- Today you join me for something completely different. A few months ago I was invited by the team behind the UK RC Truckers national gathering to attend their annual show at Newark show ground.
The closed event for members took place over a sunny weekend and featured a giant RC layout for people to run RC Trucks, cars, diggers and all manor of construction vehicles.

Somebody mentioned that they'd like to see trains there too. If there were some 3.5" gauge Eurotunnel wagons to transport their trucks from one end of the hall to the other, that would be cool. They could also have a container terminal.

I hate these video's....It makes me extreme jealous...I have 7 Tamiya 1/14th rc trucks myself. I live in Belgium, and we don't have such an events here. I wish we had....😒

I have been to Euromodelbouw Genk a few times and seen this in one of the halls there. There are also agriculture models on show. The show has a bit of everything and has always been worth going to. I have taken video there.

I'm new to the whole RC phenomenon; so I hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions:
- That telehandler looks amazing, can I buy a similar one somewhere?
- Farm tractors; I see them in many videos, Fendt, JCB, Claas etc, but I haven't found them in any shop, do you know where to buy them?
Always liked the excavators, face shovel looked great.
I really enjoyed watching these at a model show in Belgium. It is great to see you showing them and would be good to see more of this kind of thing. There are even HO scale models now they are amazing to see with working lights indicators, brake lights and emergency vehicles complete with sound.

I loved this video, don't mind that it wasn't railways. It's interesting how this hobby can be so collaborative with some assuming roles as loaders/unloaders, others and transporters etc. It makes railway exhibitions look insular by comparison. I've visited some North American train shows where they achieve a little of this collaboration by creating modular layout sections (with prescribed entrance and exit tracks) that all fit together into a massive (though thematically inconsistent) layout, which they then take turns running their trains along. Anyway - more content like this will be well received I think.

It may not be trains but its still scale modeling and I myself used to be into nitro rc monster trucks and buggys in 1/8th and 1/6th scale.

Hiya Richard. It was a very informative video and must say I did enjoy it . I also built model trucks as well as a modern image N gauge layout as it keeps my modelling skills sharp as well as a break from the railway especially with recent events.
Awesome video, the entire setup is awesome and it looks like it was a blast.
Have passed the link to my Nephew who is into his RC trucks, he will enjoy this as I just did :-)

Great to see something different Richard. I have N gauge railway, RC Land Rover & Tug boat, the later gets used more than the LR as I reside on a narrow boat.

My kids talked me into building a truck a few years ago after seeing them at an exhibition. I built a truck and a couple of trailers and let them loose. It turns out they are pretty delicate, if they damage mine so be it but I would hate for them to damage someone else's so I don't dare go to things like this. The poor truck rarely gets off the shelf 🤣
I've got a 1/14 rc Scania, great toys....addictive lol. As you know, I love your railway vids but it great to see you investigating a different aspect of modelling. Give it a go mate. My Scanny sits at around £700 at the moment ...and still no trailer lol...Seriously...get into it...you'll love it. Stay safe

Wish I could have made this. I'm also an avid 1/10 drift car/crawler user and just purchased a 1/16 Leopard 2a6 tank the other week.
The price of these rigs is on an entirely different level.

Have you seen some of the R/C model aircraft? Some of those planes are massive! :-O
I just love to see models of all sorts, whether they be trains, cars, lorries, buses, ships, or aircraft, but I lack the patience, funds, and skill to be able to build anything like these.

@@NewJunction I've seen a few model ships on TH-cam, including a huge liner, which I think was about 14 feet long! It took 3 or 4 people to carry, launch, and retrieve it! It was tended by several tugs.

Looks like a cool event. Too bad they parked those big vehicles over the disabled parking bays.
They were privately owned so who knows
we did have some more accessible disabled bays near to a extra entrance

I have a question what type of battery do you use at this Avent as my truck is using a 7.2v 2000mah ni-cd battery and I'm only getting about 15 minute play time can I use a lipo battery with my mfc 03 so play time is a lot longer
How are these lorries and trucks powered? Who manufactures them?
7.2 or 12 volt battery's most trucks are by Tamiya and modified
