    Can a drop in progesterone cause a watery or mucus discharge because it’s low & estrogen is high?

  • @gypsylvia
    @gypsylvia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The risk increases for breast and ovarian cancer with both progesterone and estrogen replacement, is that correct? Or is it only increased if you use estrogen and progesterone replacement cyclicly rather than steadily (same amounts of each) per day?

      @@MenopauseTaylor I was asking a question based on what you said at 9:00-9:45. In summary, as I understand it: Estrogen causes uterine cancer, progesterone prevents it. Cyclical progesterone and estrogen cause breast and ovarian cancer. So my question was: how to prevent ovarian and breast cancer when supplementing with HRT? Is it by NOT cycling them and taking them regularly?

    What about anxiety? I didn't have any until post menopause.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many women have anxiety as a result of estrogen loss. Post-menopause marks the time when you lose your estrogen. But some have it during peri-menopause. It's all over the continuum.

    My Dr recently prescribed Imvexxy & Reveree suppositories for vaginal dryness. I was also told I have stenosis of the cervix. What are your opinions of Imvexxy stenosis of the cervix?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a fallacy that hot flashes are the most problematic symptom for women at menopause. Hot flashes are just the one they'll talk about.
      The biggest problem is vaginal dryness. And with vaginal dryness comes many other problems ... including vagina SHRINKAGE.
      Here's how it goes:
      Your vagina is a tube that has very think skin and very wrinkled walls that are very lubricated. Then, when you lose your estrogen at menopause, the wall gets paper thin, the wrinkles disappear, and the lubrication dries up. This all adds up to the simple fact that your vagina SHRINKS at menopause ... unless you use estrogen to prevent it.
      The thick wall, wrinkles, and lubrication are what enabled you to use your vagina for intercourse and delivering a baby. But, without estrogen, you can do none of those things.
      Your vagina is extremely selfish when it comes to estrogen. It wants tons of it ... more than the other parts of your body. So, even if you're taking estrogen that travels throughout your body and meets your other needs, your vagina may still be dissatisfied. That's they there are estrogen preparations that are only for local use in your vagina and that confine themselves to your vagina (meaning they don't send the estrogen throughout your body.) All the estrogen creams fall in to this category, as do Vagifem vaginal tablets (which is the same thing as your Imvexxy) and the Estring. The Femring gives both your body and your vagina estrogen.
      The Reverse is noting but a vaginal moisturizer. It does nothing to preserve your vagina or prevent it from shining,
      One of the things that happens to many women is that their vagina literally seals shut.
      Cervical stenosis is an entirely separate matter. If you watched video 7, I taught you about all the anatomical structures of your reproductive tract. Your cervix is the door to your uterus. It looks exactly like a bagel: round with a hole in the middle of it.
      That hole is the door. And, just as you've seen bagels with open holes and bagels with closed holes, that's exactly what your cervix does. The hole opens and closes to let things in and out of your uterus.
      Cervical stenosis is when the hole is permanently closed, usually due to scar tissue. So, nothing can go into your uterus or get out of your uterus.
      Cervical stenosis has no effect on your ability to use vaginal estrogen. You should not connect the two things. They are entirely separate matters.
      If you need more personalized help, you can schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.

    In your opinion, is it OK to get your progesterone from the Mirena IUD and then use Estrogen lotion? I’m only 44, peri menopause and don’t want to get pregnant 😬 and can’t do BCPs.
    Thanks again for a great video!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Absolutely! And the great thing about the Mirena IUD is that progesterone does not circulate throughout your body and make you feel yucky like all the other progesterone options do.
