    Try looking for an right angle USB C to USB A Cable. That should work nicely with your setup. And because it is USB C you can have one Cable go to the left and the other to the right at the bottom of each screen. Or both in the same direction if it suits your setup better.

      Yeah I’m sure there is a simple solution but the ones it comes with are pretty meaty. But that’s literally the only “bad” thing I could really come up with. They look and function great.

    As someone who's seen a lot of flight peripheral reviews (some of which are little more than advertising for cost of sending the product to the 'reviewer') this was a really good take. :) Nice and straightforward and honest. I don't know if you've considered it but a video running through what you already have, flight peripheral-wise, and giving your opinions would be something a lot of your audience would like.
    Oh and glad you seem to be enjoying your new work office BTW. ;)

    I used a right angle Usbc to usbc sdapter and drilled thru for my. Pit. I also found some cheapish 800x600 screens on Amazon and they work great in my. Pit.

    There is an option for swapping frames without physically moving them, it’s in manual.
    BTW I’m kind late to listen to Low Level Hell Podcast and as I write this comment I am listening to episode 27 and all I can say this is the best so far. Phantom Slammer 😂. As an ex member of a FAC team in 1st tank batalion in 10BKPanc in Poland for two years it is great to hear others stories from military.

    Thanks for the review. They're a bit expensive in my opinion, but I don't mind the missing screens. In fact, I prefer looking at the ingame screens because that's where the rest of the cockpit is. I think it's more immersive that way.

    Fair review. Something I'm definitely considering getting.
    Now, if only someone will come up with a TEDAC controller 😜😜
    On the topic of TEDAC, I'm currently learning to use a PS5 controller, but I'm seriously considering getting a Left & Right VIRPIL VPC Constellation ALPHA, as it looks these could pretty much cover all of the functions.

    Those are some beefy MFD's. Welp, that's going on the list for when I become rich enough to have a simpit.

  • @SargeSHC
    @SargeSHC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a set and agree they are a great product and certainly made flying the Apache a lot easier. I mounted mine on a second monitor using a couple of velcro strips each and exported the MFDs. I do the same with my Cougar MFD's so pretty easy to swap if I change around.
    The cable on the bottom wasn't an issue in my case but would see how that could be a problem for a pit builder.

    • @Hardcover_Pilot
      @Hardcover_Pilot ปีที่แล้ว

      Having a dedicated monitor for the MPD displays is probably the more flexible way to go - you could then do the same thing with Cougar frames for Vipers or Hornets and just swap the physical devices when you switch aircraft.

    0:24 That legendary state of disbelief with the zoom being the cherry on top of the icing on the cake (Princess Sunbutt entered the chat.)
    1:51 Apparently they want Pinkie Pie to upgrade from her Pinkacopter to an Apache. She digs those.
    2:37 Good enough though
    4:38 How awesome is that?
    5:26 Those are no joke. Guess it's much easier to muscle memory those in VR as well...
    6:26 So unusual to see you wíth glasses...
    8:09 That might be pretty bad depending on how you want to mount them. I still havent found a decent way for my Cougars without somehow having to get rid of my keyboard and place it left of me on another computer. I was thinking of building something that sits on top and around the keyboard where I could drop the frames on to. I mean I don't need to be able to look at the screen in VR anymore, so that space is good to go. With that, there'd be some extra challenge since I would want to be able to take the things off of that extra "deck".

      I use 3 of the cougar mfds in vr with no issue I have little pieces of Velcro stuck on the middle button on each side of the left and right ones and then little rubber nubs like you’d use for electronics feet stuck in the same spots for the center one and it works great.

    I am little confused after looking at the website but, WHAT? Selling the mounting brackets also they should be included in my opinion I mean what are people supposed to do just lay them on the table? I have seen other Products done this way because they seem to think everyone's building a FULLSIZE SIM which is not the case.
    And the Plug is OMG Dumb why did they not put it in the main back of the unit or on the top with a 90 degree angle and make sure to leave room for Monitors, there is a lot lacking in my opinion to these.
    But the Ideal you had with Merging the Thrustmasters and this one could work but would take some doctoring.

    • @CasmoTV
      @CasmoTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a way of looking at it. Another is “they sell it complete for one price then a reduced price for people who don’t want/ need the brackets.”

    • @totalcontrols
      @totalcontrols 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, in fact we sold out the units without the mounts way before the MFD/Mount combo, wo I guess it is a personal preference. Regarding the USB, the included one are a bit bulky, I give you that. Any USB C will do, so 90 degree angel will work just fine. The back is not an option since it would make it impossible to add a screen behind. Top would possibly mask a monitor and side would block any other peripheral.

    Really wish they would explore the idea of some screens even if it's a "made to order" approach and it took longer. Right now the only ones I know that do these with screens are from China and I avoid buying from China whenever possible.

    • @CasmoTV
      @CasmoTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a huge upfront cost for them to make these. Without really knowing what the market would accept. I think in the future they may explore it but right now it’s a big ask for a 2 man operation.
