that they wouldn't want Twilight to spend the rest of her life grieving over them nope, they would want her to move on and make new friends.
Perhaps the reason twilight is missing is because she did something to stop the windigos. Something like how the pillars put themselves in limbo to stop the pony of shadow. Cause if the world is full of mistrust again then the windigos are unaccounted for also

Spike proved his loyalty to Twilight through pretty much the entirety of the show. He is whether "hiding" with Twilight or he just passed away like the other members of the mane 6. What if Princess Twilight Sparkle being an Alicorn which are practically Immortal and all her friends dead due to old age because this is so many years in the future, what if she got with Starlight Glimmer and went through time to When her friends were still alive and decided to just lock herself up in a time loop because she couldn't live without her friends and it was driving her crazy, and this somehow caused an issue with the magic. I mean I really wouldn't blame her I'd be sad too if my besties were all gone, and technically since it's so many years in the future everyone she knows is gone it's not like any of them would judge her for doing such a thing, actually she could even go the villain route and be the antagonist.
@@Mc-rw2no Well it is possible due to a spell that Star Swirl the Bearded had and eventually many years later Starlight Glimmer would get ahold of and complete. With it she was able to travel back in time to try and stop Rainbow Dash from doing the Sonic Rain-boom to foil the mane 6 from being a thing, the episodes were The Cutie Re-Mark - 1&2 and one of my favorite episodes as it shows many outcomes of what Equestria would be like had the Mane 6 not be around. Also in It's About Time which was the 20th episode of season 2 Twilight herself was using a modified version of the same spell to warn herself about a future event which in the end would just make things more confusing, after all as The Great and Powerful Trixie would say to Twilight In All Bottled Up, "If anything breaks, Starlight will just go back in time and fix it!" So I mean why not make it a thing in G5?

Sunny finds the bottle in her travels and rubs it only to find a Draconequus named Discord inside who messes with her with a little chaos magic and gives her advice similar to how he treated Twilight. However due to magic leaving the world he can only give her 3 wishes much like the Genie in Aladdin, but 20% cooler.

After the other mane 6 pony’s were gone twilight was the last out of them ruling but after a while (depending how long) the pony’s started having mistrust other each other and rumors starting going around about alicorns (why they wanted to split paths) Twilight has none of her friends and no one maybe spike was still there but even then those rumors were getting worse, even spike starting believing them. After that twilight had to leave some where, now no one till this day knows what happened to twilight even if she’s alive. Is spike alive? Yes because spike has a very long life span like other dragons do, tho we wouldn’t know where gen 5 takes place so I don’t know if spike would honestly be there. Twilight sparkle used to have a really bad habit of twilighting but was able to overcome it with the help of her friends, but what is her twilighting got so bad that she couldn’t even think about friendship and harmony.
And perhaps when she was a Nightmare Moon version she drained all the magic she could have said something like and magic will be drained forever! As she drained it all and is now hiding in Tartarus.
My theories: Either Twilight became the bad guy in G5 or she passed away with her friends with some spell or she just left/ran away from embarrassement.

If the old cast are dead in the new series, I'm going to be immensely sad. I wouldn't really care if I hadn't watched them develop and grow up for 9 seasons, but since we saw them alive and well and now it's implying that they're dead, it's depressing as all hell. The only way this wouldn't be depressing is if they were trapped in some timeless dimension for thousands of years like Star Swirl and his friends were.
This could be a possibility, Twilight's story might be like Luke skywalker’s story in the New trilogy from building a new Jedi order, to Kylo Ren‘s creation and to his exile. But I am sure there will be more to the story. Maybe the story is going to be about the Main Five trying to find Twilight and they will probably help her and make her realize that the magic friends still exists and etc.
Duse, that'd be awesome. That Alicorn Twilight could be alive and gives some clues about what happened, about the separation of the races, would be a big end of a season.
TH-cam recommendations are really going to make me have to watch MLP again, I never actually finished it though, it was my favourite show when I was little.
The fact that, I was dissapointed in the idea of Twilight becoming a "Celestia clone" from the beginning makes this just so much worse ...it gives me serious "Remembrance" and "Recall the time of no return" vibes...and as much as I would be very interested in such a continuation of my favourite character's arc, and where it could lead....that's never how I wanted to remember Twilight as....I like the flawed quirky OCD pony she was,(I mean probably the only plus to this is that we'll see her actual flaws despite the so called "god like image"). I just feel like she didn't deserve such a tragic fate. Having to live as the princess of friendship without any friends, seeing how each of your loved ones slowly passes away is just sadistic. At least Celestia had Luna. I imagine Cadence will have a rough time too but even she has flurry heart to fill some kind of void. Twilight is a pony(or I'd say human for the sake of the argument but you get what I mean) just because she is super wise now doesn't mean she is devoid of emotions and her mental state can't alter...and judging by how things went later on, it probably did...Idk I was a big fan of those fan made concepts of her having this kind of fate, because of how intriguing and brutally dark they were, but....idk ...again I did not want to remember her this say, in the canon story... Her character meant a lot to me and inspired me in many ways. And she still does.
I'm still unsure if this is the right move to make. Like, if they have to do this, have the ponies not trust each other, then I hope there's a good reason for it. Cause I really don't like that the Mane Six's efforts are just undone like that. I've mentioned this online before, it feels like everything the Mane Six did, was all for nothing. That all their efforts to spread friendship and peace among every species, was just a waste of time and their efforts would never last. I loved G4. So it rubs me the wrong way that all those accomplishments, all those times I rooted for the Mane Six and Spike, they're just undone. All their efforts wasted now.
For me, I’ve always seen Twilight immortal even before I joined the fandom. I don’t see her as this pony who will always be depressed and shut the world out like everyone thinks. I see her still opening up to new hearts and friendship, telling new generations about the Elements of Harmony, their history and what the Elements represented. They will always be there for Twilight, in her heart and memory when they pass away. They don’t want to see Twilight be consume by fear, sadness, and pain. Her friends would want to see her be happy and look after Equestria on the behalf of all of them. That’s how I’ve always saw Twilight. Not the one who will always be sad or feel pain forever without her friends. But rather the one who still keeps moving forward and will live a happy life. As for G5, I see Twilight being imprison and without her around, peace and harmony isn’t left in check.
How I wish that her friends would also have the same lifespan as twilight.😭😭😭 Imagine losing all your friends, then having to continue without them for, idk, maybe 50+ years?

Since we _are_ talking about post-Faust Hasbro, the possibility that we'd find writing of the requisite caliber is slim.
Well I think that Celestia knew that Equestria will end in disharmony, but took her chances. Twilight's friends might have died, while Twilight still thinks she's not alone, then Spike must have went 2 another land far from Equestria, cause maybe he's really heart broken about Rarity's death so he fled. Twilight must have been so lonely that she must have transformed into Midnight Sparkle and cast Equestria in eternal night, but the unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies side by side must have banned her 2 the moon, but if she was still alive in the world, they might have exiled twilight to a place that's far beyond Equestria's boarders and locked in a magic proof dungeon. Meanwhile back at the merely half destroyed Canterlot, the ponies knew there was no leader and fought over which species of ponies should rule Equestria, cause they exiled and banned every alicorn from Equestria. And so the war started, but 3 wise ponies (1 unicorn, 1 Pegasus and earth pony) made a wise decision and separated the ponies into species.Then that's how g 4 ended up. So Sunny and her friends journey began.
I feel that if Twilight was to be in the G5 like you said she left for some reson she may try to help them from the shadows by hiding out in a place that is only known to the princess or to her friends and hope to find some one that can take on the mantel. Like useing a artifact to remotely view equestria for signs of the ones she is looking for well trying to hold on to her self to build off of what you where talking about in the video but that is if the staff want to go that way. Who knows, for the most part do we realy know the scope of the starting plot/story arch it is hard to say.
I kinda hope Twilight gets a badass hallway/rescue the main cast scene in G5 like Luke did in The Mandalorian. I suggested it on Twitter and Tara Strong liked my Tweet. :P
I personally think that after all her friends have died people lost the faith in her over time, as well as in friendship, which lead to the magic disappearing. After all friendship is magic. It's also possible that some certain villains appeared again and this time actually were able to suppress all forms of magic enough. Maybe they even went as far as to kill twilight, tho I don't think that would actually be said in the show but who knows. I mean just because she's immortal doesn't mean she can't be killed. Which would also explain why the ice/snow thingies which name's i forgot aren't there anymore either, all magic is gone, almost completely suppressed. This would also quite well work with the theories I came up with for how the new mane5 would be able to get their cutie marks as well as refunding magic. It would also explain why there are only 5 characters instead of 6, the elements of harmony don't exist anymore, since they're magical it would only make sense for the villains to have completely gotten rid of them as well.
Not sure if seen season 9 of mlp, but the elements of harmony were destroyed. In addition the windigos are results of a lack of friendship so they cant be stop from it as a lack of friendship doesnt remove magic.While a villain could try to take all of the magic again but it is unlikely given that the only characters that they are able to end magic are in stone.The windigos I dont think are effected by a lack of magic , as they were around long before equestria as even during hearths warming they were known of as clover the clever knew of them because starswirl knew of them.
@@Saxton_Hoovy I know that they were destroyed but I meant as in the elements of harmonies are kinda constantly in living beings, seein as the mane6 and the students6 so it would only make sense that they would've to somehow completely cut loose of that to get rid of magic and harmony and whatever. And I think that since if the magic is, not just with friendship, completely suppressed like never before in history it's also possible for the wendigos/windigos/whatever to not be there anymore. Plus just like discord it's possible that the three villains will break free from the stone after many years.

We saw in the finale with Chrysalis and Cozy Glow's actions that the tribes are not nearly as unified as it appears on the surface. Twilight could do her best and events could still push the tribes apart. Alicorns aren't tyrants, they rule ponies because the ponies want them to. It could come to pass that the tribes no longer wish to be a unified nation and thus have no need of an alicorn ruler. Sunny's goals could be convincing the various tribe rulers that coming back together to reform Equestria is a good idea, then she would have to set out on a quest to find Twilight and convince her to come back and take the throne again.
If Twilight Sparkle is still around in MLP G5 then why would she just left Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow in stone? Why wouldn't she do anything to reform them like Celestia did with Discord? That's unfair don't you think? Another question is, would Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow be still in stone at this time?
If magic disappeared then either they are stuck in stone till magic returns or they were released without magic and died some time later due to age. Maybe they caused the ponies to fall apart they easily did it in season 9 why can’t they do it after being returned.
I though that maybe Twilight did try to reform them but she couldn’t reform Chrysalis so she changed (being a changeling) into the different tribes to spread mistrust?!
I honestly didn't know this was a thing but what you said about the others passing and twilight being by herself made sense. Twilight has always been an anxious pony, even as ruler she leaned on her friends... In my opinion Twilight was never set up, character wise, to be able to rule on her own. I think she'd crack under the pressure when she realizes she's truly alone and throw herself into a spell or something and end up throwing the balance her and her friends created out of wack.
This is kinda dark but there is nothing worse than living one's life and dying while holding a grudge with the fact that even after Applejack grew old and died as well as the rest of the Gen 4 Apples, She never got to bury the hatchet with the Flim Flam Brothers about their troubles and the possibility of Lightning Dust dying from taking her own life because of the fact that she has to live being depressed and broke that she could never be a Wonderbolt now in her entire life with her dreams shattered to pieces. Man G5 is kinda dark huh?
Just look at any monarchy that has ever existed. It starts with strong rulers and inevitably slowly descends into less and less capable rulers. Twilight could have passed on her crown to a perfectly capable ruler, but how about that one, and the one after? After some point there will inevitably be a string of alicorns that are not really up to the job or someone who is despotic and overthrown.
I like to think that maybe even if she isn't still around her spirit may have mixed with the friendship of magic and left something similar to a ghost to guide the characters in G5
@@nightshroud9671 Celestia and Luna retired so they were already old. Alicorns are not immortal. Discord was the only character referred as immortal (by Spike in S8) while Alicorns were only described in Journal of Two Sisters as "aging slowly"

And Luna was stuck up on the moon for a thousand years and most likely her "aging" paused while she was up there(still awake and aware though). It makes no damn sense for Luna to retire like that. Makes no sense for them to die of old age like that. Its possible alicorns "age" but they don't go all wrinkle and old, just stop growing at a certain point.
An enemy powerful enough that they were able to banish or lock Twilight away, Celestial banished Luna to the moon, Possible that someone did that to the other Alicorns. Once the alicorns aren’t around the ponies started to panic, when the sun and moon princess went missing the guards just went to the next princess around. It safe to say that maybe the enemy was able to banish even the crystal empire along with their royalty cause I don’t remember it being referenced in the movie. Could be that I missed it but there aren’t any crystal ponies anywhere either. So maybe the new generation finds a way to bring them back? The main 6 brought the pillars back after all, would be a cool two part episode if they find out they can bring back a lost alicorn.
Can we take what Tara Strong said a couple of years ago that Twilight was not going to appear in G5. Now, that could be the series and not include the movie. Or information may have changed. I think Flury Heart has something to do with it. Something along the line of the fan fic "Actions have Consequence", only Cozy Glow doesn't learn anything and tries to take over equestria again. May be even get Chrysalis freed, and she starts spreading distrust among the races again. There is so many ways this can go - I'm getting excited for the movie.
We could see the whole Mane 6 again if it turns out they are trapped in some Magical thingy. It could also be a good explanation to how Equestria lost the magic of friendship.
In G5, donkeys have after Equestria falling apart resurrected the Donkey Kingdom which serves as intermediaries between Earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns when different pony races have to interact.
I'll agree with you, Wolf. I feel like Twilight went into self exile, like Yoda did, feeling that she failed not only as a princess but as an element of magic. With that, her exile most likely affected the rest of Equestria, as Magic somehow disappeared from the Hooves of the ponies. Without her, the only other thing to generate magic would be the crystals of the Pegasus, Unicorn, and Earth ponies, which were lost and dispersed. With Sunny as what would seem as the next Alicorn, she and her friends might end up going on a quest to look for the missing princess. But there's something else bothering me after watching the movie. Besides some rodents and a flying dog, there has not been one other animal spotted in the movie. No Kirin, no Dragons, no Changelings. Basically no other sentient creatures that weren't ponies. Did they disappear with the magic too?
I believe that theory could be right. Its possible that twilight at this time is as old as Celestia and Luna was when they were both ruling. So its would make since that if Twilight lost all her friends that she would be isolated.

I have read a comment that kind of explains somethings, everyone remember the stone in forgotten friendship? I read a comment that said it might have found it's way back to Equestria by a villain, and the villain used that stone to make everyone forget that they used to be friends, a quote can be used from Izzy when she said, "It seems that one day we all just forgot," but once the magic started disappearing from the lack of friendship, might've defeated the villain on its own due to them not having the magic source anymore. And as for the other pony's, they just continued to forget. I feel this scenario making the most sense right now.
I knew what to say before I watched the whole thing. The problems with this scenario are two-fold: 1. This could play out like the PT Yoda regressing into the OT Yoda if the reasoning behind is intricate and in-character, lest it play out like OT Luke ‘regressing’ into ST Luke. 2. It was you, Dr. Wolf, who showed us a tweet saying that Twilight is not going to outlive her friends by much. I’ve explained before that it’s clearly the Elements, not the Alicorn magic, that gave all the alicorns longevity, so there is too much already given to undo and retcon to keep TS alive during the Gen 5 series.
I firmly believe the alicorns, especially the younger ones (Twilight, Cadence, and Flurry), are still out there somewhere keeping an eye on Equestria right now. Something had to have happened to cause the decision, forcing Twilight and the others to go into hiding. Think about it. With so much of the movie directly tied to G4, the world couldn't possibly survive without magic, so there has to be some powerful creatures still lurking around to keep everything flowing.
Here's my theory! So what if MAYBE Tara Strong is keeping a secret to not spoil any surprises? Maybe Twilight would be in g5! Or if Tara isn't Voice acting as Twilight again she could be been replaced. But again my theory! Just can't wait. :)
why didn't twilight transform her friends into alicorns as well? she knows she can trust them, and on top of that, they would help her stay strong throughout the years, AND there would be more people that could help rule, and keep ponies safe.
Well..let's also remember about shining armor. Twilight losing her brother may also be the cherry on the top of why she was devasted. And I noticed that "Luster dawn" is pretty similar to "sunny starscout". The colour palate, passion about twilight and her achievements and similar cute marks. Maybe sunny is some kind of decesnedent or something.
The writers did say that Twilight won't outlive her friends. I think she died along with them, as well as the background characters. Also Tara Strong, the VA of Twilight did say that she wouldn't return, improving my theory a bit.
This setting totally works out on many levels, especially if se stop and think about what kind of personality Twilight has. Seeing all her work as the princess of friendships being nullified, without her friends to back her up, would surelly lead her to feel like she failed. Even if this Is a sad concept for the very debut of the G5, It could give a really cool plot point, where the main 5 go looking for the legendary princess of friendship to get help bringing Harmony back in Equestria, ending up helping Twilight herself what friendship really Is instead but still refusing to get back as the ruler of Equestria and entrusting this new group of Friends to keep the magic of friendship alive in this new era.
Same cause she needs friends or maybe she will have some but thinking she has no friends that’s alive is very sad but hope she make some friend or sunset comes in
Honestly I doubt that Twilight is still around if not because the writers confirmed that she wouldn't outlive her friends suggesting that unlike Celestia who seems to be a natural born alicorn, Twilight was training Luster Dawn to take her place so she could pass on and not live eons without her friends and family, as well as the fact that Tara Strong isnt reprising her role as Twilight because her contract ended with Pony Life and she doesn't want to come back. I personally think that Twilight passed on and made Luster Dawn her heir who then would also be a made Alicorn and would need to choose a student and pass on alicornhood to HER heir and so forth. So either one of Twilight's heirs majorly f'ed up somehow and destroyed magic or maybe the ponies of Equestria BLAMED the loss of magic on Twilight's teachings and turned away from them.
my theory is that there was a war or invasion that was very deadly, so she and the other leaders drove all the magic Equestria and the land had into those three crystals (leaving nothing behind so a lot of magic creatures stopped being magical, ie wendigos) gave one each to the 3 pony races and told them to run so the invaders couldn't use the power. She was the last stand and sacrificed herself to try and save them, and since the 3 races were in hiding for so long they lost contact, then life went on, and things of past were forgotten, and the few things that remained of each other were twisted over time.
That's a very sound theory. Though I think Twilight would have given up her title, probably to Luster Dawn or someone she felt could continue on her legacy so that way she could age normally again and be able to pass on not long after her friends did. As for Spike he may have returned to the Dragon Lands or passed away from a broken heart at no longer having his family. Maybe the Pony Twilight gave her crown to started doing things that began going against her legacy and before long that fear and mistrust had cemented itself. Remember, Twilight may have been the "Princess of Friendship" but she was the Barer of the Element of Magic so with her and her friends gone, and the Student 6 gone too, nobody else could handle the mantle of being a Barer of an Element of Harmony, thus magic fell away, especially when technology began taking precedent more often, and everypony separated into the three tribes again, with only Twilight's legacy a thing of the past, probably nothing more than a fairytale at this point and Sunny believes that she can bring everything back to the way it once was.
I´m new in the franchise, but... Nobody has though about the Windingos? I mean, in the series clearly states that the only thing that keeps them away is the magic of friendship. If the ponies are now hostile between them, should have the Windingos taken the land? And also, how they solved the detail of the raise of the sun and the moon? In the series told us that, before the arriving of Celestia and Luna, the unicorns where the responsibles of that. Is still the same? They have solve both problems between G4 and G5? I think that a big hole in the franchise (and an excellent narrative opportunity) is that they never truly establish the origins of both problems, despite the fact that are central elements of how the world is organiced.

(what if the reason why magic left Equestria is that Twilight tried to do something forbidden, maybe in trying to turn her friends immortal or something and while she may or may not have succeeded, even by attempting this she was breaking the rules, thus magic was removed from the world as punishment... or perhaps magic had long been fading away, even before G4 started but because magic generally was so abundant it wasn't really noticed until it was gone by the time of G5?) Yeah but the torch is always passed down to the next dragon through the trials so I’m not sure what you mean. Plus spike was never the dragon leader so I’m not sure what you mean. Maybe explain a little?

Torch lived for alot of years like that, he's only stepping down due to the rules saying only a dragon can be Dragon Lord for a 1000 years till they need to give it to someone else(think like how a president can only be in office for 4 years till next election happens)

I agree with lots of your points, I think without her friends Twilight falls into a deep depression. She is the princess of friendship and with how we've seen her think through the series I wouldn't call it far fetched to have her mindset fall into one of "How can I rule as the princess of friendship without the friends who got me here?" B/c of this I feel she at first separated only a small amount of the pony races as a sort of colony like test into a far even maybe closer to outlands of Equestria. As time went on gradually more ponies started to move out there and she as time went on encouraged them to as to stay with there family and friends. From there things like her school for friendship, ponyville, canterlot and many more places become shadow towns of what they once were as the new areas were more prosperous in many ways. The colony at first would have had a bit of each pony race in them but as Twighlight stepped back more and let the colony do as they pleased the more they became separated by race. Twighlt for her part kept relationships between them positive for a while via her prescne, probably manually to check on things, and this is why there's evidence of communication between the three races in gen 5. But, even then as they diffrted after apart the 3 races developed more and more fear and rumors to one up each other for Twighlight in her yearly vsists in a way to prove they were 'the best and most deserving of her grace'. From this over time Twiglight just left the colony to there own devices and selded herself up in her old castle in Ponyvill, the place where she has probably her best memeoires. But that's my theory. Ponies like Hitch are probably as many have suggested a decent of Fluttershy, I imagine her descendants and many of the other main sixes descendants were the ones to be mixed in with each of the 3 pony races colonys. Anyhow that's my theory!
I wonder if after her friends passed, Twilight folded in on herself and almost nearly disappeared from Equestria’s public eye. Due to her vanishing after losing her friends, the citizens of Equestria began doubting the longevity and valid need for friendship as if the Princess of friendship couldn’t go on after losing her friends, what normal pony would be able to do better?

I'm pretty sure Celestia and Luna once did have friends just like Twilight and her friends. Look at how they handled losing them. I'm not saying you should forget them but to move on and thrive.
I feel as if Twilight was in G5 she would play more of a character to develop along-side the G5 main cast. Almost as if a lost character learning how to understand friendship again after she lost her friends. Almost as a side character with more meaning then what is shown.
There's actually an audio drama that explores this!! You may have heard of it, it's called Remembrance. It's based off of the SFM animation of the same name by Argodaemon, but the audio drama itself is by Ashley H. It's currently unfinished and on hiatus, but I still really recommend it if this is a possibility that fascinates you :)))

No, it's never been said that alicorns are immortal, or that they have long lifespans. These are just fan made ideas. I've heard some say the sisters possess immense magic power that 50 years is equal to 1 for them or something. And Jim Miller said that they gave Twilight their powers over the sun and moon, ah well I'm gonna saw those powers are the real source of immortality or longevity.

Not exactly. Luna and Celestia lived for thousands of years because they were rejuvenated by raising the sun and Moon. Cadance probably retired at the time of Twilight’s rule and passed on the batton to Flurry. Twilight though now raises the sun and Moon so she is rejuvenated herself. Anyway I hope we get an answer to What happened to Equestria.
I think that the physical traits of an alicorn are physical manifestations of magic, and twilight was being kept alive by magic, so she probably passed away soon after equestria lost all magic

In this case, I think the friendship school would become so international that it would be the other species who teach equestrians how friendship is magic again. the main cast learning it from other species

I think its established lore that Luna and celestia were always alicorns from elsewhere and came to equestria. It may be that created alicorns are different but I guess in the end none of us do know for sure. I just wanted to state that as of now, staff is the closest to canon we have to rely on.
I had an idea that after Twilight's friends died off, her logic of "How is the princess of friendship supposed to rule without her friends?" And "If I can't have my friends, nopony can have theirs", she turned into a Nightmare Moon/Daybreaker type villain and forced disharmony among ponies out of loneliness and jealously

As much as I like the idea of a protagonist of a show to be the antagonist of another, I don't think this is what they're going for here. Most of the G4 fans will be so triggered if they see Twilight became a villian after all the things she's been through.

I personally feel like the reason Twilight disappeared is probably for the same reason magic disappeared and the around the time the gems were created.
Depending if the Twilight's friends were still around during the gems creation, depends if the gems have the essence of just Twilight herself or all the mane six.
Maybe something similar that happened to Starswirl and the pillars, happened with the Main six and they got trapped somewhere?
Personally I think the only princess who could make an appearance is Flurry Heart, since unlike Twilight(who take too much away from the main characters and the story) Flurry is still a character we don't really know all that well, so it could be easier to write her into the story without taking away from the main cast.
Also, I'm hoping Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow are the ones behind the magic disappearing and the pony tribes dividing.
This would make me ask what Celestia, Luna, Cadance & Flurry heart (I guess discord too) are doing during that time because i highly doubt they wouldn't notice magic disappearing in equestria or that twilight vanished.

Funny enough I know that flurry heart was born an alicorn but does she really have such magic that allows her to live as long as the other magic made ailcorns? She was the only one born that way so I’m curious about it. Especially since she would be the youngest and we still don’t see her anywhere in the show (so far at least)
@@astalaga Flurry Heart might be the one and only Alicorn left due to her natural birth and not due to a magical transformation, if the others vanish due to no magic or lose the extra parts horn/wings and become the normal selves , Flurry may make an appearance as the only Alicorn left, unless she can carry the genes on to future generations. Maybe they will introduce a new G5 version Alicorn or breed of pony.

Personally, I believe it is a mixture of everything that you stated in the video, plus the fact Discord is still around and no longer has Fluttershy as a anchor to keep him on the good side. He knows Twilight better than anyone, and could easily cause some small chaos not knowing how it will impact the future.
Or maybe he was so upset without Fluttershy that he gave up hope and because he was sad he didn’t do anything chaotic so all the magic drained out of him and he was no longer like in “Discordant Harmony” perhaps?

Twilight in the past= Brought the magic of friendship and unite all different races to live peacefully alongside each other
Twilight in the future= The cause of mistrust and disharmony between pony species and or other races
I personally think it would be OOC for twilight to be the cause of the seperation. It is more likely, like the video proposes, that she left as a consequence of that seperation. Maybe you could be right and the initial mistake that led to the world of G5 was her doing but it would have been just that, a mistake that she now blames herself for instead of trying to fix it. Or it was an event that was out of her control or one she failed to prevent.

ooooeh, like a nightmare moon scenario! Losing her friends triggers some form of change inside her that leads her to the dark side! I would love to see this happen! But if it does happen, I do not want it to be obvious that the big bad is actual Twilight gone evil until the very end! I want it to be a twist, like with Luna (sort of).
This would also honestly make more sense than Twilight just giving up on Equestria. I feel like Twilight grew a lot as a character in the last season and that she takes her role as a leader too seriously to just up and leave. It doesn't feel like something new Twilight would do. Also even she did feel like she was the reason for the separation, assuming Cadence, celestia, Luna, and flurry heart are still alive, there's no way they wouldn't try to intervene. Twilight snapping and being consumed by darkness however, is something that is more plausible as it even happened to Luna.
@@koolkatbff the thing is, it would be hard to make the villain of the G5 movie an external bad guy. The theme of the movie seems to be about coming together and uniting once more, so an internal villain/conflict like a racist general or an impending war might be the better choice
@@koolkatbff correction: Luna didn't turn into Nightmare Moon because she lost her friends, but because she didn't feel appreciated enough by her subject compared to Celestia. And also, it is not some big twist since it all happens in the very beginning of G4 and explained by Twilight. Twilight being the main antagonist in G5 is an interesting idea, but the writing needs to be really good and kept interesting throughout the G5 movie.

I agree this sounds like a really interesting way to take Twilight, it actually reminds me of Luke Skywalker in "The Last Jedi", where after her friends are gone after so long doing this job by yourself they screwed up something which cause the three tries to separate so she put herself interpersonal exile which is why we don't see doing anything about the current state of equestria, because she feels responsible for it.
It is possible that misstrust and paranoia are due to Princess Twilight Sparkle's sudden disappearance? And because the ponies would blamed others over time, the Eqvestria would split back into three tribes (Pegas, Unicorns and Earth). After that we could see G5.

I totally agree! Because Twilight friends passed away Twilight might of fled from the public eye not feeling confident to do it by herself! Hence the mistrust and paranoia!
It might be true that she is the Princess of Friendship but her being an Alicorn, aka a Pony Race that have all 3 Attributes, aka Earth Pony, Unicorn and Pegasus, she's more connected to the Magic itself and probably to whatever happen to the Magic of this Future Equestria firstly targeted her or got affected the most to the point that she might've gone into hiding or got trap somewhere on which once the Magic is back, she'll be release once more and be surprise on how much have change since her absence and try to adjust into the new Equestria as she go back and reclaim her Throne, on which won't be surprising if the place was turn into A tourist spot or been ruled over by some evil organizations claiming that they have the rights on the throne or they have the paper to proved that it's theirs and Twilight doesn't or just straight up gone.
Which might mean she'll find a place and become some sort of HQ for the new Mane 5.
Speaking of, what might've happened to the Crystal Ponies? Will the Princess FlutterHeart or Princess Cadence still ruling over the Crystal Empire and it's people? Is the tradition still works or due to the Magic being gone, the tradition also goes with it?
Perhaps the Crystal Empire, fearing the civil unrest of Equestria, is the first to block itself off, using the last of their magic to protect their kingdom. Should the Windigos be a threat in Gen 5 (which they probably will be, at least in the beginning of Equestria's fall since they exist to punish the distrustful), the Crystal Empire would likely be completely wiped out, since losing magic will already make them vulnerable to the harsh cold of the north.
@@stormbix Windogos are pure Magical Creatures that only form then such Distrust and Negativity is all over or centered around a specific area. So probably not.
Most things in Equestria have Magic, even the Everfree Forest is Ruled by Uncontrolled Magic that is somehow also acts as a Form of Harmony for the Creatures that lives there.
This also means that everything will change the moment magic is Gone, the Towns and Villages in the Clouds will Fall, the Clouds won't be controlled by Pegasus, not even be able to even live there.
The Crystal Part of the Crystal Ponies might disappear as well, since base on how they call themselves Crystal Ponies, I'm guessing they can go Crystal all on their owns before, aka it's their Magic.
It is possible that they learn a type of Magic to Combat the sudden loading of Magic, but on which Trap the Crystal Ponies in the Crystal Empire itself since the Empire was once got Surrounded by magical occurrences itself and in a sense, trap.
It looks like when Twilight became an Alicorn that Celstia used her magic on Twilight to make her an Alicorn so maybe when all the magic was wiped out she became a Unicorn again, along with Cadence and then they passed away shortly after because Unicorns don’t live as long as Alicorns? Flurryheart however was born an Alicorn so could still be out there somewhere but with no adult ponies to guide her she feels at a loss of how to rule?

I think I remember Tara Strong confirming a while back that she wasn't coming back to voice Twilight in G5; are we expecting, if this theory is true, that she was maybe replaced? (I would question if Hasbro would do that, but it looks like they already did with Discord in Pony Life, although he's a more secondary character instead of the old protagonist.)

My guess is that twilight might be still alive and she's in g5 but I think, she did something or something bad happened and friendship and magic in Equestria broke and because of that, she exiled her self because of her failure.

That's a very interesting yet sad scenario Doc, although i could kinda picture it happening i mean Twilight obviously wouldn't be able to manage Equestria without her friends and Spike, and not being able to keep the peace in Equestria with her old friendship methods, Twilight definitely would most likely blame herself for the pony races separation and thus she would probably abdicate the throne out of shame and leave Equestria, but as for Twilight's friends and Spike being gone well i have no doubt that they wouldn't want Twilight to spend the rest of her life grieving over them nope, they would want her to move on and make new friends.
Spike is most likely still alive due to dragons living for a 1000 years at least.
So it wouldn't make sense for him to die of old age there.
Perhaps the reason twilight is missing is because she did something to stop the windigos. Something like how the pillars put themselves in limbo to stop the pony of shadow. Cause if the world is full of mistrust again then the windigos are unaccounted for also

@@Mc-rw2no I don't think Spike would leave Twilight like that. She is the only family he ever had and she means more to him than his crush. Spike proved his loyalty to Twilight through pretty much the entirety of the show. He is whether "hiding" with Twilight or he just passed away like the other members of the mane 6. Personally, I think both Twilight and Spike are gone :(

What if Princess Twilight Sparkle being an Alicorn which are practically Immortal and all her friends dead due to old age because this is so many years in the future, what if she got with Starlight Glimmer and went through time to When her friends were still alive and decided to just lock herself up in a time loop because she couldn't live without her friends and it was driving her crazy, and this somehow caused an issue with the magic. I mean I really wouldn't blame her I'd be sad too if my besties were all gone, and technically since it's so many years in the future everyone she knows is gone it's not like any of them would judge her for doing such a thing, actually she could even go the villain route and be the antagonist.

@@Mc-rw2no Well it is possible due to a spell that Star Swirl the Bearded had and eventually many years later Starlight Glimmer would get ahold of and complete. With it she was able to travel back in time to try and stop Rainbow Dash from doing the Sonic Rain-boom to foil the mane 6 from being a thing, the episodes were The Cutie Re-Mark - 1&2 and one of my favorite episodes as it shows many outcomes of what Equestria would be like had the Mane 6 not be around. Also in It's About Time which was the 20th episode of season 2 Twilight herself was using a modified version of the same spell to warn herself about a future event which in the end would just make things more confusing, after all as The Great and Powerful Trixie would say to Twilight In All Bottled Up, "If anything breaks, Starlight will just go back in time and fix it!" So I mean why not make it a thing in G5?

After the other mane 6 pony’s were gone twilight was the last out of them ruling but after a while (depending how long) the pony’s started having mistrust other each other and rumors starting going around about alicorns (why they wanted to split paths) Twilight has none of her friends and no one maybe spike was still there but even then those rumors were getting worse, even spike starting believing them. After that twilight had to leave some where, now no one till this day knows what happened to twilight even if she’s alive. Is spike alive? Yes because spike has a very long life span like other dragons do, tho we wouldn’t know where gen 5 takes place so I don’t know if spike would honestly be there. Just mah thoughts on why twilight if she was alive let the other 3 raise of pony’s separate =v=

Twilight sparkle used to have a really bad habit of twilighting but was able to overcome it with the help of her friends, but what is her twilighting got so bad that she couldn’t even think about friendship and harmony.
I think its possible someone seized power by manipulating Twilight into going into one of her phases, and used that to discredit her as incompetent.
Princess Celestia would have to exile her to the Moon, like she did with Luna.

If the old cast are dead in the new series, I'm going to be immensely sad.
I wouldn't really care if I hadn't watched them develop and grow up for 9 seasons, but since we saw them alive and well and now it's implying that they're dead, it's depressing as all hell.
The only way this wouldn't be depressing is if they were trapped in some timeless dimension for thousands of years like Star Swirl and his friends were.
This could be a possibility, Twilight's story might be like Luke skywalker’s story in the New trilogy from building a new Jedi order, to Kylo Ren‘s creation and to his exile. But I am sure there will be more to the story. Maybe the story is going to be about the Main Five trying to find Twilight and they will probably help her and make her realize that the magic friends still exists and etc.
Duse, that'd be awesome. That Alicorn Twilight could be alive and gives some clues about what happened, about the separation of the races, would be a big end of a season.
TH-cam recommendations are really going to make me have to watch MLP again, I never actually finished it though, it was my favourite show when I was little.
The fact that, I was dissapointed in the idea of Twilight becoming a "Celestia clone" from the beginning makes this just so much worse ...it gives me serious "Remembrance" and "Recall the time of no return" vibes...and as much as I would be very interested in such a continuation of my favourite character's arc, and where it could lead....that's never how I wanted to remember Twilight as....I like the flawed quirky OCD pony she was,(I mean probably the only plus to this is that we'll see her actual flaws despite the so called "god like image"). I just feel like she didn't deserve such a tragic fate. Having to live as the princess of friendship without any friends, seeing how each of your loved ones slowly passes away is just sadistic. At least Celestia had Luna. I imagine Cadence will have a rough time too but even she has flurry heart to fill some kind of void. Twilight is a pony(or I'd say human for the sake of the argument but you get what I mean) just because she is super wise now doesn't mean she is devoid of emotions and her mental state can't alter...and judging by how things went later on, it probably did...Idk I was a big fan of those fan made concepts of her having this kind of fate, because of how intriguing and brutally dark they were, but....idk ...again I did not want to remember her this say, in the canon story... Her character meant a lot to me and inspired me in many ways. And she still does.
I'm still unsure if this is the right move to make. Like, if they have to do this, have the ponies not trust each other, then I hope there's a good reason for it. Cause I really don't like that the Mane Six's efforts are just undone like that. I've mentioned this online before, it feels like everything the Mane Six did, was all for nothing. That all their efforts to spread friendship and peace among every species, was just a waste of time and their efforts would never last.
I loved G4. So it rubs me the wrong way that all those accomplishments, all those times I rooted for the Mane Six and Spike, they're just undone. All their efforts wasted now.
For me, I’ve always seen Twilight immortal even before I joined the fandom. I don’t see her as this pony who will always be depressed and shut the world out like everyone thinks.
I see her still opening up to new hearts and friendship, telling new generations about the Elements of Harmony, their history and what the Elements represented. They will always be there for Twilight, in her heart and memory when they pass away. They don’t want to see Twilight be consume by fear, sadness, and pain. Her friends would want to see her be happy and look after Equestria on the behalf of all of them.
That’s how I’ve always saw Twilight. Not the one who will always be sad or feel pain forever without her friends. But rather the one who still keeps moving forward and will live a happy life.
As for G5, I see Twilight being imprison and without her around, peace and harmony isn’t left in check.
How I wish that her friends would also have the same lifespan as twilight.😭😭😭 Imagine losing all your friends, then having to continue without them for, idk, maybe 50+ years?

Well I think that Celestia knew that Equestria will end in disharmony, but took her chances. Twilight's friends might have died, while Twilight still thinks she's not alone, then Spike must have went 2 another land far from Equestria, cause maybe he's really heart broken about Rarity's death so he fled. Twilight must have been so lonely that she must have transformed into Midnight Sparkle and cast Equestria in eternal night, but the unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies side by side must have banned her 2 the moon, but if she was still alive in the world, they might have exiled twilight to a place that's far beyond Equestria's boarders and locked in a magic proof dungeon. Meanwhile back at the merely half destroyed Canterlot, the ponies knew there was no leader and fought over which species of ponies should rule Equestria, cause they exiled and banned every alicorn from Equestria. And so the war started, but 3 wise ponies (1 unicorn, 1 Pegasus and earth pony) made a wise decision and separated the ponies into species.Then that's how g 4 ended up. So Sunny and her friends journey began.
I can see Luna being pretty pissed at Celestia honestly.

I feel that if Twilight was to be in the G5 like you said she left for some reson she may try to help them from the shadows by hiding out in a place that is only known to the princess or to her friends and hope to find some one that can take on the mantel. Like useing a artifact to remotely view equestria for signs of the ones she is looking for well trying to hold on to her self to build off of what you where talking about in the video but that is if the staff want to go that way. Who knows, for the most part do we realy know the scope of the starting plot/story arch it is hard to say.
I kinda hope Twilight gets a badass hallway/rescue the main cast scene in G5 like Luke did in The Mandalorian.

I personally think that after all her friends have died people lost the faith in her over time, as well as in friendship, which lead to the magic disappearing. After all friendship is magic. It's also possible that some certain villains appeared again and this time actually were able to suppress all forms of magic enough. Maybe they even went as far as to kill twilight, tho I don't think that would actually be said in the show but who knows. I mean just because she's immortal doesn't mean she can't be killed.
Which would also explain why the ice/snow thingies which name's i forgot aren't there anymore either, all magic is gone, almost completely suppressed. This would also quite well work with the theories I came up with for how the new mane5 would be able to get their cutie marks as well as refunding magic. It would also explain why there are only 5 characters instead of 6, the elements of harmony don't exist anymore, since they're magical it would only make sense for the villains to have completely gotten rid of them as well.

In addition the windigos are results of a lack of friendship so they cant be stop from it as a lack of friendship doesnt remove magic.While a villain could try to take all of the magic again but it is unlikely given that the only characters that they are able to end magic are in stone.The windigos I dont think are effected by a lack of magic , as they were around long before equestria as even during hearths warming they were known of as clover the clever knew of them because starswirl knew of them.

We saw in the finale with Chrysalis and Cozy Glow's actions that the tribes are not nearly as unified as it appears on the surface. Twilight could do her best and events could still push the tribes apart. Alicorns aren't tyrants, they rule ponies because the ponies want them to. It could come to pass that the tribes no longer wish to be a unified nation and thus have no need of an alicorn ruler. Sunny's goals could be convincing the various tribe rulers that coming back together to reform Equestria is a good idea, then she would have to set out on a quest to find Twilight and convince her to come back and take the throne again.

If Twilight Sparkle is still around in MLP G5 then why would she just left Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow in stone? Why wouldn't she do anything to reform them like Celestia did with Discord? If magic disappeared then either they are stuck in stone till magic returns or they were released without magic and died some time later due to age. Maybe they caused the ponies to fall apart they easily did it in season 9 why can’t they do it after being returned.

I honestly didn't know this was a thing but what you said about the others passing and twilight being by herself made sense. Twilight has always been an anxious pony, even as ruler she leaned on her friends... In my opinion Twilight was never set up, character wise, to be able to rule on her own. I think she'd crack under the pressure when she realizes she's truly alone and throw herself into a spell or something and end up throwing the balance her and her friends created out of wack.
This is kinda dark but there is nothing worse than living one's life and dying while holding a grudge with the fact that even after Applejack grew old and died as well as the rest of the Gen 4 Apples, She never got to bury the hatchet with the Flim Flam Brothers about their troubles and the possibility of Lightning Dust dying from taking her own life because of the fact that she has to live being depressed and broke that she could never be a Wonderbolt now in her entire life with her dreams shattered to pieces. Man G5 is kinda dark huh?

Just look at any monarchy that has ever existed. It starts with strong rulers and inevitably slowly descends into less and less capable rulers. Twilight could have passed on her crown to a perfectly capable ruler, but how about that one, and the one after? After some point there will inevitably be a string of alicorns that are not really up to the job or someone who is despotic and overthrown.
Why do I have a feeling that Pipp and Zipp could be the daughters of Flurry Heart?
If she is in the movie, it would be either at the end or an after credits type of thing.

@@nightshroud9671 Celestia and Luna retired so they were already old. Alicorns are not immortal. Discord was the only character referred as immortal (by Spike in S8) while Alicorns were only described in Journal of Two Sisters as "aging slowly"

And Luna was stuck up on the moon for a thousand years and most likely her "aging" paused while she was up there(still awake and aware though).

Makes no sense for them to die of old age like that. Its possible alicorns "age" but they don't go all wrinkle and old, just stop growing at a certain point.
An enemy powerful enough that they were able to banish or lock Twilight away, Celestial banished Luna to the moon, Possible that someone did that to the other Alicorns. Once the alicorns aren’t around the ponies started to panic, when the sun and moon princess went missing the guards just went to the next princess around. It safe to say that maybe the enemy was able to banish even the crystal empire along with their royalty cause I don’t remember it being referenced in the movie. Could be that I missed it but there aren’t any crystal ponies anywhere either. So maybe the new generation finds a way to bring them back? The main 6 brought the pillars back after all, would be a cool two part episode if they find out they can bring back a lost alicorn.
Can we take what Tara Strong said a couple of years ago that Twilight was not going to appear in G5. Now, that could be the series and not include the movie. Or information may have changed. I think Flury Heart has something to do with it. Something along the line of the fan fic "Actions have Consequence", only Cozy Glow doesn't learn anything and tries to take over equestria again. May be even get Chrysalis freed, and she starts spreading distrust among the races again. There is so many ways this can go - I'm getting excited for the movie.
Hasbro could suprize us all and have Twilight in G5.
We could see the whole Mane 6 again if it turns out they are trapped in some Magical thingy.
It could also be a good explanation to how Equestria lost the magic of friendship.

In G5, donkeys have after Equestria falling apart resurrected the Donkey Kingdom which serves as intermediaries between Earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns when different pony races have to interact.
I hope if Twilight isn't around there will be a Mufasa moment where Sunny speaks to her in the clouds
I'll agree with you, Wolf. I feel like Twilight went into self exile, like Yoda did, feeling that she failed not only as a princess but as an element of magic. With that, her exile most likely affected the rest of Equestria, as Magic somehow disappeared from the Hooves of the ponies. Without her, the only other thing to generate magic would be the crystals of the Pegasus, Unicorn, and Earth ponies, which were lost and dispersed. With Sunny as what would seem as the next Alicorn, she and her friends might end up going on a quest to look for the missing princess.
But there's something else bothering me after watching the movie. Besides some rodents and a flying dog, there has not been one other animal spotted in the movie. No Kirin, no Dragons, no Changelings. Basically no other sentient creatures that weren't ponies. Did they disappear with the magic too?
I believe that theory could be right. Its possible that twilight at this time is as old as Celestia and Luna was when they were both ruling. So its would make since that if Twilight lost all her friends that she would be isolated.

I have read a comment that kind of explains somethings, everyone remember the stone in forgotten friendship? I read a comment that said it might have found it's way back to Equestria by a villain, and the villain used that stone to make everyone forget that they used to be friends, a quote can be used from Izzy when she said, "It seems that one day we all just forgot," but once the magic started disappearing from the lack of friendship, might've defeated the villain on its own due to them not having the magic source anymore. And as for the other pony's, they just continued to forget. I feel this scenario making the most sense right now.
I knew what to say before I watched the whole thing. The problems with this scenario are two-fold:
1. This could play out like the PT Yoda regressing into the OT Yoda if the reasoning behind is intricate and in-character, lest it play out like OT Luke ‘regressing’ into ST Luke.
2. It was you, Dr. Wolf, who showed us a tweet saying that Twilight is not going to outlive her friends by much. I’ve explained before that it’s clearly the Elements, not the Alicorn magic, that gave all the alicorns longevity, so there is too much already given to undo and retcon to keep TS alive during the Gen 5 series.
Pretty sure alicorns(especially natural ones) naturally can live long, if not forever.

I firmly believe the alicorns, especially the younger ones (Twilight, Cadence, and Flurry), are still out there somewhere keeping an eye on Equestria right now. Something had to have happened to cause the decision, forcing Twilight and the others to go into hiding. Think about it. With so much of the movie directly tied to G4, the world couldn't possibly survive without magic, so there has to be some powerful creatures still lurking around to keep everything flowing.

Here's my theory! So what if MAYBE Tara Strong is keeping a secret to not spoil any surprises? Maybe Twilight would be in g5! Or if Tara isn't Voice acting as Twilight again she could be been replaced. But again my theory! Just can't wait. :)
why didn't twilight transform her friends into alicorns as well? she knows she can trust them, and on top of that, they would help her stay strong throughout the years, AND there would be more people that could help rule, and keep ponies safe.
Well..let's also remember about shining armor. Twilight losing her brother may also be the cherry on the top of why she was devasted. And I noticed that "Luster dawn" is pretty similar to "sunny starscout". The colour palate, passion about twilight and her achievements and similar cute marks. Maybe sunny is some kind of decesnedent or something.
The writers did say that Twilight won't outlive her friends. I think she died along with them, as well as the background characters.
Also Tara Strong, the VA of Twilight did say that she wouldn't return, improving my theory a bit.

This setting totally works out on many levels, especially if se stop and think about what kind of personality Twilight has. Seeing all her work as the princess of friendships being nullified, without her friends to back her up, would surelly lead her to feel like she failed. Even if this Is a sad concept for the very debut of the G5, It could give a really cool plot point, where the main 5 go looking for the legendary princess of friendship to get help bringing Harmony back in Equestria, ending up helping Twilight herself what friendship really Is instead but still refusing to get back as the ruler of Equestria and entrusting this new group of Friends to keep the magic of friendship alive in this new era.

Honestly I doubt that Twilight is still around if not because the writers confirmed that she wouldn't outlive her friends suggesting that unlike Celestia who seems to be a natural born alicorn, Twilight was training Luster Dawn to take her place so she could pass on and not live eons without her friends and family, as well as the fact that Tara Strong isnt reprising her role as Twilight because her contract ended with Pony Life and she doesn't want to come back. I personally think that Twilight passed on and made Luster Dawn her heir who then would also be a made Alicorn and would need to choose a student and pass on alicornhood to HER heir and so forth. So either one of Twilight's heirs majorly f'ed up somehow and destroyed magic or maybe the ponies of Equestria BLAMED the loss of magic on Twilight's teachings and turned away from them.

my theory is that there was a war or invasion that was very deadly, so she and the other leaders drove all the magic Equestria and the land had into those three crystals (leaving nothing behind so a lot of magic creatures stopped being magical, ie wendigos) gave one each to the 3 pony races and told them to run so the invaders couldn't use the power. She was the last stand and sacrificed herself to try and save them, and since the 3 races were in hiding for so long they lost contact, then life went on, and things of past were forgotten, and the few things that remained of each other were twisted over time.
So, pretty much a Remembrance x Luke Skywalker from Last Jedi.

That's a very sound theory. Though I think Twilight would have given up her title, probably to Luster Dawn or someone she felt could continue on her legacy so that way she could age normally again and be able to pass on not long after her friends did. As for Spike he may have returned to the Dragon Lands or passed away from a broken heart at no longer having his family. Maybe the Pony Twilight gave her crown to started doing things that began going against her legacy and before long that fear and mistrust had cemented itself. Remember, Twilight may have been the "Princess of Friendship" but she was the Barer of the Element of Magic so with her and her friends gone, and the Student 6 gone too, nobody else could handle the mantle of being a Barer of an Element of Harmony, thus magic fell away, especially when technology began taking precedent more often, and everypony separated into the three tribes again, with only Twilight's legacy a thing of the past, probably nothing more than a fairytale at this point and Sunny believes that she can bring everything back to the way it once was.
But what happened to twilight sparkle and luster dawn?

I´m new in the franchise, but... Nobody has though about the Windingos? I mean, in the series clearly states that the only thing that keeps them away is the magic of friendship. If the ponies are now hostile between them, should have the Windingos taken the land?
And also, how they solved the detail of the raise of the sun and the moon? In the series told us that, before the arriving of Celestia and Luna, the unicorns where the responsibles of that. Is still the same? They have solve both problems between G4 and G5?
I think that a big hole in the franchise (and an excellent narrative opportunity) is that they never truly establish the origins of both problems, despite the fact that are central elements of how the world is organiced.
I think she is trapped and g5 saved her cause look into the last problem how she was accepting herself making her other people accept themselves to so that is not likely

(what if the reason why magic left Equestria is that Twilight tried to do something forbidden, maybe in trying to turn her friends immortal or something and while she may or may not have succeeded, even by attempting this she was breaking the rules, thus magic was removed from the world as punishment... or perhaps magic had long been fading away, even before G4 started but because magic generally was so abundant it wasn't really noticed until it was gone by the time of G5?) My next question... will Dr Wolf be in G5?

Yeah but the torch is always passed down to the next dragon through the trials so I’m not sure what you mean. Plus spike was never the dragon leader so I’m not sure what you mean. Maybe explain a little?

We know dragons can sleep for a century. Torch lived for alot of years like that, he's only stepping down due to the rules saying only a dragon can be Dragon Lord for a 1000 years till they need to give it to someone else(think like how a president can only be in office for 4 years till next election happens)

I agree with lots of your points, I think without her friends Twilight falls into a deep depression. She is the princess of friendship and with how we've seen her think through the series I wouldn't call it far fetched to have her mindset fall into one of "How can I rule as the princess of friendship without the friends who got me here?"
B/c of this I feel she at first separated only a small amount of the pony races as a sort of colony like test into a far even maybe closer to outlands of Equestria. As time went on gradually more ponies started to move out there and she as time went on encouraged them to as to stay with there family and friends. From there things like her school for friendship, ponyville, canterlot and many more places become shadow towns of what they once were as the new areas were more prosperous in many ways.
The colony at first would have had a bit of each pony race in them but as Twighlight stepped back more and let the colony do as they pleased the more they became separated by race.
Twighlt for her part kept relationships between them positive for a while via her prescne, probably manually to check on things, and this is why there's evidence of communication between the three races in gen 5. But, even then as they diffrted after apart the 3 races developed more and more fear and rumors to one up each other for Twighlight in her yearly vsists in a way to prove they were 'the best and most deserving of her grace'.
From this over time Twiglight just left the colony to there own devices and selded herself up in her old castle in Ponyvill, the place where she has probably her best memeoires.
But that's my theory. Ponies like Hitch are probably as many have suggested a decent of Fluttershy, I imagine her descendants and many of the other main sixes descendants were the ones to be mixed in with each of the 3 pony races colonys.
Anyhow that's my theory!
