Ahhh that camp oven lamb roast looks scrumptious! Reminds me of days in outback NSW with my mum and dad on the natural gas pipeline in the early 70s. And to top it off the lovely bit of gold right at the end at your new patch - can't wait for next week!!

Tip start a small fire in your camp oven hole first to heat the ground up then after it dies down add your coals and oven , coals dont loose much heat that way
I usually put some coals on top too, it speeds up the cooking a bit...

Was worried about you. Had all kinds of things running through my mind. It would take everything to make me stay at the end of a chain with such a small haul. Gee Whizz, I'm glad you have sharp eyes Chrissy otherwise those wee bits would go unsighted. The weather has not been good. Even we in Queensland copped a cold blast. Cairns got down to 7c. You were getting strong winds I see. Mornings here are still and chill.
The grass was frozen this morning, don’t remember it getting that cold in fnq, definitely more rain up your way, we’ve only had 200ml since January. If the gold gets any smaller I might have to bring a lupe 🔍

I feel like, as there's larger nuggets in the area, then put on a larger coil, and go for searching a wider area, still low and slow, but the larger coil will give You a larger coverage....
-I mean, as soon as You are gone, someone else is going to do it....;- /
We should invest in a few more coils at some stage, for now we’ll have to make due with what we’ve got ⛏️
I was confused a bit at the beginning showing the nice sized nuggets being shown, and was waiting to see you finding them in this hunt, then all these little nuggets were being dug out, the minutes were ticking away, and no big one's yet, and not much time left on the clock. It wasn't till the weigh in that the penny dropped, and I realised what was going on. You can add an extra donkey to the count with this one down here in Victoria! Looking forward to the new patch next week, see you then! Cheers!
Krissy do y'all send in your Minelab detectors for any kind of calibration? I was an electronics tech and worked with radiation and Geiger counters and they had to be sent in every year for recal. mostly to meet government standards.
I don’t think that’s necessary for these detectors but I understand why they service them in other departments.

I'm trying to understand how the gold got to where you're finding it they don't appear to be any big rivers or mountains around there can you explain to me how it got there
No big mountains or rivers nowadays but the country would have looked different a billion years ago when the gold shed, reefs eroded, deposited the gold and that’s where we’re finding it today.
