That is not true at all. Senior roles look for 5 years. Junior is less than 1 year, maybe 2 max. And even then 2 years is Intermediate at some companies. Not sure where you got this information from

Computer isn’t hard. I’m sure you’ll definitely enjoy the coding part of it. The hard part about it is the math. You’ll do a lot of math modules like Real analysis, multi variable calculus and differential equations. That’s the hard part about it. But if you stay strong and soldier on you’ll be fine

After homeschooling for my high school career, and getting my American GED. I applied to a private international college here in Joburg, and I got accepted to do Software Development! I start tomorrow so it's been very valuable hearing from people with real experience like you and it sets my mind at ease, I only touched coding once for a week or so learning a bit of C++ to make a calculator so I was nervous about the idea of going into a professional learning environment for it, but I think I'll do fine :)
