Great video. We jumped right in and purchase a Courtyard Villa primarily for the fenced yard. We paid over 11,000 in moving expenses and wish we had just sold everything and buy down here. It really is the best way to go. One last thing David, I love your hair.
Wow! That's alot! Hindsight sometimes burns your eyes too!
Another winner! Bit of a slow start, but once you two got warmed up, (talking about you David) and loosened up, say about the Rules section, you guys were fun to watch as you shared good information. Please keep these videos coming!
Still working on it! Thanks for the encouragement. Somedays are easier than others.
That is a great list, thanks guys!
Hi there! Thanks for watching! We like your new house.
Estate and yard sales are a way to buy furniture. The Villages has a ton of estate sales.ð
Yes there are! Thanks for watching!
Great, practical advice as I contemplate moving to The Villages. Thank-you.
You're welcome.... thanks for watching!
We visited in late March and yes there is a lot of construction going on but that too shall pass. What will it look like in a year, wont be a construction zone forever.
Good point!
Great video. Love Kristy's hair cut. Thanks for sharing ideas.
Thanks! It's my summer cut!
We love your videos! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching today!
Very good points to consider when moving to The Villages. If I do move to The Villages in the Summer of next year, I doubt I would take my furniture as it isn't worth paying to move what I have 1,100 miles from Chicago to Florida. I thought I heard from another TH-cam channel that priority memberships to the country club pools were just discontinued & now any Village resident can use the country club pools...is that true? I will be renting on the Historic side in July, so I wanted to check out the pool at Orange Blossom Hills Country Club if possible. If not, no biggie.
There is a special situation going on with a couple of the country clubs where the developer is suggesting a monetary rembursment for their pool maintenance in exchange for access for residents. But this has NOT been finalized yet. It will probably be just temporary not a permanent arrangement.
I could be wrong too! It might have been voted on. There were 3 pools on the list.
I just read the deveoper dropped the idea of opening those Country Club pools up to all residents. The members who bought exclusive passes weren't happy. Can't blame them. But you can join the Orange Blossom Pool for a fee. But remember it is not an adult only pool. People can bring their grandkids.
We come down several times a year we think you definitely need a golf car. We take a car service from the airport to the house. We make sure we rent one with a golf car and no we don't golf. The only way to get around TV. Our favorite pool is Orange Blossom with that waterfall! Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for watching today!
You made the video entertaining and informative. Love your videos too!
Thanks!! David works for hours on the editing!
Great videos and information we are hoping to move this early fall your tips have really helped us
Thanks so much!
Definitely two car garage. We are renting a courtyard Villa now. Love it, but all of them are not true two car garages. We have two cars and a motorcycle. We quickly learned if we buy, it has to be a true two car garage. Not a one car and a half. We don't feel the need to have golf cart.
We have a one and a half car garage in our rental. Need more space! Thanks for watching!
Hey we live in Ohio down on the Ohio River, Portsmouth. Have you ever heard of us? You are helping me here so much with you Ohio Buckeye perspectiveð we are coming to TV in July and I am so excitedâĪThank you for your kindness and alllllllll the informationâĪ
Thanks for watching.. glad we can help! O - H
One thing we looked for was a minimum two car garage. We found up north the garages are larger, we found a three car up north. We had two cars and two GC, we are down to one car which is our main transportation to airports other wise it sits. We find having his and hers GC (both gas ) is really handy. We have the purchased GPS and free app for GPS, the free one is more accurate south of the Turnpike. We lived in a HOA Del Web in Las Vegas before moving here. The rules here are easier than there, but up north the rules are Eastman south of 466. We are originally from OhiO , we are not old and people saying the north is a bunch of old people is not true. The life cycle has taken care of the north being nothing but old people.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
For The Villages north of Lake Sumter Landing, as the original residents either pass away, go to assisted living or back north to be closer to family, do you find the established Villages a mix of ages? If I do move to The Villages in 12 to 14 months from now I will be knocking on the door of turning 65. I would most likely buy a home north of Lake Sumter Landing.
@@lauralampe1664 There are pockets of neighborhoods that are turning over in the North. When you are here in TV looking for a house ride through the neighborhoods and visit the pools to see who is there and how much activity is going on. Look for the clues.
â@IGoWhereYouGo good suggestions. I can live with any age neighbors. I currently live in a townhouse community of all ages in suburban Chicago. Looking forward to using a pool without the kiddos splashing & screaming. Love the adult only pools in The Villages. Also good The Villages has family pools for visitors under age 30.
@@lauralampe1664 Our home came up for sale because of a death. There is a mix but I donât think 65-70 is old and that is who we mainly have in our neighborhood.
We rented in October and loved it. We will continue to rent not buy. It has become out of our budget.
There are plenty of advantages to renting! Thanks for watching today!
