Honestly, if not for Voyager being in the Delta Quadrant, it’s entirely possible the Undine/Species 8472 would have destroyed the Borg and the rest of life in the galaxy, since they seemed pretty intent on killing everyone in the Milky Way after dealing with the Borg

There are more than enough aliens with godlike powers in the Milky Way to stop 8472. Metrons, Organians, Cytherians, Douwd, Q, etc. can all make 8472 go back to their own dimension.

-Voyager wouldn't even be a footnote in any history book. Possibly destroyed during the Dominion War or relegated to chauffeuring diplomats around.
-Instead of the Bellerophon transporting Admiral Ross, Sloan, and Dr. Bashir to Romulus, it could have been Voyager.
-Chakotay and crew would either have been in a Federation prison or killed by the Dominion except for Seska. The Cardassians would retrieve her.
-Dreadnought would have impacted Rakosa V, killing thousands if not millions.
-Seven would still be a drone.
-Species 8472 would have tried to destroy all life in the galaxy.
-The Krenem time ship would still exist and altering destinies in the Delta Quadrant.
-The Doctor would be replaced by the EMH Mark II, and the Mark II would be replaced by the Mark III, and so on and Lewis Zimmerman would have eventually died from his illness.
-The Equinox would have eventually been destroyed by those creatures.
-Tom Paris would still be in a penal colony.
-Slip Stream technology wouldn't be known.
-The 37's would still be on ice.
-The Vaadwaur would still be on ice.

Now I'm curious what would have happened if Voyager's crew had still been alive after being sent to the Delta Quadrant. I feel like the Starfleet-Maquis dynamic would have taken a lot longer to balance out than it did. Really don't see Voyager lasting long in the Dominion war - JW skills are primary scientific exploration her command rigidity doesn't allow her to be very adaptive.
Since the Federation is mostly OP against most of it enemies - it's not a really big time problem. I could see her managing a couple of tactical retreats - but on the long run, she would have kept to standard Federation SOP. And thus entrapped by the Gem'dhar.

@DavidEvans_dle i mean they would either recrew the ship appropriately or not choose to send Janeway into combat. Or if they did, the specific missions/functions would be more suited.
That said, most starfleet captains and crew are no doubt more interested in science and exploration, and the way they typically solve a situation is through clever application of that scientific acumen. The purely strategic or tactical victories are far less common than the technobabble ones. So Janeway would probably do fine, though without the shield of title ship, they may not get the chance to clever their way out of the first bad situation.

So basically, there's a VERY good reason why Voyager was preserved in the Fleet Museum...
Apparently the Intrepid class were in high demand during the Dominion War as blockade runners and fast transports (Which is what the Bellerophon is seen doing if I remember right), because they were some of the fastest ships in the entire Alliance and even stock Intrepid's were tough ships when it came to a fight.

I mean, the crew didn't sign up to get lost, and never see their families again. I'm sure Starfleet has limited contracts. Someone who signs a 2-4 yr contract, is not expecting to never see their wife, children, parents, etc. ever again. We know how Voyager got home a little earlier than it was supposed to. But, still. Not to mention the recognition of photonic lifeforms and how to sustain them long term.
If she'd stayed, they'd have been just another Starship in the Dominion war, maybe even destroyed by the Breen weapon and amounting to little as a result but more casualties on the list.

For a 30 min video you sure glaze over most of the important stuff & repeat yourself over & over.
    1) Saying Voyager would be an unremarkable ship 10x should be edited out. That's nothing new.
    2) Janeway wasn't a good Captain. She was a war criminal. Her unique circumstances allowed her to be the judge, jury, & executioner - which avoided any consequences of her actions since anything goes in the Delta Quadrant.
    3) All you said about 7/9 was "Oh well they wouldn't have found her." Not that she doesn't join the Fenris Rangers, meet Picard, or end up on the Enterprise later on. Skimming over her? What gives?
    4) Claiming Harry Kim would be promoted more often had he not been on Voyager. Hard disagree. You even disagree with yourself admitting he is a better officer because of his Delta Quadrant experiences, so when he gets back - he probably rises very quickly through the ranks. Faster than he would have otherwise. There are stories of people reaching Captain in 7 years or faster. Would Kim have? Probably not. However we have no canon material afterwards that explain his career advancement post Voyager, but I'm willing to bet he got 2-3 promotions within the 1st year back. Probably was Commander within 2-3 years. Captain within 5. That's 12-15 years to Captain. Either way, still a good pace to Captain. Only without his Voyager experience a much WORSE one.
    5) You forget to mention major events like Belana Torres not having a child! Kes doesn't become a super powered being. Tuvix? Neelix isn't on the crew at all either. Species 8472 probably never know about the Federation for quite some time. The Romulans are actually on the map between them & The Federation. So the Romulans would have most likely joined the Federation to ask for help against them, or formed an alliance depending on when they arrived. This would have made the events right before Picard totally different because trust would have been established.
There is so much more. I know how hard it is to make videos as I have a few channels myself. I can't imagine doing a 30 min video & not actually cover anything that mattered. It's like watching a book report that a kid rushed through. You can do better & should do better.

People saying Voyager would not make a difference in things like the dominion war fail to understand the niche that voyager would best fill. Voyager would not be best used in major battles, but in the traditional role of a cruiser. It was the fastest ship in the federation, even before it went to the delta quandrant. It had top of the line sensors. Thus it would be best for intelligence gathering, hit and run strikes, raiding logistics, and long range deep strikes. Just sending it on a long range operation to cover the circumference of the cardassian union would have forced the dominion to dedicate ships to either hunt it down or dedicate more forces to defend targets far from the front line (especially if Voyager was made leader of a task force of small but long endurance ships, a sort of destroyer leader like the Atlanta class was originally meant to be during ww2). It would not be as legendary as it ended up being, but i think if used properly and with a bit of luck, it could have been a major contributor to a federation victory.
Addendum: some other operations it could be good for would be to supply maquis as a resistance movement against the cardassians and dominion, inserting specops, and other sneaky ops. Basically, it could use its speed to come from unexpected directions, arrive at locations faster than an adversary expects/can prepare for, run when it is outgunned, and overtake adversaries it could fight.

If she didn't get lost in the Delta quadrant she more than likely would have gotten "lost" in the Gamma quadrant. If they had stayed in the alpha quadrant when they had completed their mission they probably would have been sent through the Bajoran wormhole for exploration where we learn a number of ships and a colony had been destroyed before the episode "The Jem'Hadar" that or possibly getting back to DS9 to warn Starfleet ahead of time

Only one nitpick - Voyager was a deep range tactical vessel, not a science ship - the Equinox was a science ship, and they got their butts handed to them. Almost all Starfleet vessels do science missions, but the Intrepid class wasn’t purpose-built for science.

Voyager could still have ran a similar story during that war even if it was still in the alpha and beta quadrants. Except this time her mission could have been to find anything which may help win the war opposed to getting home. Remember Babylon 5 Crusade? A mission like that, a lone ship on a mission, just as it was in the delta quadrant. Same story, different situation and mission objective.

Voyager would've been destroyed, with all hands, during the 2nd Klingon/Federation war. It wouldn't even have made to be in the Dominion War. If, by some miracle that it did make it into the Dominion war, it DEFINITELY would've been destroyed at the first battle of Chintoka.

  • @DarkStarX
    @DarkStarX วันที่ผ่านมา

In response to fighting falcon 777. I disagree. I don’t think the Borg would’ve been destroyed. I think they would’ve sent a large fleet into the Alpha quadrant taking over the federation, Romulan and Klingon empires. With that diversity they probably would’ve come up with a solution themselves to deal with species 8472. So without voyager to provide a buffer, the Alpha & Beta quadrants would be no more.
