What i wanted to know, is how do i make a mockup of a T-Shirt for my store, that has the exact same color as my T-Shirt created on Printify. Printify has some preset colors. If i want to make a mockup of that specific T-Shirt on place it, i have to manually try to figure out the color i have on the T-Shirt, which is impossible to do. If a customer sees my mockup and likes the color, but orders the T-Shirt and it's actually not the color tone they saw on the picture, they're gonna send it back. There must be a way for PlaceIt to do this. I mean it's the most obvious thing.

Hey great question! I'm not sure why it would not be saving as transparent, however my assumption is the location or method of opening the downloaded file on your computer. I hope that helps lead you to the solution!

Fantastic! Great question too. I don't believe there is a filter to sort by 'text only' so my personal method for doing this is to remove the graphic from templates and only use the text. You can remove the graphic by clicking 'no image' on the graphic library, or you can just drag the graphic off the canvas if the template allows you to move the graphic manually. I hope that's helpful!
Hi Greg, just purchased placeit through your link, but I noticed it only gives option to download tshirt designs in 72 DPI, which is way too low than standard 150-300 DPI. Please help I am confused now.
Hey Asif, great question! Yes, 72 is the dpi that Placeit downloads in. However it's plenty for print on demand (I've been using 72dpi on my personal POD for years and have even ordered samples of the items to confirm the print quality). I hope that helps put your mind at ease!

I have a question: I want to make a t-shirt for my husband's business and he has a logo as a .png file. It has a white rectangle behind the text/graphics so it can show up on a dark t-shirt. This should be simple, right? I already have my graphic and just want to upload it; I do not need any of the designs that Placeit offers. I am using the Designs > Blank Canvas option. However, every time I try to create this on Placeit and download it, the horizontal white background expands into the entire block; I do not see a way to crop it to the horizontal rectangle. Does any of this make sense? If so, can you point out what I'm missing? Many thanks in advance.
Hey thanks for asking about this. I think the issue is with the background color in the top right corner of the designer. If you haven't tried already, I would try selecting the background color as transparent in the bottom right corner of the color options. That should change the background to transparent before downloading. I hope that helps!

Having trouble with mockup for shower curtain. My design is blown up 3x the actual size. A small floral pattern ends up with 3 or 4 large flowers. Do I need to start with a certain size pixels to start with?
I have 2 questions i did not see shown. How do I delete designs I made but don't want ? Also when using a pre design on placeit, when i try to replace the words with what i want, it won't let me if its more letters than the original design. How can i use more letters?

Why am I not able to change the colors of tops on placeit? Can you only do that if you have the paid subscription? Because sometimes it seems to be adding an opacity to it, like a terrible flat grey image. NOT the color I'm asking it to change to.

Great question, and thank you for the comment. I do this all the time actually. You can save it as a 'Draft' and then when you hover over your username, you can click 'My Drafts' and re-use the template. This is what I do for thumbnails. I hope that helps!

Hey Brittney, it's probably the file size it's referring to. Try uploading the png to compressor.io (lossy setting), download the new smaller one, then try uploading that new smaller png. I hope that helps!

You will be able to download new mockups during your subscription, but not after cancellation. However, you can still use your downloaded mockups after cancellation.
Hello Greg, thanks for your helpful tutorials but I have still a few questions. On my laptop the layout is different from what you are showing, The PlaceIt logo is right in the middle of the header and in the left corner are three horizontal lines on top of each other on which you have to click to go to the submenus, like on a mobile phone. Also the editing layout is different: instead of being on both sides of the design, you have to scroll down to edit etc....So why is it different? There is a limit of 20 drafts being saved. I can't find how to delete drafts to make room for new ones. Can you help me out? Thanks!

When I choose transparent background, it comes out with a white background when downloaded to my files. Why is that?

Is there a “text” section for just using words. I would send them to a transfer company then heat press them

Great question! Yes you can. You would download the mockup from Placeit and then upload the mockup from your computer to Shopify as an image.
Can you edit existing designs saved on your downloads section? Because I'm looking for a design that I can't find anymore but I've used it before and I want to download it and edit it to make a slightly different design. Does anyone know how to do this?

You will be able to download new mockups during your subscription, but not after cancellation. However, you can still use your downloaded mockups after cancellation.

those say 72 DPI, merch by amazon has a requirement of 300 dpi PNG
72dpi is fine, I personally use it. 300 dpi is only a recommendation and not required.

Hello Greg, thanks for your helpful tutorials but I have still a few questions. On my laptop the layout is different from what you are showing, The PlaceIt logo is right in the middle of the header and in the left corner are three horizontal lines on top of each other on which you have to click to go to the submenus, like on a mobile phone.
Also the editing layout is different: instead of being on both sides of the design, you have to scroll down to edit etc....So why is it different?
There is a limit of 20 drafts being saved. I can't find how to delete drafts to make room for new ones. Can you help me out? Thanks!
