Help an elderly person with their groceries. Walk their dog. Get their mail for them. Gazillion things we can all do, and not a single one would be boring, amirite? Spends a great deal of time focusing on a parking lot from about 4:25 to 8:30. This was actually once the site of the old Madison Square Garden, built in 1925 and torn down in 1968. Site was vacant until they built Worldwide Plaza in 1989.

    New York in 1980's was sadly plagued by high crime rate. Later Rudolph Guliani turned NYC into one of the safest cities in the US ! Still places like Harlem and Bronx needs more attention and additional programs for recovery. Good luck NYC !

    Its amazing how "barren" Midtown looks here - there's been so many new, taller buildings constructed since 1986, especially recently. Downtown, though I do miss the Twins - there was nothing like them, and still not, even today. The new WTC is OK, but I'd like to have the originals back, as well as all those people killed in them.

    At 24:20 you can see the window cleaner on the North Tower. It amazes me knowing that someone had the balls to go up that high without much protection and do such a job that barely anyone would do. Poignant that he died up there in that way.

    • @Ogma3bandcamp
      @Ogma3bandcamp 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The window cleaner was automatic. It went up and down the building on steel ropes. There was a guy who changed the water and filled the detergent and stuff and he worked from the roof of the tower. He died on 9/11 but not in the cradle, he was actually on the roof.

      Serious question. Could a demolition crew rig two skyscrapers with explosives without anyone noticing? Wouldn't they have to work in secret? And run detonation cord throughout the entire building? All without the 50,000 employees noticing. Or the 400+ companies noticing? That's a giant conspiracy involving possibly hundreds of people. And none of them will whistle blow?

    • @AdhamOhm
      @AdhamOhm 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      "It collapsed because of "fires"."
      Gravity, too. Also the debris of an adjacent 110-story skyscraper cutting a 17-story gash into the south face of the building, compromising many horizontal support beams as well as an entire vertical column.
