      Always amazes me that this game is still in "Alpha". By the time it's in Beta, it could potentially be a great sim. By the time it hits full release, it could be the best sim of all time if the dev's keep up at the rate they are.

      Well for a long time its physics were agreed by many as iffy at best. Though slowly there have been improvements here and there under the noses of a lot of sim racing guys and with the more recent tire and ground update it really pushed the physics up to a true high point even when compared objectively to other big popular sim titles. Its only going up from here.

    Great video. I agree, BeamNG used to be "just" a crash sim but it developed into an amazing driving simulator overall. One advantage it has over all regular racing games I've tried is, that it has realistic gearboxes, even when driving with an automatic. And it gets understeer and locking breaks right, something many racing games also are super unrealistic at. In many games, if you understeer or even lock your breaks, no matter what you do, it's basically over, you'll kiss the wall. Not so in BeamNG. As it works in real life, an understeering car can actually be saved by carful breaking and steering.

    • @jonasgrill1155
      @jonasgrill1155 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Yeah, that's the whole selling point of BeamNG, and what they've always been trying to accomplish. At first they were mostly working on crash physics, but the main goal of BeamNG is to have as realistic of a car simulator as possible, and in recent years they've done a good job at that.
      Basically everything that could be simulated in a car, is simulated now, it's insane.
      It's also crazy to think the game is _still in alpha._ Imagine how much more the game is gonna be if this is what the alpha is like!

      It's no brainer that BeamNG has the appropriate/best simulation of Chassis flex/vibration, suspension modeling, weight transfer and clutch characteristics you can ever find in a Simulator. And it most certainly tops every other Simulators with its soft body physics. The only problem people have with it is the tyres tend to come off as too grippy because BeamNG doesn't Simulate Tyre wear and Tyre temperatures but I think as time goes on they'd get there. Some people give it slack too for its graphics or unlicensed cars which is just a small part of how amazing this game is.

    That's because BeamNG isn't really a crash sim? It's just meant to be a super realistic driving simulator, and that entials crashing. Like, they simulate how oil flows through the car and how it affects the engine, how running low on coolant can affect the engine, what having damaged gaskets or piston heads can do, etc.
    It's just meant to be an extremely realistic driving simulator.
