JUST DISCOVERED YOUR WONDERFUL VIDEOS, WE RAN AEC's IN 60's AND 70's ON LONG DISTANCE HAULAGE, WALES TWICE WEEKLY EVEN AT 20 YEARS OLD, ROLL ROYCE OF TRUCKS BUT ALLWAYS FILLED THE YARD WITH SMOKE BUT HERE WE ARE TODAY.
Love the vid I'm 13 years old and I think more people my age need to appreciate these lovely old machines and get their hands dirty. you should have got the head of the matador skimmed ported and flowed 🤣
Somebody give this kid a prize. Getting your hands dirty, problem solving and spending time with your buddies fixing stuff will be some of the best times in your life.
You will go far with this kind of attitude. I was hand porting mini cylinder heads at your age. I wish I'd kept at it, but became to busy working on injection mould tooling and then started my own business. I'm hoping to get back to it in the next few years.
Rant against wimps? Check Talking shit? Check Glorious old Matador? Check Smoke to piss off greta and the tree huggers? Double check 10/10, would definitely watch again 😂
Nothing wrong with a bit of smoke. We drove a truck 400km getting about 10 km per liter of oil the army would have wished for the smoke screen we made. Loved the comment about snow flakes.
I was just about to suggest that you not bother to address your critics, but then I watched how you did it. Bloody love it. Top class. Well done. This is my first time watching your channel and I instantly became a fan. Far too many channels are pandering to their own comments section, it needs to stop really. Giving those armchair "experts" time is just contributing to the problem. They are best ignored. Or, as you did, told to F___ OFF in no uncertain terms. Brilliant.
Great opening comments sir!!! I give you a big salute for those LOL! Excellent video, bet it was fun driving that rig through the country, I get the feeling you really enjoyed making this vid, Thanks!!!
Always loved AEC vehicles. Always wanted to see an AEC enginge, such as the AV 470 or AV 590 outside the vehicle turn over, fire up and rev up just for the sheer hell of it. They were great in buses and trucks. Nice little video.
love your rant about the goodie goodies well done never get anything done with health and safety only thing better than diesel fumes is 2 stroke love the video
I've got two LDV Convoy,400,Sherpas i used to move myself to Sweden with, both with the Peugeot engines in,one turbo, one non turbo, good old busses, always start and chug along forever.
Love the enthusiasm and the skills bringing an old engine back to life. Also like the way the guys talk to you and not at you!. Need a fifty something apprentice?. 🙂
When I worked on the building sites, we used to get picked up in a Sherpa - I HATE those bloody things. It's like putting wheels on a washing machine !
Bang on Gents! Just found your channel this evening. Mainly because I want a mat timber tractor, much to the wife’s dismay. Although she also ended up watching, laughed and said “I like him”. You may have just fought me corner for me!!!
Thanks for the video, at least you finally got that engine figured out and it runs nice, I got a 1060 Nuffeild engine here for a customer, It ran nice for some reason but it's a mess inside ! I really hate that when guys have been in some thing screwing settings up. Belarus's are a good one when it don't work, so they mess with stuff and make it worse if there is a such a thing on them lol. Then you get to fix 2 problems "the original one that stopped it and the new one they created thats now hidden the first issue". The best guys are the ones that then try to tell you how to fix it. There has been more than one told, well you didn't "f" it up just to call me out to see if I knew how to fix it did you. They don't generally stand round long watching or voicing opinions after that comment !. No questions here, I'm sure you'll get plenty of interesting ones ! Take care.
Worked on Brill Coaches which had an AEC horizontally mounted engine under the bus. What a job creator they were. The stunk bad and had no power. Liking your vids from Alberta Canada
Another great and very interesting video. The drive out in the Matador excellent, the pep talk at the beginning still falling on deaf ears. Should have a caption at the end of video " No humans were hurt or injured in the making of the video"
Hi it was great seeing you driving the Matador. It gave me goosebumps when you got that engine running. I was towed back from Wellingborough to Goudhurst ib Kent. That took nearly 8 hours todo.
Nice to see these old engines back up and running . Weather getting better ,so time the restart the projects , starting with the JCB 2D . keep up the good work .
8:59 love that gauge panel, 3 gauges are all anybody really needs. Making obsolete parts for people's restorations is the fun part of my job. Last one was putting a Grey Marine cylinder head back together that was broke like a China plate.
As usual I'm behind love what you're doing to save these lovely old vehicles as a young fella was given for Christmas said matador six wheeler and field gun as a result always had a soft spot for them keep up the hard work it is worth it
Damm it man, now I have to clean my phone after spitting Coca-Cola all over it from the 'Of course he's. F ing a farmer' clip. Nice little drive in that truck.👌👌
Sir you are a very amusing chap cannot get over the comments you made in your last video regarding emissions, free trade tea & monkeys made me laugh please keep doing the videos I have learnt a lot from them & regarding your dog rescue we need more people like you, as the saying goes "the more I see of man the more I love my dog" good luck to you
Love the no tightnes bit (apart from the wallet ) and throwing the easy start as the engine outside cranking pmsl lv u mate keep up good work LM and team
Love the smell of diesel fumes in the morning, another great video, Glad to see another fine piece of British engineering lives again, looks like Matt and his crew do a great job of restoring them.
Loved the eulogy to the twats, you don't need cosby juice with those farts. Driving the matador reminded me of my early days as a retained fireman driving Dennis f26 with rolls Royce 8cylinder petrol the whine in the cab couldn't hear a thing but engine.
Like your comment about the people that were complaining about the fumes. Seems like everyone has an opinion. Like the videos, funny commentary, Thanks for the laughs.
Great video mucka. Made me laugh so much thanks for the entertainment buddy. Always good to see to mates having a laugh working on a project. Would love to pick your brains about our grey cab 3cx as the old girl has lost drive suddenly.
Great stuff Kurt and Matt, exhaust fumes I have no problem with, its the other type fumes that get Me:):):) No questions, I'll just wait for the answers, hello Puppo:):)

I know it won't work on a diesel (it was just a joke)

10/10, would definitely watch again 😂
Nice to see it running!
It wasn't straight forward Wes but it was great to hear it start !
Apparently Jake Paul rebuilt one using old Briggs and Stratton parts...
OMG that is the BEST response I've EVER seen on TH-cam against people with there own opinions !!
FANTASTIC !!!!
Just found your channel. It's addictive. Nice one keep the video's coming!
I just love how you deal with negative comments! Cracks me up well done 👍 and I'm loving how your doing up these old trucks
Thank you for your rant at the beginning of the video.. could not of said it any better..
Brilliant opening monologue! 👏

I love your attitude...very refreshing.
I just love your opening comments on the health n safety guys, totally agree with you.
Great opening comments sir!!! I give you a big salute for those LOL! Excellent video, bet it was fun driving that rig through the country, I get the feeling you really enjoyed making this vid, Thanks!!!
The Human exhaust is more likely kill somebody before the engine exhaust
As Mustie is prone to quip: "...a little more choke and that would have started..."
Fantastic project someone has made a nice stand for the engine
I just saw the picture of grumpy Thunberg ! Brilliant.
You guts have so much talent great to see you both bring great british engineering and history back to life with humour and passion.
I love the first 1 minute 45 seconds 😂😂😂 fair play lord muck 👍
Excellent video, glad you’re keeping Greta happy, keep up the good work cheers terry 👍🚜
A neighbour had a Matador, he called it a timber truck, I remember it had the mother of all winches on it. Glad you got it running.
I’ll say it for you...........’Run the titles’!!!! Great as usual 👌🏻
That Formula 1 bore gauge would make some good merch for your store !!!
This is the first of your videos that I've seen, and I subscribed as soon as you had finished your introduction - can't wait to see more 😀
Always loved AEC vehicles. Always wanted to see an AEC enginge, such as the AV 470 or AV 590 outside the vehicle turn over, fire up and rev up just for the sheer hell of it. They were great in buses and trucks. Nice little video.
Couldn't have put it better myself.. Great intro and as always great informative video.. 👍

Mucker that was fantastic to see you driving the matador it is over 30 years since i drove one with a winch and jib on
😂Excellent rant right off the top! No re-gret(a)s😉
Love the enthusiasm and the skills bringing an old engine back to life. Also like the way the guys talk to you and not at you!. Need a fifty something apprentice?. 🙂
I think a lot of it is because we WANT to do it rather than HAVE to do it.
We might do a couple of 'open days' for folk to join in.
Love the cheach out of the big matador engine, great to see life being given back to those loyal old units
"It's a Sherpa" you crack me up needling him about that truck.
Best regards from Indiana, USA.
Best bit your rant at the beginning Mucker I was in stiches👍
Bloody hell, thought I had a Dads Army video on by mistake right at the start😯👍
When I worked on the building sites, we used to get picked up in a Sherpa - I HATE those bloody things. It's like putting wheels on a washing machine !
Great to see it running and also good to see you test driving the matador. Fills the lane up doesn’t she 👍. Brill video thank you
Bang on Gents! Just found your channel this evening. Mainly because I want a mat timber tractor, much to the wife’s dismay. Although she also ended up watching, laughed and said “I like him”. You may have just fought me corner for me!!!
Very well said. The fumes surely add to and enhance the historic atmosphere. Great video, shame about the grumpy Thunbergers.
