Disclosure: I haven't reviewed the Quest 2, yet. Here are my thoughts;
The Bad
-Average PCVR headset
-Data rate capped at 2.5Gbps (burry/compressed image sometimes)
-Oculus discontinues replacement parts after a few years
The Good
-Most affordable headset. 300$ standalone & PCVR headset
-Resident Evil 4 VR exclusive
-Low spec. Good for low end systems
-Wireless or wired PC connection
Before buying anything, make sure your PC is powerful enough for a quest 2

War thunder flying habits be like
you should try a cold war server it will be a bit more forgiving considering you wont deal with look down radars and 100km bvr missiles and what not. Also if you can try out the abu dhabi map it is, well, abu dhabi, a giant urban forest i imagine that will be more your domain.
I figured all these modern jets with advanced radars were not going to be easy to counter. I would love a cold war server.
@BruceLeeroy94 Yeah, those matches had worse balance than a 9.3 war thunder air match. There are a lot of cold war servers the most popular one is enigma's.
@@BruceLeeroy94 Enigma's cold war server is prime heli fun! Mostly cuz the planes your against are f5's and mig21's.
Good luck hitting someone at 100k with one in dcs
not a chopper pilot, but i do play dcs and can throw some tips.
-your rockets have heavier splash then war thunder as in your damaging yourself.
-most mods(vehicle) you need to turn the engines on and open your cockpit door to comunicate with the groung crew to change weapons or countermeasurs or APS ect...it also takes a cpl minutes as you watch the munitions swap one by one.
-turn helmet volume down to mute the overwatch, or you can learn the radio, never flown heuy so i dont know it.
-top right hand corner of the f10 map canges the map type, also the arrow icon in the top bar will lock/unlock your posistion to the center, so you can look around the map.
You deffently fly great, you just need to learn dcs and its game mechanics.
Oh, I knew I damaged myself there. I just figured I would try to take out the BMP before I inevitably died. lol
As for my flying, I need to work on my closer quarters fighting. I was shaking my stick all over the place, and that is probably why my rotor popped off.
@@BruceLeeroy94 maybe you need to play around with the curves. im sure you have alot of musle memory from WT, honestly you flying is good, also i meant engines off to rearm or swap munitions
okyyy.. it seems DCS jets welcome you warmely 😄, alright, some servers have a bot that give a hot threat callout but you need SRS on the right frequency, others they have EWR script in radio menu > F10 > EWR repport > request picture. usual as utility chopper you have to read the terrain to conseal, and in close danger (10 miles) sit in confined area.. but if you an attack chopper with AA capability (Ka-50, Mi-24 & Sa-342), you can fight back & hammer dawn those buzzers.
As a fellow War Thunder idiot, I commend you for your bravery

Yeah DCS is not very forgiving, especially when your flying against professionals.
You should try out enigma cold war, not alot of planes stalking you, more ground targets, you can take in troops and drop them a mile away to kill ground targets or a fes miles away to recon, of just go in guns blazing lmao

Can I ask why you're playing with a vr controller? I fly dcs exclusively in vr and I cant imagine trying to control switches with a my actual hands. I would suggest to just assign the ones you use commonly on your hotas and use your mouse to hit the switches that you barely ever use. ( like start up)
That's what I did yesterday. I didn't have stuff bound to my HOTAS yet. I don't like using the motion controllers if I don't have to because oculus likes to sell proprietary parts and discontinue them after a few years.

Hey Bruce how did you fix the throttle sticking mate to do fine movements.
Is the quest headset going to be your main hmd or are you going to swap back to the rift?
I have a lot to say about both headsets. I'm going to try my rift S on the new setup and compare the 2, but the quest 2 has a huge flaw for PC VR, and that is its data transfer rate from your PC to the headset. For some unknown reason, the limit for the quest 2's usb-c port is 2.5 Gbps. For an almost 4k image running at 72-120 hz. That is very low for 4k, and that is the data transfer rate for everything, not just the video feed.
So what has been happening with me, is the image I receive is compressed, because even with a cable with 5Gbps transfer rate, it doesn't exceed 2.5 Gbps.
The previous Oculus headsets used HDMI or Display ports along with a USB 3.2 port. I never had any compression issues with those headsets, and I don't think I ever will because of their resolution and max hz.
I'll make a review video with both headsets some time soon.
