MTR aren't cruel, it had to happen someday because they were nearing the end of their lifespan, like ive mentioned before. Not saying it was deserved, just saying, they reached the end of their lifespan, so it makes sense to scrap them as otherwise the trains will break down at some point beyond repair. This happened to E96/E77
Update: MTR Donates Two Retired Mid-Life Refurbishment Train Cars to Provide A New Landmark for Leisure on Wan Chai Harbourfront these two carriages are 196-377.
3:06-3:10 This is 370. A train retired in February 2020 due to it getting vandalized at University Station. 591-291-691 and 454 have been repaired and then placed back into service. 454 was renumbered to 430, and 430 was renumbered to 432, while the original 432 was scrapped along with the derailed carriages of E81/E21, the train with 430. BTW, on the original and refurbished 3094 stock, K03/K05, or present Mid Life Refurbishment(MLR), this is the status of cars with numbers 1-6 Car 1#### is a SOUTHbound drive car. Car 2#### is a PANTOGRAPH car. Pantographs provide electricity for the train, its also the motor carriage Car 3### is a NORTHBOUND drive car. Car 4#### is FIRST CLASS. Car 5#### is INTERMEDIATE and motorless carriage. Car 6#### is INTERMEDIATE and motorless carriage. 3:17 370’s Yellow Head section is replaced with a new head that is more modern.
I know why 591/291/691 were placed back in service cuz ,after Mlr e81/e21 213/513/613 derailment and needed a new replacement so they use 3 cars from e92/e70
Since the MLR was completely retired, the whole EAL is getting bored for Rail fans. But I wondering if I can help making subtitles for this video it might looks more better~
Well I need is the Permission of editing subtitles, TH-cam providing Subtitles editor space for everyone, just simply give me a Subtitles editor permission so I can add subtitles for this vid. Here is their official video about it: th-cam.com/video/mnKOX2PaQZY/w-d-xo.html
They do that because they have nothing to do, however KCRC proposed changing its motors to extend its lifespan till 2035 which was dropped cause of Sha tin to central link
@@FlatEarthKiller I think they dropped the further reefurbishment program because there wasn't much life left in the trains. Still, I really enjoyed riding on them.

Oh nice! So, which was the hardest and easiest to change during your times in refurbishing the train?
1999 : The starter of MLR
Now : 4 classes of MLR remaining…
2000 is starter as the last Yellow Head finished refurbishment that year (exceptions are E44), full set E45 is scrapped
And yes only 4 MLRs are left today, all MLRS will be fully scrapped by June or July at this rate, or as early as May
Update: no mlrs exist
@@FlatEarthKiller no there's only a few cars😢
@@KCRC_YELLOW_HEADI mean on the East Rail Line tracks.
It’s been the first time in 40 years that a train that wasn’t an MLR ran the East Rail Line.
Sadly, the train retired on 6th May, 2022. I think MTR should buy stadler new commuter train which fit instead of rotem.
