i dont know if you will ever read this but I have been listening to your music for a few months now and of all the music out in the world right now, yours just does something to me everytime I listen. it doesn't matter what song I'm listening to I always feel the exact same. you touch a part of my heart and soul that no one does. l am a recovering addict and I have been sober for almost a year now. a month ago I reconnected with a friend of mine that I had used with, he was the kind of person that lit up a room. his heart was so pure and kind. it didnt matter how many times he got hurt by people or fucked over he still loved everyone and anyone he met and never expected a thing in return. he was there for me at some of my lowest moments in life and honestly I dont know if I would be here now if he hadn't been there for me with a hug and a warm bed. he was respectful to me and not many people are. he made my heart happy just like you do Matt Maeson. when reconnected with Cole I introduced him to your music. together we sat on the floor in his room at his recovery home and listened to everyone of your songs. to go from using together and battling severe depression to being sober and living a life of recovery was amazing. Sadly I had to bury Cole 3 weeks ago... days after Cole and I reconnected he relapsed for the last time... I have had a really hard time dealing with this but your music helps give me the strength to fight another day. as sad as I am that cole passed away i am also so so glad that I was able to share your music with him before he passed. you are so incredibly talented and your lyrical style is fucking amazing. if you are ever in Minnesota I'd do anything to meet you and see a show.

I first found Matt when i was deep in various addictions in a dark place in my life. Lost, cold, confused, and not wanting to deal with my problems, just to forget them. Time moved on and i stopped listening for a few years. I got sober 4 months ago and since then ive been able to make some drastic life changes for the better, finally done ignoring the issues, finally wanting to deal with my shit and move on. I hadnt heard this song until 2 weeks ago but it has been my top song since then. 4 years was a long time for me to waste on stupid shit. But i realized there's still time for me to better my life.
