Rules changes I have missed:
Fusillade - Rule has been removed.
Unwieldy - Rule has been removed.
Splash - Rule has been rolled into devastate, which can be written Y" Devastate X where Y is the distance of the AOE and X is the number of mortal wounds.
Reap - Rule has been rolled into devastate, which can be written Y" Devastate X where Y is the distance of the AOE and X is the number of mortal wounds.
Barrage - Rule has been removed.
Move - Now an umbrella term for reposition, dash, charge and fall back. Relevant because Fly, in the vespid rules refers to move - not reposition.
Grenades - Have lost seek (previously indirect) and gained saturation (previously no cover)
Torrent - They removed the clause "and each other" so now if you have three operatives standing in a line such that A is 0.75" from B and B is 0.75" from A and C but C is 1.5" from A a torrent 1 weapon could now hit all three, previously you would have to choose it hit only A and B or B and C, you do still need visibility to all the targets though (unlike say, Blast)
Extra CP when you don't have the initiative - I was wrong, this rule does not apply on turning point one.
Blast - secondary targets are in cover and obscured if the primary target was.
Insignificant - RAW insignificant terrain provides cover (!) I might expect an FAQ on this.
Bases - Friendly operatives can now move through other friendly operatives.
You never could Dash across barricades (unless when you ignore traverse ofc or in some corner cases when you needed to just clear one of the ends and you had the smallest base size)
Splash and Reap have effectively been replaced by Devastate as well
Barrage has also been removed.

I am actually thinking of jumping in to kill team as a side hobby. Come from 40k so the setting is known to me. My main interest is the Joint Ops option for something to do at the end of a 40k day to have a feels good moment. Or to have a game I can play at home because I live far from my group so they’re all meeting up and playing way more often than I can show up.
Joint Ops also lets me get the kids involved. One of my boys has repeatedly said “I want to go to Warhammer with you” but he is not the age where he could sit through an hours long game of mass battle and I don’t want to set him up for failure by letting him experience it when he’s not ready.

I'll add that "Move" is now an umbrella term for reposition, dash, charge, and fall back. This is relevant because the new description of Fly refers to Move, not just Reposition. That means that vespids and other fliers can use fly while charging, meaning they can fly over intervening operatives and land in control range on the far side of their target operative, for example.

Your initial justification is absolutely spot on. Great video dude. I will be informing all of my opponents that if they decide to use the term reposition to replace move, I will be using the term fanny to replace their persons.

One thing of note: grenades, as well as now hitting on a 4+, no longer allow you to target people in cover on conceal (the rule previously called Indirect and now called Seek).
Instead they have Saturate (no retaining dice for cover, formerly No Cover).

A big change is on page 46 bases. Operatives can now move through friendly operatives’ bases and models.

Operatives starting on conceal is great. Will really speed up pre-game setup in formats under time constraint. And the fact that you need visibility to control an objective? Amazing. No more sitting on a sliver of objective control from the other side of a wall.
Yes, I do think it's going to speed up setup and make turning point one a bit more of an event.
Btw, you could never Dash over Barricades unless you have a 25mm base and custom Barricades with like 0.01" thickness. You need to move your entire base over the Barricade, so that is, for all practical purposes, >=1" base width + 2" traverse + >0" barricade thickness, so in practice you always exceed the 3" a Dash provides.
Yeah, interesting, mathematically correct. I think I may have *cheated* when using 25mm bases - by accident of course.

I highly agree with your Volkus Door Plea - this is a much healthier approach to doors. Harlequins, Gellerpox, and to a lesser degree other teams really loved doors way too much.

The one rule I think you missed was Torrent. It's still the poor man's blast, but it's much, much better than it was. Makes me wish that 10 Sisters of Silence was still a thing.

@@TabletopImpulse I think your description of it is wrong. Isn't it regular blast, but secondary target must be visible to shooter, not primary target? Also, blast nerfed so that if primary target has cover or obscurity, so do all secondary targets. Also, did blast always Friendly Fire? Torrent still does not.

I found this useful, I'm a deathwatch player, so when I learned there was "no" support for the faction it destroyed my interest
in the new '2nd' edition, after a year of leaning to paint different things and getting the Ordo xeno box I have some teams,
so I am willing to give it a shot again, after looking on reddit to learn about more teams I might want to buy boom leaks,
am the general response seem to be this '3rd' edition looks to be a more refined rules which people like.

Nice concise video. Overall the new rules seem great, and the rule book itself is well written in comparison to our current edition. Slightly off topic, back in Feb I commented on a video that Orks will be getting a Tankbustas Kill Team. You can see Ork Tankbusta artwork on page 54 (insert coincidence I think not meme).

Less a concern, but certainly an observation... this edition is certainly going to favor faster teams, even more so than last. Not being able to use Dash for climbing would render Death Guard near unusable. Same for any 4” movement teams. I’m really interested to see what’s been done with the Necron and Votann teams. Maybe a general boost to 5” ‘reposition’?
Yeah, this is all true. I expect we may see some 5" move values now we are using these newfangled granular 'inches'
They should have gone to millimeters for measuring movement and weapon ranges. Think of the possibilities! “My pistol has a range of 203mm, but yours is only range 198mm, so you can’t hit me!” Non-reciprocal shooting maxed out.
Unwieldy also seem to disappear (was redondant with Heavy, so good change to me)

9:50 Barred really shuts down the board. We’re going to be pretty much playing UCQ on an open board. It’s probably worth using the Barred rule with Chalnath windows too.
I have to say if you look at the picture in the book, it's only the small intact windows that are barred, not the large ruined gothic church windows.
The Rogue abillity for Farstalker Kinband is now a universal rule as you pointed out at 8:26, surely this means a buff is incoming?
Yeah, if you look at the spoilers for the Imperial teams on Warcom, they have shown a willingness to change the existing teams quite a lot. So I think major changes for the kroot seem likely.
The new rule at 8:26 is different to rogue. Rogue also works with an Engage order, and has nothing to do with vantage. So it will likely remain unchanged.
Ignoring heavy attached to vantage - finally, overhang is equal to floor with wall under it! It was such a small thing, but I really didn't like this difference :D
Oh, and torrent was buffed, and I don't see fusillade.

The only thing that’s changed (which we already knew), that concerns me, is the increased power of vantage points. I’m thinking that the Aquilons will be our (my son and I) “good” team. Just considering the supported “6year” team list to figure out who replaces my Death Guard.

Is there anything on the new equipment rules that talks about equipment like GRISLY TROPHY from the nemesis claw. I looked over the new rules and I can see anything unless all equipment is getting a big change

This is factually correct, and weird.
@@TabletopImpulse It came to me just now - it definitely will need errata for insignificant, if there are terrains which are only insignificant - right now cover from insignificant is better than from light, because, rules as written, it is immune to vantage cover clear and to seek (light) weapon rule :D

Mines - only if your opponents an idiot and triggers there own (or your playing Brood Brothers and Mind Control one of their models into it)
Everything else - Yes. Barricades are still terrain and provide regardless who they belong to, there is nothing to say you cannot steal an opponents Portable Barricade for yourself (for game purposes not the token obviously 😜) and a ladder is a ladder.
You do not get advance stuff from GW, so are under no obligation to keep quiet about the stuff that makes it in to the wild that should not have escaped.

As a lapsed Kill Team player I understand this mechanically but not the full context. How impactful are these changes. Is it actually 3rd Edition or more of a 2.5?
2.5. Slight adjustments, some streamlining, pretty much clearer wording all around.
I'd maybe call it 2.75. Same core engine, but we are getting new indexes for all the teams.

A bit annoyed by all the new keywords, like changing 'move' to 'reposition'. I guess the game designers have their reasons, but sticking to familiar keywords makes the transition from 40k to kill team easier in my opinion
Hmm, I can understand the logic of the things they have changed, I do think it makes the game more accessible to new players, but the other side of that is it makes the game less accessible to existing players.
