The Sirius is a truly amazing synth, and JayB has really mastered it. At first the Sirius sounds seem to be a bit boring but all the sounds can be extensively tweaked and the results can be very gratifying. It takes a lot of effort to get all these sounds working together so nicely... You have done a great job here. JayB, can you please upload some 1hr music videos on TH-cam or on Soundcloud so we can enjoy listening to your compositions. Thank you.

This is epic!!!! I went to school in Kirchhain/Hessen Germany and I passed the garage every day where Quasimidi was invented back then when I went there from Stadtallendorf. Too bad they didn´t make it. What a wonderful and excellent showcase of what the Sirius was capable of. Tank you so much
I've downloaded this sound set and they are great sounds and very useful. However, I can't come close to the skill of Jay B and I love listening to this video over and over - it's a great track!

Multi track recording. Man nimmt einfach alles nacheinander auf. Beim Sirius geht das einfach, da der ja schon drei Spuren gleichzeitig kann. Braucht am Ende halt Vorausplanung, aber das ist irgendwo auch der Spasfaktor.

I'm surprised that Manuel and Kuta haven't kidnapped you and chained you to a radiator for the next nexus sound set , matter of fact I wouldn't be surprised if some of those "sounds of the 90s" or trance elements sound sets were derived from this ... and I love the voicing on your later 4:50 section reminds me of some of exactly who you said your influences (label wise) are ... and I like this synth . I like it in the sense that it could be a great inspiration machine . So much music is made because the flow , and soft synths you really have to plan your time so that it can flow , but being able to chase ideas down with one synth without it being too DTE ... the only question is , is it fairly intuitive and logical to program ? Also sorry this is a business account but such is that I'm logged in automatically here

This is awesome , i just got a faulty Sirius a few days ago , it had a doggy Fatar keyboard and key-scan cable was cracked , pots were all clogged up and one was faulty. Several hours later and a load of isopropyl we now have a fully working keyboard and all pots track well ., though i do plan on changing those out some day as they are really crap quality. QUESTION : So these 3 files, ( 1 syx and 2 midi ) , is there a certain order to send them to the Sirius ?
Hey! Congrats on restoring yours. JayB_Sirius.syx and .mid are essential the same files, just in different formats. Those contain the actual sounds. The SiriusHiFiOverblast.mid is optional and has to be sent after each boot of the device to set the Overblast-EQ.

Da ist aber etwas,dass ich auf dem Herzen habe: Könntest Du bitte ein kurzes Tutorial über die Aktivierung des Vocoders machen? Habe alles,wie in der Anleitung beschrieben gemacht,aber es funktioniert leider nicht Ich würde mich wirklich über einen professionellen Tip deinerseits freuen. Dankeschön und liebe Grüße, Clarence

Ich denke,dass ich mir die komplette Anleitung durchlesen muss,um den Sirius optimal nutzen zu können. 152 Seiten lesen und verstehen...da kommt noch einiges an Arbeit auf mich zu. whats your opinion on FL studio ? After nearly 10 yrs with them, I think the sound engine is just not as good as other programes out there. please share your opinion. thnx amazing work by the way
Nima someh I don't think the sound engine is worse than other software. FLS has become a powerful solution for music producers who don't need outboard gear. That's why it's not for me.
Dear JayB! I own a Sirius and just getting in to music production with no experience and would like to know if there is any vst editor for this piece of hardware which is Cubase compatible and has access to all the knobs and buttons from the DAW? I did extensive searching on the net but with no result. I am very close to buy MidiQuest to help me controll my hardware synths but it also has no support for Sirius. Thanks!
I can't think of anything here, I'm afraid... MIDI Quest was my first thought too, but as you said it doesn't have Sirius support. In fact the only software editor I know is emagic SoundDiver, which isn't available as a VSTs. Guess you have to work with MIDI controllers instead. The manual has a nice list. ;)

I developed a CC Editor for MAX for Live. I had also a SYSEX Editor in the works, but stalled the development because of massive problems with multiclient MIDI support, since i switched from Mac to Windows. The CC Version is a pure CC - Controller. The SysEx Version was able to edit the Arp Motifs, the Vocoder, the Pads, the Overblast EQs and many more.
Hope you don't mind answering in German. ^^ As a tradition I answer every comment or message in German that's not English. Because I can't speak neither French nor Spanish nor any other language. ;)
just played it long enough to check if it was trance in the sense of pop trance... with beehive sounds and highpass sawtooth detunes. highpass sawtooth is weird. i like a tropical mix, a bit basey, epic with not much treble athmo.
That's an interesting aspect. Especially since there's not even a handful of sounds in the whole sound set that are both based on sawtooth and use highpass filter. (In fact, the only two I can think of right now are Converge and GrttLyr.)

did you have to menu dive a lot to load those patches or is it just "send" via midiox and done?

Mainly kick and clap. Cymbals, hihats and percussion is usually the Sirius.
