It's funny how few people comment on how Jamie mixes his metaphors. In the tv interview of this episode he says he hopes to put the nail in the ashes. LOL
Beard and Ted do have a conversation about Soccer not having NFL style "trick plays", Beard explains that in Soccer they are called "elaborate set pieces"
Terrific reaction, as usual! You might already know this, but “You’ll Never Walk Alone” is the finale to the American (Rodgers & Hammerstein) musical Carousel (1945). It is sung by the ghost of a dead father to the daughter he never knew in life, and no one with a heart can get through it without crying.
Great end to season 1. Even though it sucked, I agree them not winning was more realistic. Plus it sets up the plot for season 2. Also, Jason actually did hit his head for real, and they decided to leave it in.
This all started with Ted Lasso promoting football in the states for NBC in commercial s check them out some of those jokes are used in the TV show. Great reaction.
so there's a couple things that issac did to be captain. he told a teammate to get off their phone during movie night and he also stood up to jamie when he tried to get collin to setup the cones for him. could be more that i missed too
I remember noticing Issac letting Nate sit down but apart from that it's been very subtle things that I only remember now they've been pointed out to me lol
There are essentially no sports in the US that end in a tie, and the expression is "Tying is like kissing your sister", presumably as opposed to a girlfriend. It's an old enough expression that I think it's referring to how you would normally kiss your sister on the cheek, which is nowhere near as much fun as kissing someone you fancy on the lips.
Jason Sudeikis actually hit his head during his jump for joy. Both Sudeikis and Waddingham stayed in charcater so they kept it. Sudeikis wasn't seriously hurt.
Best way to explain the sister thing is a kiss is great, but just isn’t right with your sister. American football is especially filled with some insane sayings.
Fumble-rooski. Statue of Liberty. Double Reverse. Flea Flicker. There's a bunch. It's funny, ultimately the only true conceptual innovation in American Rules is downfield blocking. Rugby has forward passes (you have to kick them, but they're there) and the down system is based on Rugby League.....
For reference, Obisanya executed a perfect American Football motion there. Motions before the "snap" are highly regulated. If you ever get into reacting to American Football, I'll be happy to walk you through it as a former player brother Edit: hell yeah we do trick plays in American Football so much. You're built to learn the game man, and your channel will explode if you go the route of actually learning American Football on a deep intellectual level. It's legitimately chess for gladiators
Honestly dude I actually wanna dip into it a little I'm thinking of making a separate channel just for general reactions as this one I wanted more for just movies/shows I might just do it on this channel though who knows you might see it soon lol 🤷♂️
Keep up the great content! Also, might try goosing the algorithm a little for season 2 and trying "UK FOOTBALL FAN REACTION" or something to help entice people and let them know your unique perspective. Just anything to set you apart or give people some reason to get in the door, since I know that people who watch will like it. Good luck on hitting 500!
I was actually thinking about trying this for a title so now you've mentioned it next episode I'm gonna try that so we will see! Appreciate the support 😁
Jamie's extra pass was Ted's win. it ain't about winning or losing. The real winning is the change in Jamie
I loved how they showed him not passing earlier and the goal got saved, and then he passed and the other player scored. Nice detail.

Jamie is clearly a very deep thinker lulz...
In the US, ties are considered like "kissing your sister" - better than a loss, but not desirable , an outcome that wont get you anywhere.
yes, Chris Powell and Arlo White are real comentators 😃
I really enjoy Lasso through your lens. So glad you're loving the show and getting into the character development. "Coffin dodger," eh?I I like that!
Thank you so much!😁 coffin dodger is a great insult to be fair lol
Beard and Ted do have a conversation about Soccer not having NFL style "trick plays", Beard explains that in Soccer they are called "elaborate set pieces"
I lost it at "coffin dodger" 😂🤣😂🤣
It's a pretty good insult lmao😂
Nate was angry at losing his job, which is understandable. Buuuut - he called Rebecca a misogynistic insuIt. that was ... mmm
Terrific reaction, as usual!

Thank you man!😁 I didn't actually know this! The lyrics make sense from the fathers perspective too when I think about it. I will check it out!
Well spotted by Nate’s nasty side. It will come back big time 😊

I had a feeling it was one of those things that wasn't supposed to happen but they kept in anyways! Can't wait for season 2!😁

And every time Isaac stepped up, they showed Roy in the background noticing.
He asked Nate to sit down during one of Ted's talks at one point, after having been one of Nate's bullys. Roy noticed that too
Better than asked, he just quietly made room on the bench for him and tapped the spot letting him know he could sit there.
@@OrionJchess yeah, poor wording on my part for that. It was a really nice moment

Kiss you sister…sure you got a kiss, but it was with your sister. A tie…sure, you didn’t lose, you didn’t win
Coffin-dodger! 🤣 I’m stealing that IMMEDIATELY.
Lmao😂 it's a personal favourite while driving!
Hope you continue with the series. It ended earlier this year so you don’t have to worry about catching up.
I'm 100% continuing! Looking forward to it😁

Ahh makes sense now. I can't lie when he said it at first it shocked me I didn't understand it at all lol

I thought it was real lol! I had a feeling it was one of those things that wasn't meant to happen but they kept in anyways.

I've heard a tonne of American sayings from movies and stuff but never heard that one haha
Ohhhhh nates nasty side…..good spot

Dude, all Americans aren’t ignorant to British things.
The show could be called a dramedy. Drama + comedy.
(No, I did not originate that. Bur I like it.)
