I STILL have this album, but as a child, I listened to it every night at bedtime until I was about 9 or 10. I'd listen to the first side, flip it to the second side, and drift off to sleep. Listening to these songs is still comforting 😂❤
Listened to this LP a thousand times as a kid. Never got tired of it. Great treatment of a wonderful movie score, and the two bonus songs are unforgettable (for me, that is).

Thanks for uploading! I still have this record and still play it on occasion. I just ADORE the arrangements of 'The Bare Necessities' and 'Trust In Me,' with that gospel-style organ!
I am soooo glad to find this! I had a cassette tape version of this album from the 80s that I found at a Goodwill in the late 90s that I played over and over and over and eventually lost. I missed these versions and never thought I'd hear them again!
9:30 is an upbeat rendition of a classic "Aba Daba Honeymoon". This song was first introduced by Collins and Harlan in 1914, and then later became a classic by Debbie Reynolds, and Helen Kane (the Betty Boop girl) in 1950. This version was the one that used Hanna-Barbera sound FX on this one. The label you see here is a later pressing from the late 70's and early 80's using the "Rainbow" variant. Previous releases used the yellow label with the "2 Castles" variant, but I'll have to find the original copy with the yellow label in the future. Disneyland did put out label variants on albums used between the 1960's and 1970's.
These renditions of Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You are the exact ones I heard on the read along version of Jungle Book! In that there are brief synopsis. On this record we get to hear the entire track! This is wonderful! :)
1:55 This version of "The Bare Necessities" starts with a sound-a-like of the opening guitar lick from "I'm A Believer" by The Monkees. If it was meant as a musical joke it would've been more fitting at the start of "I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song)".
Nice 1970s repress you got there. This album is also a favorite of beat diggers. De La Soul via Prince Paul used the horns in the introduction of “Abba Dabba” if you listen carefully, for example! And this was the first record that I learned to take care of properly. Peace.
I ran across that on TH-cam at some point... it's weird... like the same arrangements but different, and was it an official Disneyland album?? I have found it only once!
@@67leighton it was on here a while ago. Tunes were much more catchy and updated. It was actually 1974- the Menagerie Melody Makers. Had the album as a child.

There are so many great songs on this album and they’re all my favorites. My sister and I used to listen to this album a lot growing up.
A whole lot of people here who grew up listening to this record! :)
Others, like me that happened to discover this and love it.

Thanks for the upload! Other versions on TH-cam aren't quite right. This is the album I had growing up :)
The most played LP in our house in the early 1970s.
