Haha. She didnt drown herself...she was submerged neck deep in sea water and asked to sing on top of her lungs by her father. This was supposed to strengthen her stomach muscles and build up her lung power. This proved effective as this made her the most powerful belter the world has ever seen.

I'm just wondering what if these amazing Filipino singers that you were reacting and counting are formally trained in school or professional voice coach, what it would be?.. the fact of the matter is that most Filipino were trained thru karaoke or joining local competitions.
Honestly I feel like that experience depends on the person. It might be why some of these people that I’ve reacted to are so good! I know I personally learned so much from being a college music major, but it also caused me to be in my head for a couple of years and doubt my abilities. But experience is always the best teaching to me, and it seems like the people I’ve reacted to have a lot!
A story from her, when she was younger, she was trained by her father to sing inside a drum full of water. She was literally inside shouting out loud. Her late father is her number 1 fan. Her father believes that she will become the best of the best in philippines. And it became a reality! Shes really our pride. Our asias songbird....

Being knowledgeable in music theoretically can have a downside, in that you’re aware of the notes you’re singing (eg G4, B5, etc) and it can psyche you out before you even hot that note and can cause some tension. For this reason, Regine intentionally ignores the top notes she can hit because doing otherwise will just discourage her from hitting notes that extend past that upper limit before she even gets a chance to attempt them.

Regine’s life is all about singing. She started competing in amateur singing contests at the age of 6, competing with adults. So it’s mainly experience and practice for her. It was only later on when she took some formal singing lessons, which helped her with improving her already solid natural technique.

Actually it’s only been lately around 2018 when she started to mix her belts out of necessity but prior to that, she was purely belting and uses her chest voice. The unique thing about Regine is that she has a naturally high voice, and contrary to most female singers who exhibit a break at some point in the scale, Regine does not have a break. She can go full voice comfortably all the way up to the 5th octave. The reason why she’s lasted this long, having been a belter since 1984 when she started showbiz, is she has amazing technique honed by her dad (her dad would make her play around in the water, and then make her sing while in chest-deep water) and blessed with vocal cords and strong lungs/ diaphragm ( though after she gave birth to her son in 2012? she admitted that her diaphragm weakened and it was a bit harder for her to belt). Also, she enjoys belting so one can Make the case that she’s lasted this long because she really enjoys what she does and has no bad habits like drinking or smoking or partying, except maybe eating.
