SWV was one of the smootest groups of the 90s, if you go through their songs you find some really amazing beats and insane singing structure to it. These folks are one of the few girl groups i still listen to today from that era.

Coko has one of the most distinctive voices of all time. She sings the verses with so much passion. she has so much soul and emotion in her voice. Did you hearthe unbelievable vocal runs she does at the end? so so hard to do that. Their voices blend so good.

They're name originally was going to be TLC but T-Boz, Chili, and Left Eye got it first. Coko was a defining voice back in the 90's. Unfortunately her solo career didn't take off after they split. HAHA perfect start for SWV. Their names are Taj, Leelee & Coko, funny fact, before their name was "SWV"........ca you guess what it was?....TLC!!! But when they got their deal they had to change the name because another group had the name (Before Chili was in TLC a girl named Crystal was in the group so they were legitimately Tionne, Lisa, Crystal, but when Crystal was asked to leave and they hired a girl named Rozanda, but they were already TLC so they decided to assign nicknames, and Rozanda is "Chili"). Coko sings all the leads for SWV, she's the Beyonce/Diana of the group, then Taj (the tallest) has some great moments too as 2nd lead, Leelee (the shortest) has the least leads but she has a great voice too, and she's the "Left Eye" of the group in that she's the 1 with the wild personality. My top recommendations for you. 1. Downtown- (Think Anytime Anyplace lol, it's very sexual and sensual, it's dirty but it doesn't feel dirty just like Anytime Anyplace) 2. Right Here Remix- I already see & Know that's probably the next SWV video and the highest requested after Weak, and for good reason, they sample MJ's Human Nature, and might be the first act to ever sample MJ. It also has a vocal cameo from Pharrell at like 16yrs old. 3. The thing about the R&B we got in the 90s was all the women could SANG! They were coming off the late 80s, the 70s soul singers, 60s motown singers and so that was the standard they aspired to vocally. To sing like Aretha, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan. etc. So we got lots of high quality female vocalists and vocalists in general. The men also came from that tradition of soul singers, like Teddy, Luther, Smokey etc. Well had to bring it.

Clicked on this SO fast when I saw it! SWV is my FAVE vocal group of ALL time! Their lead singer Coko is like a human version of autotune...but, pretty much because of what you said - when you hear them all sing together - they have an ICONIC BLEND which is unique because they harmonize in notes VERY close together. I'll agree with most of the comments "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)" is their next biggest hit, but they have a few other grooves like "You're the One" (they wrote) and "Can We" featuring Missy Elliott (she wrote and rapped) with Timbaland on production.

I was in 8th grade when SWV’s album was released. I ran to purchase the entire album. The funny thing is, back then, I referred to SWV by their full name (Sisters With Voices). And when I went to buy the tape, the clerk was like “who??”. 😂😂
They have an acapella version of this song on the album and released it to radio which helped to propel this version to #1 on billboard Hot 100. Clicked on this SO fast when I saw it! SWV is my FAVE vocal group of ALL time! Their lead singer Coko is like a human version of autotune...but, pretty much because of what you said - when you hear them all sing together - they have an ICONIC BLEND which is unique because they harmonize in notes VERY close together. I'll agree with most of the comments "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)" is their next biggest hit, but they have a few other grooves like "You're the One" (they wrote) and "Can We" featuring Missy Elliott (she wrote and rapped) with Timbaland on production.

I was in 8th grade when SWV’s album was released. I ran to purchase the entire album. The funny thing is, back then, I referred to SWV by their full name (Sisters With Voices). And when I went to buy the tape, the clerk was like “who??”. 😂😂

You're always on my mind was one of those underground hits that few people know about. It's a piano duet that features the guy who wrote "Weak" and most of their songs.He has an incredible voice. This was arguably one of their best songs.
"Use your heart" from their second album was the only song that features one of the other girls (Taj) singing a verse. It was a small but unexpected part that shows they all really have amazing voices despite Coko always singing lead.
Coko quit the group after 3 albums in 1997. She had a minor hit with "sunshine," but failed as a solo act. They got back together in 2011, released a couple of albums, but found success with their reality show on bravo.

One more noteworthy thing about SWV's first album. The song "Downtown" was a tribute to cunnilingus (yes, female oral sex 🤣😂). The song popularized the term "go downtown." SWV refuses to perform the son live despite many fans asking them to 🤣. The song went to #2 on the charts as it was the B side to Right here/human nature.
