Love your videos. Can’t watch enough. I live in the USA. Abandoned houses here are usually totally wrecked with graffiti everywhere, broken windows and torn out wires. Such a joy to see things left as they were.

5 single beds and the double bed tells me that a family once lived there. I was half expecting there to be an old newspaper with a date on it so we could estimate how long the house has been abandoned for.
The wedding picture looks to be from the 1920s - 1930s.

You're right, there are a lot of single beds. Sometimes I wish you would pick up more items such as cards or letters etc. I'm intrigued about past occupants. I entered an abandoned property once and there were papers everywhere. I discovered the man of the house was an electrician and I read in old papers that his daughter was electrocuted and died. The man appears to now live with a family member a few hours drive away. I came to the conclusion that he and his wife split at the distress about the loss of their daughter and maybe he couldn't continue work because of the accident. The man's brother partly owned the house with him but the man left everything there to start a new life with a relative. The house has been sold and renovated.

Wow! Now that is a perfect example of solving the awesome mysteries of these abandoned places. Yeah this was one of my first videos and I did not really pick through the stuff closely. The more videos I do and comments I read the better I get at knowing what is not boring for people haha. :-)

Such a shame for all that antique furniture to just stay here in there & rot away.

There were so many beds, must have had a few kids or relatives or used as a holiday house at one stage after the elderly passed on. Ceilings were great and same with wood paneling. The door handles were different styles some 1890's some 1920's. I would have liked to have seen that wedding photo as you can date photo's by style and eyebrows. Great explore chief. Kind regards from 86.

That was a good explore, that one CFL (compact fluorescent light globe) was a giveaway as to when the house may have been last occupied, as they have only been on the market since the mid 2000's.

good that you vlogged this before it was bulldozed. Elderly folk loved and lived here in this house. Full of memories etched in all the walls. Your camera told the story of the house, there is so much stuff left behind the family did not take. great explore tyvm

Some rooms where really showing how long it was empty while some didn't show much dirt, all the beds looked relatively clean but maybe it just didn't show in the video. Glad you had the chance to video it before it was torn down

There was light dust on the made up bed, chips of the ceiling paint also. Yeah when a window or doors are open it allows the breeze to carry far more dust around than if the place is closed up. Sad that the photo was not taken....

Love this old home, that pink bed spread is amazing and the old bedroom furniture, I felt like I stepped back into the 1960s. I loved when the bedrooms were big, the houses now you can't swing a cat in the bedrooms. I guess the mould, dust and the danger would stop squatters living there, some of these homes look like they could fall down if a strong wind come along. Thanks for sharing your videos with us, you do an amazing job.

      @urbexindigo5164  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Seems a big family or a small boarding home this one? Has not been updated other than a little add on at the back so this one would have had very long time elderly owners for sure! . One of the first videos too! :-)

I like the layout of this one. Cute it had a blue boys room and a pink girls room :) Maybe a care person stayed in the small anteroom to the main bedroom. All the colors in some of these homes make me smile- even the ceilings are sometimes painted in colors, not just white.

My favorite item was the fringed hanging lamp. All a very 60's-70's vibe there, with the curtains as well. I would actually use a lot of this type of thing to decorate, so people's tastes and likes can be misleading to the time of occupancy. Vintage is cool. The wedding dress photo was stunning! I saw a recent explore of yours, liked your style so subbed, now going through them from the beginning. You've definitely gotten better, but even your first few are fun to join you as you poke through the cobwebs. Keep up the good work!

    • @urbexindigo5164
      @urbexindigo5164  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Haha firstly i`m glad you identified my earlier ones from the recent ones as I had not much experience at all other than having the nerve to explore these places. We used to snoop around all sorts of of farm buildings as kids so this was like revisiting my youth a bit haha. I love the adventure of the old homes. I definitely felt this old house was maybe a grand mother looking after a heap of grand kids and her daughter too. Seems to be a lot of kids beds. Maybe Grandma passed away and they moved out. Thanks for subbing and watching Tanya :-)

Wow, what a find/explore! Watched it twice (so much to absorb and see), I'll probably want to watch it again. The photo was the part that hit me - that was someone's wife, and possibly mother/granny/great granny. Very poignant piece of the puzzle. The A1 Motels card has locations on it that we passed through when we visited Australia in 2005. So much info to be gleaned from the comments alone, I could binge watch your vids all day. TFS.

Wow the ceilings art! Very nice Paul❣
That screech when you opened that closet made me jump! I'm usually not like that. Lol. My heart is still beating fast! Yes I'm watching and typing together.
Very collectable black photo of the bride- maybe the owners? It is very nice. People love those photos here. How about their in Australia?
Ok.... quit the freaky music! Your creeping me out. You usually don't do scary videos! I'm laughing but it's scary. I was waiting for someone to jump out at you too! That would be funny if a bird came flying out at you Again! Lol
My heart skipped a couple of beats in that video. Ha!
Oh man, there was this old abandoned prison we had in Illinois and kids used to go to it all the time because of its reputation. My mom went when she was in high school too. Anyway... someone knew we were all going out there and thought it would be a great idea to scare us. Well it did!! So bad that 3 of them got jumped and beat up! It was terrifying to all of us. I never went back to that place. By now I'm sure it's torn down, but who knows??. That would be a neat place to do a scary movie or just video it like you do houses. Only have the back ground of some of the X prisoners.
This was a good video. The music just plain freaky.👍

Hey Sandra glad you enjoyed this one! This one was like my 3rd video so it is a little different from my latest, yes the music I deliberately tried to make a bit creepy haha. This house was demolished 3 months after the video so about a year ago....I wonder if all of the furniture was saved......and the photo. Sad to think someone could live there all their life and have their wedding photo lost and smashed to bits......Your encounter at the old Prison sound full on! And no wonder you did not back!!!!! Thanks for watching Sandra :-)

The card for A1 Motels at 8:10 is interesting, as I can't find a single hotel by that name, yet the earliest google maps shows some places that likely were the same hotel at one point, which show evident remodeling to update them. I would guess the card may be from the 1990s or perhaps much earlier (the place itself was forgotten a long time ago.)

I have watched all your videos and am re-watching them because I really enjoy them. I live in the southern US, South Carolina, and I realized that a lot of these old country houses you film are very similar to old houses here and especially old houses that were built around cotton mills turn of last century, (houses with a long central hallway with rooms on either side and usually the kitchen in the rear--breezeway houses). Why did you use the word Indigo in your title? Please keep making videos and perhaps a little background on how you came to love and want to document these wonderful old houses. Thanks

Looks like it was built around the 1920's and like it hasn't been occupied at least since the late 90's or even the 80's, that room with the concrete blocks looks like it was added later on, pretty sure someone stayed there for awhile in recent years. Seems like the people who lived there sorted out most of their belongings except for a few pieces of furniture and that interesting bridal photo, maybe a failed marriage and that's why they had no problem leaving it behind, love creating scenarios out of these videos lol, it's fascinating.

You sum it up pretty well and it is the cycle of life and death and decay and renewal. This is what makes it worth documenting what was once there as a lot of the time there are no recorded histories, just memories. These sort of videos will become an archive of history and what once was. :-)

This looks like the old style of shared disabled living
The main bedroom had a made up single room attached which may have been for the overnight carers ...
if ya had take the photograph out of the frame ya would have found the name and date of the print and possibly the person in the photo... as they always wrote on the backs coz didn’t have stamping back in those times.. (I have many of my Nanna from 1918 like that)

Yep. A bit sad to think it was someones home for probably a long time!!!! I have recently observed a few houses going through the salvage process and I`m pretty sure the salvage crew come in first and remove anything of worth and remove all the hard rubbish or junk they deem not worthy. Then then the demo team comes in and knocks it down with the big bucket arm of a big ground digger.

Awwwww..... you don't suppose that lady in the wedding dress was the owner of the house?...it'd makes for a good, but sad story.
I agree, the hand rails and shower seat speak of an elderly person- but all the bedrooms with mattress's makes me feel she (and I sense it was a she by that bed all made up- almost as a final tribute to her after she died) ...had others living with her--- that other bed just outside her room-- a caretaker, maybe... a family member perhaps?
    .
The house is definitely very early 20th century- that linoleum on the floor has a very early pattern, that was popular in the 'teens-> 1920/30's.
The others living in the house didn't have any need for the furniture after the owner died-- they clear out all personal item throughly... which re-enforces my thoughts there were family members living with the "lady in the wedding dress" up until her death.... then they packed their suit cases, made up her bed as she would have wanted it left-- and departed.

Hey ana Ixtar! Hey I was thinking maybe granny was looking after a heap of children too as the rooms all had several single beds? Maybe the photo of the lady is the gran of the family and they were all living there. The floors were starting to give way and sink so perhaps they though ahhh too hard and just left it all behind. I checked on that house about 2 months after I filmed it and it was a flat block of dirt with nothing remaining what so ever ready for a new house to go up. That part really intrigues me that most likely that lady had lived there most or all of her life and now there is absolutely nothing there to represent history. I`m glad I got it on video. :-)

ana ixtar Your observations are very well thought out, and I like seeing if my perspective is near others .. the mystery of these neglected or abandoned finds, this is half of the explore .. I had concluded the lady in dress was the homeowner also. And appears as you stated the family took what hey wanted n left it for nature to reclaim. Quite sad. But in a beautiful setting and eyes of seeing what it appears to have a been That’s my enjoyment. Love seeing another users comment on their opinions for mystery exploring. You are very visual and gleen a bit more than I do😲 I rewatch my favorites. Thank you Happy for the nice compliments...:)
I try to look beyond what we all see- a house abandoned and at the end of its life. That is where sadness can come in-- But I also look at them for what they once were.... like the living room with a well blacken fireplace hearth- you know there were many happy Christmas Eve's spent about a cheery fire.
      .
With experience I have learned to look for those little thing that say to me- "For many years there was happiness here."
      .
I just recently was in a old vacated Victorian, and sure enuff, looking where i was pretty sure I'd find them- were the pencil and pen marks, with little names and dates along a door way border. It was the details of a family- for there were the children's height measured over many years, on their various birthdays,
How could that ever be sad??........:)

Ok, now this one was a little unsettling. I wonder if the person died in there. Have you experienced any places where your camera kept losing focus? That is a sure sign of a spirit. I've seen it on this one & other videos. Now I know you'll probably say it was the auto focus, but some of the youtubers said there's was off. I don't know I'm not an expert. I've seen thousands of videos of different kinds & rarely see the camera lose focus. Anyway I personally like it when the items are dug through for anything that can help understand the owners story. Thanks Paul, this one was so cool. 💜👩🇺🇲

Urbex Indigo I find myself coming back to your channel often, I watch the first time for the WOW And look at what’s in design, look what’s left behind. And as you stated 😱. Is one of these really about to have a person of an abandoned life of drug or drink ,which might be dangerous for our guy!!!! After no danger, I go back to then see the items , personal effects , furniture, and wall pictures and, and, and👏👏👏 I do attempt to view the comments posted, showing, ohhh 😲 and awe , as I always see something I missed .When another comment is added it’s Wahoo for me, as a second set of eyes👀 I find so helpful..

Hey Missouri Red I totally get where your coming from and the conundrum for me is that I cant give away too many details via the video if it is not going to be demolished. Some of these old houses may have owners who just do not visit them while they wait for the land price to rise. The problem is other explorers watching figure out where these homes are and if they are vandals as well they will trash them. This is why i cant go right into the history of them if I do find out some. It is a shame but it is part of the exploring code. :-)
