Misha... You asked about the "why" there might be dirt (and clays) up higher on the bench early in your video. Well, imagine when the river is REALLY flooding... Muddy, boiling dirty mad. Usually during a BIGGER heavy/extended rain event, often with exaggerated snow melt D2 the rain and above freezing temps... All the tributaries, feeder gulches, hillsides, etc. are often shedding raw topsoil, unwashed materials into the river. It and the flood gold can layer into inside bends up high, eddy spots, low pressure zones. The flooding can drop real fast too, leaving all the higher materials/dirt/clays in place. I've found good flood gold, with black sand, in silty/dirty clay layers up high. HTH. :)
While prospecting with my uncle here in Superior Montana, I used to love to play in the sand and gravels looking for pretty rocks, and in turn my uncle thoroughly enjoyed telling me: " you know boy, sand is just goose poop already processed through his craw!😂 Loved the video Misha, good job! Keep up the good work!! ✨⛏️🤠👍✨
Fun video start to finish, great pacing and explaining the steps and what signs your looking for prospecting. Ended up with some nice chunky gold to boot! Cool logo as well, can’t beat Nor Cal!
another thing you can do is set up bucket so that when your done for the day you can shovel top layer off where all that material is sloshing over bucket all day, sometimes you get a nice surprise for end of day
in the front part of my sluice , I glue a reveal mat right where your dumping your material. it lets you see what your getting as far as the shiney. not much silver in that spot. i know where your at. i have gotten some mercury covered gold there that looks like silva.
I'll give ya a tip that worked for me my first year snipping in winter, grab a 50 gal drum and cut bottom off for for foot and hand bath, works amazing for bringing ur temp back up just prop it up on rocks and just need a small fire under then stash ur barrel for each time being out in spring, n throw ur gear on a blow up pack raft and float it across, isnt water lower where you are in winter?
The course gold areas usually Intel that it recently broke off you could be very close to the source of that specific gold being it's more course and where you find the flat gold has gone down river longer meaning that river has cut through multiple veins

Haha i always think about that lol

I've thought about it but my ramp isn't always flush or flat i feel like to much material would get stuck or mess up water flow

Thanks and yes it is lower until spring runoff

The biggest problem I see is you're digging in every place 10,000 other people have dug over the last 150 years. dig virgin ground dude.
It's my first year. I'm still finding virgin ground it's hard to find in California
@@MishaBoylan its in the bank of the river. But hey do what ya want dude it's your funtime. : ) I did have fun hangin with ya.
