Son will be on ground floor at Taly South!! He's very chilled out so maybe not a disaster!? Will ear plugs help :) Are the parties mainly outside the building or from within the flats? Will he be constantly disturbed!!? Cheers!
I’m not too sure which one is more social, if I was you I would go for the court accommodation just because of the slightly bigger rooms and kitchen, but from either one you’re a 5 second walk from tally south and everyone just socialises outside tally south houses in the streets
Marcus Great video 👏🏼 I just got admission to study MSc at Cardiff My family(wife & 2 kids age 4&1) will be joining me I am struggling to find photo for couples/family room for talybont And what is your recommendation?? I understand from the video talybont gate n court could be ideal for family
I’m glad to hear it, I’m not too sure about Talybont accommodations being suitable for families, I’d suggest calling Cardiff University to enquire as they would know the most suitable accommodations. Or try look on the Cardiff university website as their are more suitable accommodations on there
Many thanks for your such an beneficial video. I specifically wonder which accommodation could be the best for me. I will be PhD student in Psychology Department. Could you let me know? Depending on your response, I will follow the latest news regarding deadline and prices. Sevgi.
It depends on what your preferences are. Talybont accommodations are full of first year students, so if you want to be involved in the student experience then I’d definitely look into Talybont south and north (as these are the only ones that offer postgrad accommodation), but if being close to the main campus is your priority I’d look into Aberdare Hall, Hodge Hall or others. If you visit the Cardiff Accommodation website you can filter it to buildings that offer postgrad accommodation and you’ll be able to compare them through that. This is the link, I’ve already filtered postgraduate accommodation for you - www.cardiff.ac.uk/study/accommodation/residences?collection=website-residences&form=residences&sort=metat&f.Audience%7CA=postgraduates
I’ve never taken the buses personally, here’s a link from a buss stop at Talybont south and court I couldn’t fine one from gate so it would probs be like a 5min walk from gate to the bus stop. www.cardiffbus.com/plan-a-journey?origin%5Bname%5D=Talybont%20South%20%26%20Court%20Reception&origin%5Blocation%5D%5Blat%5D=51.494454&origin%5Blocation%5D%5Blon%5D=-3.191114&destination%5Bname%5D=Cardiff%20University%2C%20Queen%27s%20Buildings&destination%5Blocation%5D%5Blat%5D=51.484052&destination%5Blocation%5D%5Blon%5D=-3.169674&time%5Bwhen%5D=arrive&time%5Bdate%5D=2021-03-01&time%5Btime%5D=14%3A45
You can get bigger Talybont North rooms then I showed in the Video (small, medium or large) so don’t rule out that choice, you can find out more about room sizes on Cardiff university website. Also I’ve made a moving into accommodation video: th-cam.com/video/xAyoR-bCdk4/w-d-xo.html
Yo mate, I’m not the best w smaller rooms, so I was looking at gate - do you recon the social atmosphere there would still be good (don’t mind travelling to other locations)
Yeh man gate sounds perfect for you then cause the room sizes at gate are actually good, and you can always just walk to take south or north which is legit 5 mins walk for socials, so yeh id deffo put that down as your first choice and then court second, and then either south or north after that. Social at gate will be alright but you’d most likely be going to south and north more often for socials because you don’t have as much space for socials at gate.
@@marcuspeters3644 thanks man that’s really helpful I’m currently putting my preferences down and doing as you advised. Do you recon there is a high likelihood of getting my higher choices?
@@willm2444 no worries bro, the earlier you do it the higher chance you have of getting the place you want, also dw if you don’t get into the one you want cause they’ll all be sound to live in and they’re all legit next door to each other.
No worries bro and Talybont court is the closest but it’s like a 26min walk one way, you’re better off getting the gym membership at Cardiff Uni cause you get access to two gyms and one of them is legit outside the accommodation
These accommodations are for Cardiff university students so you won’t be able to get in I don’t think, university of South Wales should have their own accommodation
Really appreciate this, thank you !!x
this was so helpful, thank you!
Thanks for doing this vid man
Glad I could help bro
So useful! thank you, great video
Such an informative video!!:)
I lived in Talybont South when I studied in Cardiff Uni , but I need to say Talybont Gate is the best!!!!
Yeh Talybont gate rooms are unbeaten
thanks, this was super useful!

hey thanks so much for this!! i’m thinking of going either court or north, which one would you say is more sociable? 😚
I’m not too sure which one is more social, if I was you I would go for the court accommodation just because of the slightly bigger rooms and kitchen, but from either one you’re a 5 second walk from tally south and everyone just socialises outside tally south houses in the streets
@@marcuspeters3644 thank you so much
I was in South it’s the best from my POV. However out of the two options you stated, Taly north is much more fun
would you change accom if you could. Great vid thanks
No worries bro, and if I didn’t meet my flats mates who I get along with, I would of gone to tally gate just because the rooms are so much nicer there
Arofan House or The West Wing, Cardiff?
im moving into talybont north in september oh noooo
Don’t worry the room I showed in the video was especially small, you can get bigger rooms in tally north

Talybont Court has family houses on North Road with 3 bedrooms- 1 double, 1 twin, 1 single

what are these accommodations "Talybont north south, etc", ? are these given by university or they are private accomodations? where can i find them?
Hey mate I am coming from India to study what according to you would be the best accommodation for a freshmen person
Hi ..from where in India...n which course
Is this for first years?
Yeh man these are only 4 of the accommodations you can choose, they’re all very popular so I thought I’d just explain some of the differences
If I get full scholarship, then I don’t pay accommodation?
sorry I’m not too sure about scholarships, best option would be to email the university directly
cheers mate. which one is closest to jd gym in central?
