Let's not The guy who went to 4 NFCCGs and 2 Super Bowls with Jimmy G and Mr Irrelevant? The guy who still has the team at 5-5 during an injury-plagued SB-hangover season? That guy? Anybody suggesting Kyle should be fired right now, as the kids say, "don't know ball". They're unserious people and unworthy of wasting your time arguing with. Our fanbase really deserves the "Whiner" moniker.
Don't fire the guy. But he's just as big of a reason for the failure this season as anyone else and arguably cost the team at least 1 superbowl win because of his complete disregard of special teams and inability to adjust his offensive approach. Someone needs to check his ego and force him to make some long overdue changes.
@@connor_phillipz5689 "arguably cost the team at least 1 superbowl" You mean the guy that got us to the Superbowl... "Someone needs to check his ego and force him to make some long overdue changes." Even coaches grow and learn. I would prefer he does that here rather than on another team.
Completely agree. I don’t think ppl understand how hard it is to win the Super Bowl considering the grind it is to make it there in the first place and how only one game determines the championship. Any other major sport has a 5-7 game series except for the NFL
@@musa7606 I want him to stay as well and think he will adjust if actual pressure is put on him. Thusfar he has taken 0 accountability for the team's failure and has shown no growth whatsoever. Maybe that'll happen in the offseason, but all I'm going off of is what we've seen this season and in previous seasons. Nothing I have ever seen from Kyle makes me think he'll look himself in the mirror without outside pressure. That's all I'm saying about that side of things. The idea that Kyle is blameless and we just need to shut up and let him cook is idiotic and I have seen that exact perspective from the opposite side of the "fire Kyle" argument too many times. "Getting to the Superbowl" is not the goal. Winning is the goal and we were a muffed punt and multiple instances of poor protection away from winning last season. Normally that is not enough to blame a coach for, but with Kyle's long track record of effectively ignoring special teams and allowing the Quarterback to take an insane amount of defensive pressure due to his poor protection schemes I fully blame him for mistakes of that magnitude happening in such critical moments. I don't think Kyle is a guy who can't win a superbowl ever. But with his current approach to football it is never going to happen. Which is the primary reason why I think someone needs to "check his ego" like I said and force him to realize that he is part of the problem and needs to change his approach. To be perfectly clear I don't want him fired. But at the same time I don't want things to just continue as they are and for Kyle to skate by while the roster or injuries take all the blame. He is just as much of a problem as every other part of the team and the discussion around him should reflect that.
Here's some perspective. There have been 498 head coaches in the NFL since the beginning of the Superbowl era!!! 35 head coaches have won the Superbowl!!!! 22 have A, A Superbowl!!!! 13 have won MULTIPLE SUPERBOWLS!!!!! 13!!!!!! that's only 6% of all the coaches in the Superbowl era have won it!!!! So it's very very very hard to win it. Everything has to go your way to win it all!!!!!! It is very very hard to win it!!!! Most coaches don't have long term success!!! Kyle has had a lot of the success since he's been here. Kyle doesn't fumble!! Kyle doesn't muff punts!!! Kyle doesn't get injured and now we are very very injured!!!!! It's not easy to win in this league guys. Chill people and grow up!!!! We don't give up!!! Y'all sound like cowboy fans!!! So how about taking your jersey and throw them away and go get you a Dak jersey!!!! Niner fans don't do that!!!! We don't!!!! Kyle is my coach and I hope he stays for the next 20 to 30 years!!!!
True. And im not for firing kyle. But he's in charge of the offense yes? Then HE needs to protect their long term qb better. I understand theres a shortage of good lineman in the nfl but if he is a genius then use that genius to slide protections not just hot a receiver and watch your qb take poundings week in and week out. Again dont fire the guy. But if im lynch whos a former all star id be asking him tough questions about his solutions to the problems plaguing us.
Little too rah rah, Kyle is stubborn, a little self reflection on his part would go s long way, however people always go off the rails. Out of your mind to fire him anytime soon, next 2-3 years
You donnot determine the criteria for fandom. Just as easily you can argue we're crazy for wanting him fired, we can argue you're crazy for not wanting him to be fired.
Literally made no points as to why shanahan is still the guy that can “lead” this team to a Super Bowl . We are becoming the cowboys with two SB losses.
If Kyle can grow some balls and stop playing so conservatively, I'm all for keeping him. He also needs to throw in some more play options when Purdy has less than three seconds to throw the ball. Maybe get an offensive coordinator and focus on being the HC?
Kyle's time is done. He refuses to fix the OLine. He keeps around players after their time is up. Deebo has to go. Bosa has quit trying. It wouldn't matter if we have no separation with the recievers if the line gave Brock time to find the right guy. He drives CMC into the ground because he truly has no idea what to do without him. The defense looks like they threw together a team from retirees. The linebacker position was the backbone and now its the weakness. This whole team just doesn't play like a team. The Linemen on both sides are really bad.
Im going to outline the issues for offense so far. 1. Teams have figured out what the 49ers like, it’s the same with the dolphins, those chunks middle of the field plays are way less open now than they were last year. 2. The built in check downs are for cmc and we didn’t have him until last week and even then by the time Purdy gets past the downfield reads half the time he has to run because the line sucks 3. The oline sucks in pass situations 4. Receivers can’t get open except kittle and aiyuk 5. They last speed. Deebo is washed and can’t even do end around anymore. 6. Shannahan needs to just make the game easy for Purdy. Why does every team run a bunch of screens and or flat routes and the 49ers can’t do the same when they have yac demons, Kansas City runs a shit ton of screens and flat routes. The scheme last year had way more screens. 7. Purdy needs to be better in some of the high throw, but more the most part Purdy has made no win situations wins by either running or using crazy anticipation. Eg. The throw last week to cmc on a double move when cmc didn’t even do the first move yet and aot of the throws to Jennings on Sunday when he was getting blanketed and Purdy literally throws him open or throws it so as soon as he breaks he gets it. 8. Personnel decisions by Shannahan. Gurrendo and cowing should get way more minutes. Gurrendo is the only explosive back who makes good cuts, he can’t really break tackles but he adds explosiveness, cowing is fast
I keep reading fans demand that Kyle take responsibility for what’s happening and cite his arrogance as the source of all of the team’s problems. Can you explain to me what you guys mean by that or expect from him? And how getting that will help the team win games?
@@dominic.rivera In order to correct a problem, you have to first acknowledge that a problem exists. If he doesn't think there's a problem with his coaching, then he's not going to try to correct it.
Hey @Guy I hope you see this comment. I want to share something very specific I’ve learned over the past 20 years-half of which I’ve spent as a director of a large department, seeing lots of people come and go in different professional capacities. The people who do the best aren’t the ones who avoid making mistakes. They’re the ones who get ahead of their mistakes: they acknowledge them, grow from them, and do so publicly-not just privately, but overtly, intentionally, and transparently. This brings me to Kyle. After losing that first Super Bowl with Atlanta, and then the second, especially after the second, here’s where I’ll switch into opinion mode. In my opinion, he should have been overtly transparent with the fan base. Acknowledgment goes such a long way. Nobody expects him to never make mistakes. The issue is his refusal to acknowledge them. That’s a defining, underlying trait-one that can slow down his ability to adapt, grow, evolve, and respond to others figuring him out. It also impacts his ability to select players, have strong opinions on players, and develop effective perspectives. This trait defines everything he does. There’s a natural regression with someone who’s brilliant or a genius-which I do think Kyle is. High performers will generally perform well regardless of external variables. But that doesn’t mean they’ll reach the ultimate goal without additional controlling mechanisms. In this case, his character trait of deflection and refusal to acknowledge mistakes governs his ability to get to that goal post. Without taking a massive loss publicly (or otherwise), I believe he’s incapable of genuinely winning a Super Bowl. Let me leave you with one last note. Taking off my professional hat for a second: Kyle clearly didn’t know the overtime rules. And it’s okay to mess up. But acting like he did, when the whole arena-including Pat Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs-knew he didn’t? Same trait. That’s my issue with Kyle, as it is for a lot of people. It’s why I think we should move on from him.
Very well said, I agree with pretty much everything you said except Kyle being a genius. Geniuses can adapt and are smart enough to realize they aren't perfect and make mistakes. Kyle thinks he's perfect and never does anything wrong. And he's snarky with the media anytime they ask him questions or for clarification. I was in the move on camp after the second Superbowl last year. He's not the guy, simple as that!
@@iosoul Right on the money. It’s such a shame too cause with a little more humility and self reflection, he would be a SB winner by now and possibly one of the best HC’s of all time
@guy read this comment and answer this very simple question, do you believe Kyle can win a Super Bowl with this 49ers team? If no, time for change if yes, I will be back when it’s been another 4-5 years of the same old Kyle and comeback to comment on your inability to see this
It's not the record that people want him fired for. It's his inability to take responsibility and address obvious short comings that have been holding us back for years. The offensive line is a mess with 2 of the worst starters in the nfl and has been awful outside of Trent Williams for years. The special teams rides to games in a short bus. The play calling and player rotation has been awful this year. Campbell is not an NFL player anymore and is slow for a high schooler, let alone a pro. We don't have a real defense coordinator either. This all falls on Shanahan and his ego getting in the way of him taking responsibility for his poor personal decisions and coaching short comings and therefore not addressing them. He's a very good coach (having an awful season) with a fatal flaw that keeps him from overcoming that last obstacle. Only a handful of coaches are better and you can get multiple firsts if you traded him. I'd be ok with that if we get a couple 1st plus Belicheck or Johnson or Spag to take over. But thats not gonna happen...
It all goes over your head. You think you know what you're talking about. Your brain tells you it makes sense. But you've missed the boat. You won't understand this comment, it isn't possible. But what can ya do. I do however wish you luck in your football journey.
See, this is the thing: Kyle Shanahan has value. Firing him would be stupid. If you want to move off of him, TRADE him! Everyone forgets that you can do that. Bill Belichick got traded, Jon Gruden got traded, and if we're being honest, Doug Pederson got fired like two years after WINNING the Superbowl. Kyle Shanahan has now LOST TWO TO THE SAME TEAM! And seriously, even without Ben Johnson, BILL BELICHICK WANTS TO COACH AGAIN! That's the GREATEST COACH EVER, who wants to go coach again. This is the guy who shut down the K Gun and the Greatest show on turf, a defensive coach who is also passionate about special teams. Our special teams would immediately get better, our tackling on defense would immediately be far more reliable, and our clock management would be far better. Kyle Shanahan is a good coordinator, but he's proven to be deficient at basically everything else. Special teams stink, revolving door at defensive coordinator, pounds the table for wide receivers when we need Offensive Lineman and pass rushers. Andy Reid made four straight NFC championship games and got ran out of town with pitchforks and torches back in Philly. If we're not going to hold Kyle accountable now, are we seriously going to have to wait until next year when the team is 2-6 entering the bye? I think we should've known after 2019 that Kyle might not be good enough overall. He's a "genius" on offense, but he's an active negative towards every other part of the game. Bill Belichick is better. It's an easy answer. He's the GOAT. I'm willing to trade any coach for him, and anyone outside Kansas City should feel the same
Exactly, people act like the situation is more complicated than it really is. Belichick has won multiple SB’s for 2 different franchises both as a unit coordinator and a head coach, something Shanahan failed at. If we’re going to have a strict ego manic HC/GM then we might as well get the one who’s an 8x SB champion than keep the guy who’s 0-3 in SB’s
@samiFTW1 THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING! If the greatest coach ever wasn't on the open market this would be a lot more complicated than it is. But Belichick is out there and wants to coach again. He's the most qualified and proven coach in the history of the sport. He's an upgrade for every team except for arguably Kansas City.
Who cares if you can’t win those games we need a coach that can finish the job and Kyle can’t do it. It been proven 3 times twice in San Francisco and once in Atlanta.
People underestimate how good Kyle makes average players. Aiyuk, Samuel, all Niner RB’s (except CMC), Purdy, Jimmy G all got or will get huge paydays because of Kyles offense. Send them to most other teams they would be just another NFL player. I think the problem is Kyle is burnt out and should get an offensive coordinator to help carry the load.
That’s pretty telling of Kyle’s talent evaluation then considering he’s the one that calls the shots. The players he expects to be good are mid and the players he expects to be simply depth just happen to be good, thankfully cause he lets our scouting team handle the late round picks while he focuses on the early ones. As far as bringing in an OC, I 100% agree but unfortunately Shanahan is not willing to do that. For him, it’s my way or the highway, which is probably why he turned down Brady without even a contract offer when Brady wanted to come here in the 2020 offseason
So we're just supposed to keep him forever? I can think 6-7 other current head coaches who would've won at least one Super Bowl with the loaded roster. I think getting rid of him is the right move. He used to just choke away leads in the Super Bowl and now he's doing it every other game. A coach who is 0-40 when losing in the 4th quarter is not worth keeping, no matter how many NFC championships and Super Bowls he hands to the other team.
I’ve been Anti-Fire Shanahan for years now. However, what I will say is that it’s possible that a great coach sometimes outstays their welcome at an organization and there’s rarely a way around that other than cutting ties and moving on. We’ve seen it happen to great coaches before, notably Andy Reid. I’m not saying that we’ve hit the wall with Shanahan and the 49ers union, but it’s not unusual for this to ultimately be the outcome if an immediate turnaround the next 1-2 seasons isn’t shown.
I think we’re already at that point tbh. Shanahan already blew a SB for us back in 2019 and we gave him chances to redeem himself. He had his other chance at winning a SB this past February and he failed once again. This team looks unmotivated and checked out and I can’t necessarily blame them. I appreciate Shanahan for building this team up and the memories but it’s clear that his way of doing things is not working. 8 years and no SB win… more successful coaches have been fired for less
How much is Kyle paying you and David Lombardi to put these videos out? Eagles fired Andy Reid for Chip Kelly, and ended up winning a Super Bowl with Doug Pederson and a backup QB before Reid got one in KC. SPARE US THE SHANAHAN PROPAGANDA
I wouldn't fire him on his record and his past success. I'm firing him because he's lost this team. He is not a leader. He doesn't play his best players. He doesn't take accountability for special teams and defense. People are tired of his arrogance.. He continues to roll with Campbell, Jake Moody and others. He doesn't play rookies or younger players unless there's an injury. We are a run first team and he refuses to play Jordan Mason and Guerrendo. He expects his defense to hold teams to under 20, while he gets to score 17 points. He is a bad coach right now. We need to move on, I'm not worried about him going anywhere as a head coach and winning. He may win as an OC if he is employed by a strong leader that tells him what to do, but he will never win a super bowl as a head coach until he looks in the mirror.
How do you know he’s lost the team? And he knows his personnel better than we do so getting upset because he doesn’t play who you prefer is asinine. And don’t single out Campbell because most of these dudes are not playing championship football. Get out your feelings bro
Do you guys have eyeballs 👀? He's playing Mason at kick returner lol.. Campbell is trash and won't be on the team next year... He targets Deebo when everyone can see he no longer has it or hat at least lost a step or two. Brendal and McCivitz are not good.. It take injuries to play younger players who are clearly better, thats how's i know. Why dont you watch the games instead of focusing on my comments homeboy. The team is 5-5 and it shouldn't be. Plenty of coaches would do better with this roster this year, Kyle Shanahan is cooked.
At this point Shanahan needs to go. His game management and his poor staffing roster decisions have cost us not one but TWO SB’s and the worst part is, he refuses to take accountability or grow. This is his 8th year coaching, this is who he is. He will never win a SB here or anywhere else
Something needs to change with cupcake Kyle's playcalling, his game plan, his attitude. Kyle needs to adapt and evolve and I don't think he's going to do that. It's going to be the same brand offense.
Man it’s been 8 season with this guy. 3 losing season 4 winning season. This guy can win and go deep. He just need new toys and draft better. And maybe a offensive coordinator to not be so redundant
Yeah… you can’t fire him until it looks like what the cowboys currently look like, miss the playoffs/get beaten bad in the first round followed by a year where they’re a 5 win team and he loses the locker room. Maybe next year at this time this could be a real topic if they’re 3-8
Guy! You are right! So how long should we keep Shanahan? One thing is for sure…. Shanahan will not win a superbowl until he is willing to eat humble pie and understand that right now, every decent Defensive Coordinator has his number.
Exactly guy puts it in great perspective who wants to coach here if you’ll get fired after going to 2 Super Bowl in five years and 4 nfccg in a row and you’re considered a bad coach it’s not even a losing season yet
We fired Harbaugh after going to 3 NFCCG’s in a row and a SB, Belichick got fired despite winning 6 SB’s for the Patriots, Carrol got fired after going to back to back SB’s and winning 1 of them, Reid got fired after going to 5 NFCCG’s and a SB with the Eagles, Pederson got fired 3 years after winning the SB. Shanahan is most certainly not untouchable considering he’s lost 2 SB’s for this franchise already and blew it in 2 other NFCCG’s on top of that
Which coach do they want instead? One from the NFC East? No. NFC North? Maybe Campbell, but let’s see what he does this year and after he loses his coordinators. NFC South? No. NFC West? Maybe McVay. Kyle is more consistent, but McVay won a SB. AFC West? Just Reid. AFC North? No. AFC South? No. AFC East? No. These are the same people that were happy we got rid of Harbaugh for Tomsula after 1 off year.
The real challenge here, at least IMHO, is that the Niners don’t have the players that they had just a year or two ago. Signing Aiyuk for that price was a huge mistake and has set them back - and will continue to set them back. Deebo is a great guy but he has clearly lost a step. The defense is nothing special. Kyle can be a bit set in his ways but he is still an elite coach. He would be picked up in a second if the Niners let him go. This just might be one of those years where they don’t make it to the playoffs and need to reboot and get younger. Always enjoy your takes, Guy!
It's not the record it's certain things he does that don't change. He runs 1 running back into the ground. His offense is predictable. Everything is 10 yards middle of the field. He doesn't adjust. He makes bad decisions in the 4th quarter. And that's just off the top of my head
@ what’s even more wild to me is that Kyle finally found his QB. It’s only going to get better even it we somehow miss the playoffs this year. These kyle should be fired takes come from that Cohn heads. They just regurgitate something he said and take it as truth.
Sad , pathetic, and defeatist. I thought the 49er Standard was to win Super Bowls, not to be content with being relevant. Kyle Shanahan hasn’t shown me that he’ll get over the hump. More so just doubling down on his ego and refusing to address issues for the last 8 years (OLine, Better Passing Concepts, Game Management, Critical Situations, …)
Here's some history. Everyone loves using Andy Reid; well Philly did win a SB before Andy Reid won his. Which means they dumped Andy and won. Mark Jackson was a winner, but they dumped him for Kerr. Del Harris won with that Lakers team, but they dumped him for Phil Jackson. Didn't TB trade for Gruden to win a Bowl? Kyle is incapable of winning a Superbowl. Here's why. He doesn't prioritize Oline, he either coaches or tolerates the penalties, mistakes. He disregards special teams. And he picks his WR's that continually cannot separate. His red zone play calling and in game management is atrocious. He's gone through like 7 QB's now. It's year 8 and all of his losses are the exact same. 1. Score 20 or under. 2. Injury. 3. Penalties. 4. Turnover. 5. Bad game mgmt. 6. Poor Oline play. Rinse & Repeat.
Dan Quinn was fired. But learned to be a better head coach from it. Bill Belichick was fired from the browns and was better for it. Gruden better for it won't the superbowl with the bucs. Andy Reid fired no better for it. I can keep naming examples. Sometimes a change can create a better change for how to improve as a coach.
I called it before the season when everyone was fat and happy i said y'all will be wanting Kyle fired half way through the season and here we are now watching him still win the division from a wild card spot lol
I'm not saying it needs to happen today, but they do need to find a replacement, this guy doesn't have the mindset to win it big, his plays are good but his management isn't upto par, the league has figured out his schemes, he can't get over this run of a wide back, hasn't worked all season, wastes a down and tires out the player
Kyle Shanahan is not going to win a Superbowl championship in SF. He has serious flaws that play on repeat. He refuses to even acknowledge these flaws, let alone correct them. We've seen enough to know this. He needs to go.
Fire Shanahan! Cuz in 5 years he’ll be sitting on his couch with his old man, who only won two SBs btw cuz he had a HOF QB and RB on his team, watching Sunday football together.
1 example of why everyone is looking at this separation stat completely wrong, the stat is calculated at time of reception how close the defender is. Not time of throw. Time of reception. Therefore if CMC is Wide open in the flat but Brock has to loft it up over the DE to get it there. In that time , the defender closes to within 3 feet, now is that really a problem of CMC not separating. Yet it goes into this stat. Brock anticipates a lot to compensate for less powerful arm but if he's slow on anticipation defenders will close on receivers. This is fact. Not trying to solely blame Brock but to blame only the receivers is not correct. Getting a burner and replacing Deebo is not some miracle cure.
This is true but if you watch the tape. Deebo actually doesn’t get open and Jennings doesn’t either against good corners. Kittle and cmc are the only man beaters but the line sucks. Some of the throws to Jennings on Sunday most and wouldn’t even try because he was barely open or not even close to being open when the ball was thrown
Grant Cohen and his bandwagon crusade to fire Kyle paints every content creator in a bad light. No one takes him on. He makes a living piling on Kyle S, Kyle J, Deebo, Brock, and Bosa.
Kyle has cemented himself & deserves at least another 2 yrs after this season to reload this roster. He might need to rethink his philosophy in terms of team building. Less skill positions & build the trenches. Lions are dominant because of their O Line & run game. Having a consistent run game creates efficient passing games. 49ers might need to trade Brock & two 1st rd picks for Burrow. 😂
@@paulyang748 The way he blew 2 SB’s for us and never took any accountability for his mistakes, I say he quite literally did the opposite of cementing himself. All these changes u say he needs to make, I know for a fact that he won’t because he believes that his scheme and philosophy is always right regardless of personnel, opponent, or situation. Either York needs to force his hand or Shanahan needs to go
@@paulyang748 In 2019 we rode off the backs of an elite defense and the league was still fairly new to Shanahan’s scheme. As for Purdy, he may not have the strongest arm but he’s a top 10 QB, was an MVP finalist last year, and more often than not he doesn’t fold when the game is on the line. He’s not Jimmy 2.0 like u think he is
@samiFTW1 Purdy's limitations is why we can't score long TDs. We would of been in the game vs KC but he under threw those deep balls. U must be a young kid who didn't see 2012 SB when we practically choked the whole game. Big play after big play. Until we couldn't win it. Of course he needs to make some changes. Have u seen Andy Reid in his Philly days? He is now considered a top 5 HC after getting a QB who might be the GOAT after it's all said & done. Purdy being a top 10 QB is very questionable. He's a good QB but im not convinced he will be close to an all time great. Go check how many teams have won the SB without having an all time great QB. U be surprised that it's not often.
I just think Kyle isn’t a great leader. Lacks charisma, isn’t inspiring , from what I hear he doesn’t coach up players. Eventually that kind of leader will lose confidence by some people. I’m not sure Kyle has that fire and super competitive spirit in him. I think his ceiling is an OC. But I don’t think we fire Kyle now. Even if it ends badly I’d probably give him another season to see if it turns around. I’d contemplate forcing him to hire a real OC that can call plays, maybe take roster control from him and give it to Lynch - so we can get an O line. Either that or I’d force him to hire an assistant head coach that acts like a head coach while Kyle is calling plays, and someone that can really inspire guys and pump them up. I’ve just never listened to Kyle and thought that’s a real leader, that’s someone I’d like to work for.
Second most successful coach in 49ers history. Did all this without the best QB in the league. Firing him would be one of the dumbest thing any franchise ever did. Might be the best coach in the league. Look at Belechick, and Reid's record without the best QB in the league.
Nah he’s third, George Seifert is second. He won 2 SB’s unlike Shanahan who’s lost 2. Keeping Shanahan and letting him make the same mistakes and waste our talent would be dumber than doing what’s necessary and bringing in someone new. Shanahan is currently in year 8 and has not won a SB. U don’t need the best QB in the league to win. Purdy is a top 10 QB who’s good enough to win a SB with and we could’ve even won with Jimmy had Shanahan kept running the ball late in the 4th of SB 54
NO ITS NOT CRAZY. You just said it’s not crazy to suggest he has flaws, weaknesses and blind spots. When has he ONCE admitted any of those things or HE needs to be better. He is a horrible leader and this has been an issue for years. It’s always that’s football or bad luck and execution which means it’s his players fault always cause he always has solutions built into every play. He knows football this is true. But he is not a leader. I mean a team this talented with a culture problem, come on it’s disgusting. And there’s clearly a culture problem. And that is the coaches fault. Anyway there’s so much more. But find me one clip of him owning up talking about HIM needing to be better or take tough questions or criticism without acting like a 3 year old….. I’ll wait???
@ the players are professionals too . If they don’t care then they have the wrong players . Remember when Singletary told his team that he wants winners ?
@ and I am not so sure that it is a good thing telling the team they lost because of him . How much confidence would they have in him ? Right now the players have a relationship with the coach , maybe they see and understand things the people on the outside don’t . Like the fans . Remember the media is the go between from the team to us . The media can put some thoughts in our minds about something that may not be an issue . I listen to the main reporters who have their own you tube channel now that used to be in radio with knbr and some outside the team perspective that evaluates the team . If and when the culture is broken and he loses the team it probably would be a consensus among them
SHANAHAN DOESNT INSPIRE HIS TEAM..LIKE A GRAY CLOUD, NO WONDER THE TEAM ISNT ALL IN..NOT LIKE A PETE CARROLL OR DAN CAMPBELL, WHO INSPIRE HIS PLAYERS AND THEYD RUN THROUGH A WALL FOR THER COACH...HE ALWAYS LOOKS PISSY.
The only reason we made thought the playoffs last year is because Brock made something out of the Broken plays and lousy play calling by Kyle Shanahan.
Kyle cant fix the redzone offense. Kyle is good. Not great. This team is ⛽. Kyle looks like someone who is not interested anymore. His offense is very predictable. If all Kyle is gonna do is use CMC all game then pack it in. They ran Bosa into the ground. Eventually ownership will get tired of getting close, but never winning . That will weigh heavy on the shoulders of ownership. If this team doesn't turn it around and we are sitting here next year in the same position? I think even Kyle fans will wonder themselves why can't Kyle fix this? It's gonna get old real soon. In the coming years. Kittles is getting older. Same with deebo. Even Brock isn't playing like a 60 million dollar QB. In the off season this team needs to make some adjustments on offense and defense. Kyle needs to come up with some GOOD plays. This team looks dead. 17 points? I rest my case. Sorenson isn't the guy for the job. The coaches we had success with all left. I doubt Kyle can adjust at this point in his career.
With respect..those back to back to back..and 3 straight choke jobs. Only gonna get worse.. kyle controls the " whole team" defense down to ST's...this team is out of sync. You can see it. And the yorks are not winning owners..they just wants the revenue..kyle needs to go. Or get a offense coordinator or just go. His draft picks are also questionable. Remind me again how did seifert get fired?.stop man i get its yes man for fans etc..but stop..we are not the damn cowboys
Niners fans over 35 years old have seen at least 1 SB win in their lifetime, of course they’re content with just being in the mix. Meanwhile I’m 25 years old, to me this is basically a ringless franchise and all my generation has seen is going 0-3 in SB’s and losing to 2 different divisional rivals in the NFCCG before watching them win it all 2 weeks later. We are frustrated and we just want to see this team close it out for ONCE so we can see our first SB win, I personally don’t give a damn about the 5 that happened before I was even born
@@samiFTW1 Yeah I’d love to win another too but as Guy pointed out you don’t fire a coach that has made 3 straight NFC championships just because you’re upset he didn’t win the Super Bowl. If you’re consistently good and in the mix you can get that push over the edge and win it all. It’s how it’s worked for just about every team.
Guy, love your work but do not buy your premise in this stream.. You make the same argument on Kyle that rarely ever pans out. Once Head Coaches make their run and fail at the highest level they rarely ever break through,,,, finally. Dick Vermeil and Andy Reid are the only two modern H/C's to fail then succeed at the highest level.. Had it not been for late round picks contributing the last 3 seasons and the miracle selection of Brock Purdy the 49ers would've been non competitive the 2022 season forward. Time to rebuild and whoever it was who had final say on this regime's #1's selections, the Trey Lance disaster needs to go.. Whoever was responsible for all their late round picks needs to be promoted. Trade Kyle for picks and hire a sharp offensive mind with leadership management/delegation skills and get this organization turned around. Kyle is not the answer. The only thing that saved him was tremendous contributions from late round draft picks and his ability to get his guys to lay their bodies down season after season. He never improved his personnel management skills, has regressed/failed to adjust his offense to the point of mediocrity and has lost the locker room. Nobody from training camp forward bought in this season.. That February Super Bowl loss sealed his fate, IMHO..
Who cares if he won three nfc championships it does matter if we’re 5-5 towards the end of the season he chokes he won’t be the hottest name a loser team in a serious very long rebuild desperate if they have big bag for Kyle he will go Into irrelevance indeed unless Seattle hires him or Giants or jets . We need a coach who will innovate and stay fresh the Niners a team which is the most studied team’s playbook strategies wise in the NFL Kyle has ignored special teams for two years meh he moves along the John Lynch era may end he in the end is responsible for this mess . managing a team also means the coach !
Bring in an actual GM with final say of the 53 and give him less power. He’s a nepo baby and king of the castle right now. Passed on scouting Mahomes, passed on Brady then wanted him after Brock had a good season, wasted 3 first round picks on Lance, and now his offense is clearly pedestrian. His best days are behind him. With the salary cap issues looming for this team it’s clear.
lol look at you wtf man those mistakes he made were colossal some say he got Trey was he could be shaped like clay as for mahomes or Brady Kyle instinctively knew he would Not be the shot caller on the field Patrick and Brady both would be play callers and also provision pass protection clauses Kyle feels they make more money than him therefore they are to work no pass protection oh and all the play calling is built in with no adjusting for factors until half time yeah that’s coach your advocating for 😂😂
There is no better coach that we could get, we are where we are because of him (which is better than 99% of the franchises). So we’re having a rough season, it happens.
Here's some perspective. The Lions have scored 47+ three times this year. Kyle in 8 seasons have done that just twice. There's SB winning offenses like the 2019 Chiefs 1994 49ers 1989 49ers and the 2024 Lions, and there's Kyle's offense always scoring under 20 in big games. The 49ers haven't won a bowl in 30 years. In that time 15 teams have won a SB (half the league) including the Cowboys, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Rams twice... Kyle is not winning a SB w/ SF. But the Yorks don't demand a SB win, they demand what most York 49er fans demand. Keep Kyle forever.
Bro, no disrespect but my 11 year old son who just got his first copy of madden could call better plays in tough situations than Kyle Shannahan. You could hire me for $1m and I’d do a better job. It’s not rocket science. It’s a billion dollar organization and this just isn’t good enough.
It is about time to let him go. He hasn’t won with arguably the best roster of all time. Why would any successful businessman allow him to stay employed after Kyle has wasted so many resources and opportunities. 2025 he’s out for sure. The Jork’s will be forced to because they have to make a decision on Purdy which is a 300 million decision.
There’s something to be said about veterans checking out. It’s been 8 years, the message may not be landing the same. And the youth waiting in the wings is less than impressive. So you’re hoping Kyle can engineer another rebuild when the last few drafts have been mediocre at best.
"about veterans checking out" There's some salary that needs to be trimmed. "youth waiting in the wings is less than impressive" I don't think we have any idea about "the youth in the wings".
@ we know plenty about the youth. Look at how many of the draft picks from the past 3 drafts are contributing. Not many. The jury is still out on this year’s draft, but the team hasn’t restocked.
@@gianalbertosfg Past 3 drafts.... 2022: 9 players taken, 4 with 20+ games played, another with 19 2023: 9 guys taken, 4 with 20+ games played 2024: 8 guys taken, 4 with 10 games played, and Pearsall looks pretty good so far. Notable names: Pearsall*, Brown, Moody (jury is out, but he is the starter), Burford, Purdy, Puni, Mustapha. That's 6 starters and another likely.
@ Burford isn’t a starter and more than likely won’t get a second contract. Neither will Moody and Brown. Jury is still out on this year, although Puni and Mustapha do look great.
In Kyle, we trust.... Purdy needs to step up and be dynamic, end of story. We are in a quarterback era now. Look at Tom Brady, and Patrick Mahomes because if they fire Kyle and he goes to a different organization and wins multiple championships, I am going to be pissed...
Genuinely blows my mind how people still have faith in Kyle after looking at his body of postseason work going back to SB 51. Purdy is a top 10 QB and is good enough to win a SB with. He needs a HC that will let him make adjustments and who actually believes in pass protection. Kyle is too rigid and Purdy has to follow his script. Belichick and Reid knew that players win the game, coaches lose em, thus they let Brady and Mahomes take over and let them cook when the game is on the line, hell McVay even understood this and simply let Stafford and Kupp do their thing during the game winning drive of SB 56
@ I guess you miss losing every year. Harbough and Kyle are the only Niners coaches in this millennium to get them to the Super Bowl. I definitely don’t have that much faith in the Yorks to hire back to back good coaches and GM’s
love the new angle! Much warmer atmosphere for the pod on yt 🙌🏼
I can always count on you being the voice of reason, guy.
Stop overpaying for old injured veterans they need to learn how to move on from them
Let's not
The guy who went to 4 NFCCGs and 2 Super Bowls with Jimmy G and Mr Irrelevant? The guy who still has the team at 5-5 during an injury-plagued SB-hangover season? That guy?
Anybody suggesting Kyle should be fired right now, as the kids say, "don't know ball". They're unserious people and unworthy of wasting your time arguing with. Our fanbase really deserves the "Whiner" moniker.
Don't you know?! Mike McCarthy might come available! Mike is a REAL WINNER! Bring Mike back to the bay! :)
Don't fire the guy. But he's just as big of a reason for the failure this season as anyone else and arguably cost the team at least 1 superbowl win because of his complete disregard of special teams and inability to adjust his offensive approach. Someone needs to check his ego and force him to make some long overdue changes.
@@connor_phillipz5689 "arguably cost the team at least 1 superbowl"
You mean the guy that got us to the Superbowl...
"Someone needs to check his ego and force him to make some long overdue changes."
Even coaches grow and learn.
@Thebayxtola 2? Ummm what?
It's 3 bud. KP, JG, and BP. Can you count?
I am all for firing any FortyWhiner fans who want to play Coach Roulette and fire Shanahan!
Agreed
If Kyle can grow some balls and stop playing so conservatively, I'm all for keeping him. He also needs to throw in some more play options when Purdy has less than three seconds to throw the ball. Maybe get an offensive coordinator and focus on being the HC?
Either way Kyle is on his way out
@black_kage60s39 I mean... One day. On his way out.... Veeeeerrrrrryyyyyy slllllooooowwewllllllyyyyy....
2. The built in check downs are for cmc and we didn’t have him until last week and even then by the time Purdy gets past the downfield reads half the time he has to run because the line sucks
3. The oline sucks in pass situations
4. Receivers can’t get open except kittle and aiyuk
I don’t want to fire him, but his arrogance and unwillingness to take responsibility is clearly part of the problem.
If no, time for change if yes, I will be back when it’s been another 4-5 years of the same old Kyle and comeback to comment on your inability to see this
Does Shanahan even have a coaching edge over the other 3 division opponents right now? The evidence points to no.
We certainly need to EVALUATE...
A coach who lacks humility when it comes to blind spots is a major red flag
It all goes over your head. You think you know what you're talking about. Your brain tells you it makes sense. But you've missed the boat. You won't understand this comment, it isn't possible. But what can ya do. I do however wish you luck in your football journey.
@@revenant101 You're comment said literally nothing. Vague and pointless.
Kyle has 8 years that is long enough
Exact 💯 were tired kyle excuses and press conference crying
Fire Kyle now
Um they fired Harbaugh🤔
Good show guy! You made a lot of sense and put some things in perspective. It was needed for the fans to get a common sense reset . It gives us hope
In year 2035 all these shanastans will keep saying but he took us to two SB’s and 3 NFC championships 🤦♂️
Who cares if you can’t win those games we need a coach that can finish the job and Kyle can’t do it. It been proven 3 times twice in San Francisco and once in Atlanta.
idiot
Players have off years. Coaches have off years. Problem is special teams have been off for years.
Middlekauff was tearing down Ben Johnson on his podcast in an effort to take up for Kyle! Chokehan definitely have his loyal supporters in the media!

It take injuries to play younger players who are clearly better, thats how's i know. Why dont you watch the games instead of focusing on my comments homeboy. The team is 5-5 and it shouldn't be. Plenty of coaches would do better with this roster this year, Kyle Shanahan is cooked.
I'm more interested in getting Salah back than losing Shanahan. I think we'll be able to keep him as DC for a while.
If he wants to be a DC, he’ll be a DC with the Packers, not with us.
At this point Shanahan needs to go. His game management and his poor staffing roster decisions have cost us not one but TWO SB’s and the worst part is, he refuses to take accountability or grow. This is his 8th year coaching, this is who he is. He will never win a SB here or anywhere else
I dont know what we are talking here. We r saying ppl dont get fired for not performing their job? If kyle loses the lockerroom he will be fired.
Very very well said, Guy! Good vid
Something needs to change with cupcake Kyle's playcalling, his game plan, his attitude. Kyle needs to adapt and evolve and I don't think he's going to do that. It's going to be the same brand offense.
Kyle has been holding this team back. 4 NFCCG and 2 SB appearances with 0 SB rings!!! He would have 7 rings by now if we had Ben Johnson
Man it’s been 8 season with this guy. 3 losing season 4 winning season. This guy can win and go deep. He just need new toys and draft better. And maybe a offensive coordinator to not be so redundant
Its not like we havent had the same coach for almost a decade… i think its time for a change.
No
This is why no one pays you to make big decisions.
everyone is so afraid to lose kyle. nick sirriani isnt as good obviously but has a similar amount of success as a HC so go figure.

They made this mistake before with Jim Harbaugh. It’s a better chance a new coach gets us a 3-13 season over winning a Super Bowl in one season.
How many 8 years do we have?
Which coach do they want instead? One from the NFC East? No. NFC North? Maybe Campbell, but let’s see what he does this year and after he loses his coordinators. NFC South? No. NFC West? Maybe McVay. Kyle is more consistent, but McVay won a SB. AFC West? Just Reid. AFC North? No. AFC South? No. AFC East? No.
These are the same people that were happy we got rid of Harbaugh for Tomsula after 1 off year.
Have a good day sir
The real challenge here, at least IMHO, is that the Niners don’t have the players that they had just a year or two ago. Signing Aiyuk for that price was a huge mistake and has set them back - and will continue to set them back. Deebo is a great guy but he has clearly lost a step. The defense is nothing special. Kyle can be a bit set in his ways but he is still an elite coach. He would be picked up in a second if the Niners let him go. This just might be one of those years where they don’t make it to the playoffs and need to reboot and get younger. Always enjoy your takes, Guy!
Deebo isn’t even a great guy. He showed his true colors when he choked his long snapper and punched his kicker. Who the fuck does that?
It's not the record it's certain things he does that don't change. He runs 1 running back into the ground. His offense is predictable. Everything is 10 yards middle of the field. He doesn't adjust. He makes bad decisions in the 4th quarter. And that's just off the top of my head

@@steveo601I mean the guy took us several NFC championships and 2 super bowls. I think firing him is a pretty lazy take
@@steveo601 "Hi, I'm Steve and I cherrypicked a dumb stat that says nothing about how good of a coach Shanahan is..."
Please DO NOT FIRE KYLE SHANAHAN.................
TRADE his azz ASAP!
No way. one bad season. Thats not funny
I called it before the season when everyone was fat and happy i said y'all will be wanting Kyle fired half way through the season and here we are now watching him still win the division from a wild card spot lol
Kyle the CHOKE Shanahan. He'll break the record for the most late 4th qtr lead in nfl history and he'll do it as a 49ers HC. CHOKE!
One day Kyle will win a Super Bowl. It won't be with Brock, but one day. I'll say around 2027-2028. After the second rebuild is complete.
The 49ers run for the Lombardi ended wiith Greenlaws injury. You could just sense that their run was over.
He’s returning next week
Nah it was when Shanahan refused to give CMC the ball during our last drive of regulation then decided to kick a FG in OT after deciding to receive
The aiyuk contract is looking rough. He’s a good receiver but not for the amount he got. Should’ve traded him.
Kyle Shanahan is not going to win a Superbowl championship in SF. He has serious flaws that play on repeat. He refuses to even acknowledge these flaws, let alone correct them. We've seen enough to know this. He needs to go.
He is the reason why we’re a poverty franchise
Exactly, his ego is holding our team back and his pros no longer outweigh his cons. Should’ve been gone after SB 58
@@samiFTW1 Should’ve been gone about 54. He’s the reason why we’re a poverty franchise. Fuck Shanahan and fuck Purdy.
People have a shit memory.CLEARLY they don't remember the years outside of Harbaugh and Kyle. It's awful.
you pretend kyle is the only good coach
My theory is 90% of these "fire shanny" folks are 23 or younger. I'd bet a good deal on it.
We made this mistake before with Steve in 2002 and flopped from 2003-10
Tired of this paranoia. Firing Shanahan doesn’t mean we’re going to end up hiring an idiot. Ben Johnson is available, so is Belichick matter a fact
clearly you dont remember super bowls
Grant Cohen and his bandwagon crusade to fire Kyle paints every content creator in a bad light. No one takes him on. He makes a living piling on Kyle S, Kyle J, Deebo, Brock, and Bosa.
No fire kyle but needs help consultant advise ideas but kyle doesn't like to be questioned
Grant Cohn is creating this narrative it’s annoying and these young niners fans are zombies to his channel
Very good guy. About firing Kyle.
Either York needs to force his hand or Shanahan needs to go
@samiFTW1 He blew two SBs. Reid couldn't get to one in KC with a limited QB. Shanny has gotten to two SBs with QBs who can barely throw a deep ball.
U be surprised that it's not often.
it also takes a coach needing a great QB,Kyle wil never have one
Everyone knew the niners were going to he hung over. The line sucks, and they overpaid a couple guys. Its the line, run and pass.
49er fans want kyle to 0 and 17 b4 he gets fired😂😂😂
And replace him with who? Ridiculous.
Why is it so hard to say "it's my fault that team lost"?? Kyle never takes the blame for the game. Always someone else to blame.
What difference would it make , just to feel better about the person ?
@@dannotary951 There is no accountability. If HC does that, why would millionaire players care? It's the whole culture of the locker room.
If and when the culture is broken and he loses the team it probably would be a consensus among them
Click bait headline. Like Guy and know you’re going to talk reason, but that headline is manipulative.
The only reason we made thought the playoffs last year is because Brock made something out of the Broken plays and lousy play calling by Kyle Shanahan.
that is rewriting history. last year brock had the most open targets out of anyone almost ever.
Chicken salad
These people would have fired Walsh during that '88 season... especially once he started throwing Young out there and he struggled for the most part 🤣
don't ever compare Kyle Shanahan to Bill Walsh
Didn’t Walsh have 2 rings before the 88 season?
@@Jerbear767 No one compared the two, only you.
I don’t know anyone over 35 years old that says to fire Kyle. It’s never someone who’s been through multiple rebuilds.
Me. Shanahan is the reason why we’ve been a poverty franchise for the last decade.
@ I don’t think you know what “poverty franchise” means.
@@samiFTW1 We’re also old enough to remember the early 2000’s with Mike Nolan or Singletary.
And hire who? Let the man cook. Its an off year boo hoo
Who cares if he won three nfc championships it does matter if we’re 5-5 towards the end of the season he chokes he won’t be the hottest name a loser team in a serious very long rebuild desperate if they have big bag for Kyle he will go
Into irrelevance indeed unless Seattle hires him or Giants or jets .
We need a coach who will innovate and stay fresh the Niners a team which is the most studied team’s playbook strategies wise in the NFL Kyle has ignored special teams for two years meh he moves along the John Lynch era may end he in the end is responsible for this mess .
managing a team also means the coach !
Listening to all of this makes me wanna 🥱🤢🤮
Guy you always cut off the end of your lives. Got to have a period of not saying anything then end it.
Buffalo Bills. Lost every super bowl appearance. Grrat team .
So we’re having a rough season, it happens.
ignorance
Mike McCarthy is waiting!
If you think punching in different plays is the only thing holding this team back from winning, you really have no idea what's happening

Who are you getting if fire only one time 5and 5 now he is bad

It is about time to let him go. He hasn’t won with arguably the best roster of all time. Why would any successful businessman allow him to stay employed after Kyle has wasted so many resources and opportunities. 2025 he’s out for sure. The Jork’s will be forced to because they have to make a decision on Purdy which is a 300 million decision.
Haha
There’s something to be said about veterans checking out. It’s been 8 years, the message may not be landing the same. And the youth waiting in the wings is less than impressive. So you’re hoping Kyle can engineer another rebuild when the last few drafts have been mediocre at best.

There's some salary that needs to be trimmed.
"youth waiting in the wings is less than impressive"
I don't think we have any idea about "the youth in the wings".

Look at how many of the draft picks from the past 3 drafts are contributing. Not many.
The jury is still out on this year’s draft, but the team hasn’t restocked.
@@gianalbertosfg Past 3 drafts....

Keep Kyle. Fire Lynch. The roster construction is atrocious. Overpaying old players because he hasn’t drafted replacements
You think Lynch has the final say on personnel? No way. Kyle signs off on all roster decisions.
Name someone you KNOW will be better than Kyle and I might start listening…
This is a stupid way of thinking. You could resurrect the corpse of Bill Walsh and he might not be able to win. There’s way too many variables.

It was dumb to fire Harbough and it would be id10tic to fire Shanahan.
It would be the right decision. Shanahan is holding us back.
