Sophie and Hort are my favorites and their casting are good enough. But I can't tolerate how they changed Tedros' overall character description and almost everything about him. He's supposed to be the typical blonde haired prince while Rafal is supposed to be a mysterious silver haired villain (not ENOUGH hot boys in the movie, I agree to that). And wow, I was looking forward for albino Anadil! And funny clumsy Dot. I could go on and on but the movie is seriously disappointing in terms of accuracy.

I cannot explain to you… how much I enjoyed this, Hort is by far my fav character and the Hophie ship is SO freaking adorable, I feel so bad that he had barely any scenes in the movie! Plus they skipped the entire scene in book 1 chapter 15 when Hort kisses Sophie bc of the Coffin thing and all that. AND the scene in chapter 19 when Sophie steals Hort’s room and he says the stuff about his dad telling him that villains couldn’t love but if He could, he would love Sophie… Just like… COME ON!!! Why did they have to leave out like the best parts of the whole thing? Lol sorry. Anyways, thank you so much for making a video about our AMAZING Hort who deserves more credit. Also the BTS song at 2:45, just MUAH!! The perfect song with Jin singing is just, 🤌👌 so perfecto 💜🫰🏻🦋 as a fellow ARMY, thank you so much for this!!! 💜💜💜

Plus, I think this would've been so much better if it was a show instead of a movie. There was so many important scenes and details left out for time, but simultaneously so much was stuffed into it that it left no room for character complexity or development.
I was about to say this myself, not to mention how toxic the ship actually is, especially in the first book, Sophie didn’t spare Agatha a second glance, she treated her like utter garbage and people think this is shippable? It’s just disgusting. I will never understand why people ship them, also why do people gloss over Agatha’s feelings for Tedros, like she’s in a relationship anyway, so why would Sophie and Agatha ever be canon.
I honestly think Tedros improved character-wise, since he's a bit less egotistical than in the books, more likeable. Hort basically stayed the same. It is a movie and not a series, so a lot had to be left out for time. Since it is a movie, some things are altered for the screen, and character designs are not the same. It happens. At least it was not like the Peter Johnson movies. Rick Riordan wasn't a part of the film process, unlike Soman.
I personally disagree. If you read the books, the 'egotistical' part of Tedros was just a front for a lot of issues he was dealing with. Changing his character for the movie not only removed the layers he had in the books, but it ruined the character development that plays an important role in the series (and makes his relationship with Agatha interesting). Turning him into your typical boy-next-door type of character just made him boring and severely diluted the chemistry between him and Agatha.
i hated tedros sooo much at the beginning of the books, but at least he got some development edit: he and agatha make a super good couple now, unlike at the beginning

When I said I read the book I meant I read one(1) book I don't know what happened in the other books but FROM THIS BOOK AND THIS MOVIE I was getting wlw vibes. How many sisters kiss each other on the lips??????? As True Love? Anna and Elsa could never. Anyway I take back what I said in the video zoo wee mama.. Edit: it's ironic I said "kissing cousins" more like "kissing sisters" amirite 🥴
I didn't understand this part of the kiss either, especially when I discovered the twist plot them being sisters LOL 🤣🤣🤣 I was like "okay, wait a minute: that was a romantic kiss, a symbol of brotherhood or what?!"
Hort × Sophie stuck to their ship source material, although I wish that he filmmakers did a series instead and had a whole episode with Sophie parading Hort as her only suitor because Agatha suggested it.
