Hey man, I bought this a few years ago at Pasic and finally started learning it this week, wish I hadn’t waited so long, it’s really fun to learn your composition!

The Hebron drumline used this in their 2019 drum show, how do you feel about this arrangement?

This is without question one of my favorite musical compositions. I am currently an 8th grader and seeing this has inspired me to learn this piece. So far, it is extremely difficult, but I love every minute of it. Keep up the good work!

Great performance! I was wondering why you play with your pointer finger sticking out some? Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words. I use mostly middle/ring finger for my fulcrum. When I'm relaxed my first finger just comes out a bit. Same happens with some of my past educators playing. I know some people harp on it, but as long as I'm relaxed and it hasn't interfered with me getting around the keyboard, I just let it happen. When I first started college however, I did strive to keep my technique as "proper" as possible. I'm on the idea of always learn everything the way your instructor(s) want first and then let your hands evolve to how they move best as you continue growing!

It appears and sounds as if you play a b-flat in measure 5 but my copy looks like a b. Is this an edit before / after the fact? which is correct? I am beginning to work on this piece and want to learn it correctly.

If I'm thinking of the right one ( high note around 00:15) I play a B natural in the video. I'd imagine B is correct, but it's been awhile since I've played this one.

If you mean the spot around 00:27, that should be a Bb.

I wish my school was rich enough to enjoy having a 5 octave marimba, then I would try my hardest to learn this
