I will never stop saying how much I love this game, sure it's arbitrarily more difficult due to ADP scaling and some weird bosses, but it was my first and still my favorite souls game
This was also my first Souls game, which makes it my favourite game of all time. Also, the PVP was by far the best. The slower pace and better movesets made dueling a lot more deeper and so much more intricate. Whereas the other games it's mostly just R1 spam to infinity.

Parrywalking has completely changed the entire run. He's been getting multiple WRs for weeks now and the time differences between them are the span of *minutes.*
So I didnt finish watching the WR run for all bosses and when I come back I notest that this is a different run with another WR! God damn legend! I have no chance of seeing these live, so thanks for the yt uploads.
Watching that bit where you go straight from talking to Shalquoir to the bottom of The Gutter and through Black Gultch in like 20 seconds was pretty neat, and that parry skip to Lost Sinner is pretty bonkers too. I don't speed run so I didn't know that was a technique to be able to move around/through the collision. I would never have thought you could enter that Lost Bastille door that opens to a death drop from the outside lol.

@@themangotango95 because I really love dark souls 2. Would doing the pursuer cheese at the cardinal tower where you jump the ladder save any time in the beginning or do you think that killing him with the ballista is still faster? I’m genuinely curious because you’d get enough souls to get the bright bug and other stuff to get the soul ring and you’d have ring of blades before last giant so it’d make that fight faster too I’m just speculating I don’t know if it would be a time save or not
@@BlondeMcGuinnDragonrider also gets cheesed, but it still counts. So cheesing the Pursuer would also count, because the Boss version dies, and you get the Soul of the Pursuer. But killing the boss version would be faster, because you only spend like maybe 10 seconds on the fight, while cheesing the previous version would take a little longer.

I've been watching this influx of Dist Scholar record avidly since it started a little while back and obviously what I'm waiting for as with everyone else is the glorious sub 2 hours which is fast approaching. But as I was watching this one a question occurred, entirely out pure curiosity because I know it couldn't be an official run or anything for good reason, but what's the upper limit on how fast you could kill all bosses in this version if you used NG to stack the deck entirely in your favour? Procure every consumable, weapon, piece of armour, spell, level you'd need and specifically build the most OP character possible and then tackle all bosses in the first NG cycle basically. Obviously the enemies have more health and deal more damage in the cycles, but the first NG+ isn't ridiculous and the kind of character I'm thinking about should make even NG7 a breeze for speedrunners who make not getting hit look so easy anyhow. I'm thinking that the sheer time you'd save in menuing and collectathons would outweigh any extra time on boss fights, if indeed they even would take longer with such an OP character. I know that Scholar adds some extra things like NPC summons in NG cycles, at least I think it does, but I can't for the life of me remember if any of these would present any kind of issue, I doubt it tbh, but possibly one outside Drangleic castle entrance if my memory isn't failing me could be annoying, still don't think it would make a huge difference really. So yeah what would the upper limit be on that, how much faster might it be, anyone have any idea?
