It's ethir one of four things 1, definitely the spray the connectors 2 the spring clock in the steering wheel 3 need a new power steering module under the ecu 4 the a new wrack sensor and if you have a battery draw change the room fuse inside the cabin it's a 15 micro at the bottom by the drivers side door
I was having this issue, connectors were clean, all I had to do was recalibrate the power steering. It goes off every now and again but I think Its caused by a bad ground somewhere because my gauges also like to have a mind or their own lol.
Thx for the comment 👍 check all your grounds if your gauges are going wacko. one of my buddies are exudates did the same thing and it turned out it had a bad ground on the ECM
My Rx8 has had this issue for coming on 18 months COVID has delayed me fixing it. I replaced the rack and pinion and whilst I got some power steering back it is not as light as it was before but certainly no where near as heavy as when it failed. I have cleaned these connectors a few times and the car will be fine for 5-6 months and then power steering will fail again, even when I do get power steering back my car is not self centering after a turn so I think I will just replace the power steering wiring sub harness and clean the grounds and see how that goes
These systems seem to either work properly, or have a mind of there own. I got used to driving it so long with zero power steerting, once i fixed it ( using the video above) after 3 weeks I disconnected it. For me I like having a lot of " feel". I don't mind extra muscle at low speeds.
I have no issues turning the steering wheel but car does start to idle very bad and shake ....then stalls but only during low rpm acceleration. What could this be ??
@@xXGHOSTXxAkaAlex clean the ECC or The eccentric shaft position sensor that can get dirty and cause issues as well. If that's not it I would check for a vacuum leak and compression test.
Posting a follow-up video shortly.. It worked!

Does this work if I have a problem where it is only hard to turn right, turning left is all good? Or do I need a new steering rack
I replaced my steering rack, still hard to turn right
If your connections have never been cleaned, definitely worth a shot.
@@devilcharger I did that and now it seems to work fine, thank you!

Whens the last time you changed spark plugs and coil packs? Do you have a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT? auto or manual. What year ?
@@devilcharger auto and yes yesterday I changed spark plugs and ignition coils and still same issue and no check engine on
@@xXGHOSTXxAkaAlex did you do the break pedal stomp and ecu reset? 4 Port or 6 port?
@@devilcharger 6 port and yes the 20 stomp on breaks
