- Ajahn Cattamalo gives a Dhamma talk on pointing to one's own mind. He relates a powerful incident which took place whilst he was caring for Ajahn Chah, who was bedridden with a long-term illness. For the second half of the talk he reads out the beautiful verses he composed on the inspiring teachings of Ajahn Chah.
The talk was given at the Ajahn Chah Remembrance Day on 16 January 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ajahn Chah sitting up is the most powerful lesson I have heard of from anyone, thank you for sharing.

Thank you SO much for those beautiful, moving and inspiring verses. I am sitting in a cafe, sobbing after watching this video. What Ajahn Cattamo describes as the realization that ordination is THE ONLY OPTION when one reaches a certain place, has spoken DIRECTLY to where I am in life. Ordination IS MY TRUE DESIRE! My problem is that am a Diabetic and need to find a way of getting my medications delivered to me in Thailand. Any suggestions? May ALL beings be happy and find an end to suffering!

Ajahn Cattamalo succeeded all the Lord Buddha teachings. This is a real Buddhist monk or the Arahant monk Not only wise people paying respect him but also angels on heavens must come on Earth to pay respect him with floweres and perfumes from their level of heavens. Sadhu ! Sadhu! Sadhu!

I believe that most if not all monasteries make arrangements for required medication. I don't really know how they go about that but at the very least I hope its some small motivation for you to follow your desire. I too wish to ordain

Thank you Kasakagegaara! :) I must say that of the twenty three temples I've written to in Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Australia and England, ONLY two have responded. One was the wonderful, funny and compassionate Ajahn Brahm, Abbot of Bodhinyana monastery in Australia and the other is Hermitage Lunas in Malaysia. Both were very helpful and kind. May you also follow your desire and find TRUE happiness, freedom and enlightenment. Metta. Aren. and England
Maybe go stay as a guest and book on some retreats in your chosen tradition ? I have never been turned away from any Monasteries in England..Amaravati and Harnham..but I wouldn't expect myself or any tradition to take me on without having shown some serious commitment..it's not just a place to run away to 😐
