XOXO, Gossip Girl
#GossipGirl #Drama #TeenDrama
Nooooo this was so sad and HARD TO WATCH! Little J didn’t get the chance to survive longer in the upper class world! As they said in the sleepover episode, the faster you rise the harder you fall!
I didn’t like how Jenny sent the blast about her party but dan as gossip girl didn’t have to post it
@@MissmagazineburaI hope you know it does not make sense
The fact that chuck SA’d her is absolutely vile. He is a predator. Jenny went through so much
Her reign should’ve been longer.
OMG watching this is a deep reminder about how I miss gossip girl.
I didn't know she's also the singer of Pretty reckless
The problem with Jenny’s fall is her father, & lack of support. He would praise Dan (who was only a couple of years older) for going out w Serena cause he has this weird fantasy about her mom, while getting angry that Jenny would want to have any sorta relationship at that age. He would encourage Dan to follow his dreams (no matter how hurtful of an impact that would cause on their families & friends), while bashing Jenny to follow hers. Instead of nurturing her, he made her feel guilty for ever wanting to fit into the world that he introduced her too. As much praise Rufas gets, he was a hypocrite, sexist parent & person.
You’re blatantly ignoring all the effort Rufus as a single parent put in to have them attend the very school Jenny was trying drop out of to pursue her dream. You’re also blatantly ignoring the fact that while he “seemed” more supportive of Dan, when he actually saw how much Jenny wanted to pursue fashion, he made a sacrifice by allowing her to work for Eleanor whilst still attending school. You’re ALSO ignoring how blatantly disrespectful and rude Jenny was through out the entirety of her little “mean girl” phase and that, while Dan had his issues, he held himself accountable, was hardly disrespectful and was just more mature (ignoring where they had to make him a villain in the later seasons because they had to make him GG due to a leak). You can’t expect a parent to be just as easy going and supportive with a child who’s defiant, disrespectful, and was willing to to abandon the plan that SHE WAS A PART OF to pursue her dream. If anything (ignoring all he events or season 6) Rufus was downright THE most well adjusted and respectable character; he had his flaws, but he didn’t really become problematic until he became a part of the upper east side.
Also, what dreams that were “hurtful” did he encourage Dan to partake in??? Dan only ever wanted to go to Yale, and be a writer; it wasn’t until (surprise, surprise) he became apart of the upper east side that he started making morally reprehensible decisions (ignoring him being GG cause that literally breaks the shows own canon) and even THEN Rufus was CONSTANTLY in Dans ear about whether or not he was making good decisions. Also, the only dream Jenny had for the entire show was to be a apart of the upper east side and to be a designer, both of which had the outcome of 1) making her into a character almost everyone hated because she became a “mean girl and 2) having her drop out of school; both outcomes Rufus TRIED to prevent by being a stricter parent. Also also, Dan was in ONE relationship for like 3 straight seasons and, as you can guess, Rufus was even apprehensive of Serena after he saw how she was affecting Dan, to a point where there were moments Dan had to explain Serena’s actions to Rufus because he questioned her motives. Almost (if not every one) all of Jenny’s relationships where with dudes who had ulterior motives, were too old for her (putting her at risk of getting her heart broken), or just plain bad (you know, like the LITERAL DRUG DEALER) and as a father, but a MAN first, OF COURSE Rufus wouldn’t support the guys she was engaging with because he’s old enough and wise enough to discern what some of the boys are really about.
I truly don’t know what show you watched cause almost everything you said is wrong.
Dan was so jealous when his younger sis was making it happen for herself, that's why he stood in her way initially
Definitely
That’s not it
@@harmonandrews2849not really
I LOVED Jenny in season 2 !! her pursuing her dream of becoming a fashion designer was so iconic. I didn‘t like the direction they took with her character Season 3 onwards :/
Jenny could have worn all her own designs and got around the not having outfits thing- just been that confident in her work and rocked it.
Yes her whole thing could be she only wears the best and she’s the best like if she only wore her own stuff it could’ve worked
Jenny went through so much…… All of it was people who tried to squash her……really wish she would have stayed in Manhattan and become the rightful queen
Are you ignoring all the actions SHE took to get to be queen? Of the dome I remember her pouring food on Eric’s boyfriend because he sat on a seat higher than she did. Yeah she went through a lot but you can’t overlook the fact that SHE put herself in the position: if she (and Dan) would’ve stayed content being outside of the upper east side, then neither character would’ve suffered as much.
The craziest part everyone forgets is Dan was he outed his LITTLE SISTERS virginity and knew it wasn’t true bc he knew the guy was gay. Insane
Right. He's such a creep
There's an old saying... You want to do business? You pay the cost of doing business. You can't handle the cost? You get out of business. Lots of people hated Jenny, like they hated Dan in season 6, but I think that was the entire point of GG. Dan literally had to become Bart Bass in order to survive the upper east side. He was terrible to everyone, esp. Serena but had to play their game in order to be seen as an equal. The proof? She still married Dan despite all his backstabbing.
I mean Dan was not Gossip Girl at this point in time.
@@codezero7981 Then who was?
Cause it wasn’t Georgina until she hacked GG in season 4 I believe.
@@timliebhauserhe wasent supposed to be untill later
Jenny was meant to be in Manhattan, be a queen and face Blair. So sad Taylor Momsen did not want to be in GG anymore but her character gave such a good fight. She was an icon
Not even close to true. Blair put her in her place many times😂😂😂
In my opinion, Jenny was the easy excuse for everyone. She made mistakes and was annoying? Yes. But so did Blair, Serena, Nate and Chuck. Even Dan and Vanessa…and NO ONE turned their back on them as they turned on Jenny. This is the typical “someone did this horrible thing, no one says nothing, but as soon as I do the same thing, suddenly you’re the only one wrong”.
They treated her like a child since day one and she’s just 2 years younger than all of them. Talk me about double standards. Dan can date, Jenny can’t, Dan can go out and blend, Jenny can’t, they all were super independent and act like literally adults, Jenny can’t.
I would riot too if I saw people, specially my own father, were treating me differently just because.
This type of people like Jenny exist in real life and it’s not easy at all. It seems that everyone gets want they want and she doesn’t and somehow she’s the only one in the wrong although everyone knows she’s not.
The show was so stupid when it comes to this.
The problem with Eric is that he wanted Jenny to play both sides of the Upper East Side fence. Jenny has wanted to be Queen since forever. Once Blair passed down that crown to her, she was ready to rule NY, on her terms. But to the Upper East Side she will always be Little J from Brooklyn.
It doesn't matter who her dad married, she will always be beneath them.
Literally what are you talking about, Eric didn’t support the “Queen” system at all; did he benefit from it, yes, but he never advocated for her to uproot Blair. Also, what “upper east side” fence are you even talking about? You were either in, our you weren’t: there were never any “levels” to being “in”. If you wanna look at it from that perspective then Eric wanted her there, but when she got too power hungry, he (reasonably) wanted her gone. The thing is, he never wanted her out of the upper east side, he just didn’t want her to become Blair. Also also, Blair never “handed” Jenny the crown cause she never wanted to let it go, Jenny took that from her which is kinda the whole reason they end up being enemies.
You chose to share every time she's evil and never when she's funny and friendly or when she's bullied... Every other character did WAY WORSE than she did. I'm so sick of people hating her when she always wanted to be good and have friends but Chuck and Blair couldn't just let her be happy and safe.
exactly. blair was overly jealous of jenny lol
Yea I'm sick of the this too lol I'm binge watching now...Blair pisses me off,she had some decent moments but she had so many unprovoked moments, like season 2 she blamed Georgina for Serena getting arrested and that made Georgina go back to her old ways
Then Blair did it again when Chuck tried to move on with Eva and be a better man...Blair couldn't leave it alone and provoked Chuck back into his scheming ways
@@brandonbates9259 Blair has never claimed to be a saint. Blair knows she does underhanded things. Jenny was the one who acted like she was saint, like she could never do anything wrong. She often judged the likes of Chuck and Serena when in reality she was no better, none of the Humphreys were, especially that Rufus.
Yes she was never worse than Blair or Chuck but people act like she is the most evil person
dan being gossip girl felt so last minute
It was
It was someone leaked it was Eric the little brother of Serena so they changed it
35:02 im sorry but the way it goes from bein all serious to showing rufus in that bob 😭
Ew Dan writing about his own sister's virginity is fuckin nasty
It disgusts me to watch it now after knowing he is the gossip girl.
Writers didn't think it through making Dan Gossip girl was the worst decision.
Imagine being rich enough to live in a 3 bedroom in Brooklyn, go to an elite high school and have the connections to make it doing whatever you want and you’re ungrateful. So privileged and gross. The worst thing Rufus could have done was send those kids to that school.
@@thebyrdman853I don’t disagree… but Dans conclusion was straight up AWFUL writing so I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s a “if you can’t beat em, join em” type of situation cause there were better ways that could’ve (and should’ve) gone
9:28 this scene gave me so much anxietyyyy ahhhh
lollll there’s no downfall here Jenny left while she still was a teenager and touched her own life, couldn’t say the same about the main core who couldn’t stop embarrassing themselves until the end
Dan was a hypocrite he would sell literally anything to be in the in crowd but Jenny actually gets played and used and has to ask her brother who is on,y 2-3 years older than her btw for permission for things he does all the time in his writing
Right i hate her family so much i only like her
@ fr Dans controlling nature was so annoying Jenny was barely younger then him and he also did and would do the same shit Jenny does he truly acted like her father sometimes
Bro… I’m convinced none of you actually watched this show. Firstly, Dan being GG was a last second decision; it was supposed to be Eric (which makes A WHOLE lot more sense) so you can’t call him a hypocrite when almost every poor decision he made (in the later seasons) was shoe horned in in order to make us hate him as GG. Also, name literally ONE thing Jenny asks Dan “permission” for other than to lie on her behalf
@ no because if you keep talking like this so how can we gonna watch and criticize it for fun doesn’t everything that is a movies or a shows was always depends on the creator I mean DUH but when it was changed to this way so what we gonna do
we only gonna talk about the present situations and the way charactors became
@@user-ty2hy2xy5o they changed his ending he is still a hypocrite everything he did he do to be on the inside liking Serena from the start was about status and having the it girl he didn’t even know her before falling in love not even one real conversation everything he did was to get inside even tho he felt he was better or superior to them
13:54 Love how Blair cares about Eric! ❤️
I’ve watched the whole series of Gossip Girl a few times now, and Jenny isn’t the worst. She changed a lot in season 3, but she really isn’t as bad as people make her out to be. Her trying to steal Nate from Serena was bad and so was her attitude in season 3 when she ruled Constance. But she was such a nice girl in season 1 and that’s when she was likable. Other characters have done worse than Jenny but they don’t get as much hate (Georgina & Chuck for example) plus lots of people stan Blair but she really isn’t all that nice. She carried Gossip Girl and we see a more humanly side to her in season 5, but she seems to only show kindness to people in her circle really
It’s unfortunate that Taylor Momsen ducked out of the series because she was starting her band. Great for her outside of the show to pursue what she really wanted career wise, but she essentially gave the writers the green light to character assassinate Jenny and get her out of NYC.
imma always defend jenny idc 😭
like it’s my 9-5
I HATED that the showmakers casted Taylor Momsen (from Grinch) as Jenny Humphrey instead of Kat Dennings (from 2 Broke Girls).
Kat actually resembles Jenny in the Gossip Girl books.
Eleanor was just using Jenny
That’s is by far one of the worst takes I’ve ever heard. Did Jenny provide her with a new sense of fashion to help potentially propel her brand? Yes. Did she still THRIVE after she left. Yes. She was a valuable asset, but Jenny was never NEEDED
She was slowly turning into The Pretty Reckless!
she was iconic but y’all just failed to see that
She was annoying
@@elle.r4698yeah she sure was. Jenny’s the definition of a wannabe.
14:49 I’m in love with Blair’s dress
She never fell, she kept climbing okay
Rufus and Dan failed Jenny imo. She was too young, and needed guidance, but they only ever met her with judgement. The older teens actually did far worse things, but she was usually the one criticised and judged the most, because she changed. But of course she changed! Who wouldn’t at that age, in a world like that?
I have a theory that one of the writers on GG hated someone named Amanda. Every Amanda in the show got screwed, either a cheating fiance, a Nairtini in the hair, or something else ridiculous.
12:28 Prime example that Dan is NOT gossip girl 😅
14:42 If Dan is gossip girl how can he write that about his sister.
because he’s the one who witnessed her bf cheating on her and jenny wouldn’t believe him
By this time in the show, Eric was still planned to be GG; it wasn’t until someone leaked that info that Dan was pushed into being GG. In reality, nothing said about Jenny was actually Dan but the writers changed at season 5/ season 6 so they had to scramble to figure out who the big reveal would be, whilst committing copious amounts of character assassinations at the same time
I love jenny she followed her dreams
Little J they can never make me hate you
Blair Waldorf and Jenny Humfrey Truly had an Incredible Sisterly Relationship. I truly hate that The Creators Ruined There Relationship:
What show did you watch? They did not have a sisterly relationship 😂😂😂
20:35 was dan really jealous of his sister doing what he couldnt
Where are you seeing any jealousy in
this interaction? Jenny’s literally asking Dan to lie for her
Still my favorite next to Blair ❤
This all gets so much worse when you know that Dan's gossip girl
Her dress is the best in all seasons
in the first season jenny was my favourite. my opinion quickly changed
Why what did she do
Hmm let’s see, allowed Eric to be bullied with the help of her friends, bullied his boyfriend, tried to hook up with Nate when she knew that Vanessa was still in love with him very shortly after they broke up, was an idiot drug dealer, tried to sabotage Serena’s relationship with Nate and steal him, tried to ruin her own father’s marriage for her own selfish needs, tried to ruin her own brothers relationship just to screw Serena with Nate, annnnd slept with Blair’s man (even broken up that was her man, we all know this including Jenny) right when they were going to get back together and then had him outted in front of Blair and everyone, crying in shit like she was the victim. Had ho tendencies before she lost her virginity like a ho! Always trying to piggyback off someone else’s man!
Ngl I liked her until the Juliet thing, that’s when she actually became insufferable imo
Jenny should have been Gossip Girl
13:23 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The worst character development
ICONIC.
I love jenny
“too Hannah Montana” didn’t Taylor Momsend audition for that role?
Rufus the nice guy❤
35:02 xd
Finally new post
