This is just a tiny fraction of the city -actually it is huge in area and very spread out having suburbs that reach out southwards, northwards and everywhere! Population however is not huge -about half a million! Though things are changing now with more high rise apartments, traditionally Australians have loved their separate houses with big gardens and surrounds.Climate is very severely cold in winter because of altitude and proximity to the Australian Alps and snowfields.

I grew up in Canberra (originally from the UK, 10 pound Pom’s, came over on the “Oriana”with my family. )So it was great connecting with my childhood home again, as I moved to Sydney & then Auckland and now I’m wanting to come back to Australia to settle hopefully soon all things going well. I imagine it has changed quite a lot and looks like for the better which is wonderful and I cannot wait to be back in Australia! …
