@@aishwaryamurugappan5138 this is my final year might be starting masters in September wasn't the best to be honest but it may be good for you since our uni experiences might all be different
@@stacymund hey thanks for replying!! I’m also planning for masters this Sep but my preferences are Southampton and Exeter, any idea on them and where do you think you’ll pursue your masters and which course if I may ask..
I got my duvet from Asda and it was a single but I recommend duvets from Asda but I recommend you getting a double duvet from now so that when you move into your 2nd year house where you will have a double bed, you don't need to buy another duvet and sets! Also winter gets cold so the more duvet the better! Hope this helps x
Heyy! I’m moving onto the sixth floor soon. Do you know if all the rooms in taly court are the same? I’m so stressed out and really hope I get one like yours! Is your. Room also really quiet? Is it too hot or too cold? Anything you can tell me would really help! :)
Are the hobs induction hobs? Also what LEDs did you use as I'm reading my room offer (for Taly Court) and it says we're not allowed any kind of adhesive lights, so was wondering how you got them to stick without causing any damage. Did you hang anything up with command strips and did they come off ok at the end of the year? Finally (sorry for all the questions) do you have to provide your own fabric conditioner and laundry detergent for circuit laundry or are they included?
Depending on the flat its either electric or induction so buy pots that are for all hobs and for laundry you need to buy your own detergent, softener etc. Not sure about adhesive stuff but I used masking tape folded up like double sided tape to put up posters and pictures. Hope that helps x
Just been given taly court for accommodation this September, this video was so helpful! Thanks so much! Xx Would you say you still found taly court to be sociable? X
Omgosh that’s incredible! Enjoy! It’s what you make of it, hopefully you will have a Taly court groupchat on Facebook messenger and I found it was social through that! It can be lively sometimes but if you want a more sociable scene it’s easy to find people from different accoms! X
I had no problems, I added a mattress topper and a protector to mine and I had a good duvet and tons of pillows. Just make sure to bring good bedding! I definitely felt comfortable on it though!!
Hiya, I'm hoping to come in September so this video was super helpful thank you! Also, one of the options when applying for accommodation was undergraduate plus (UG Plus) for taly south? Do you know what this is?
Hey! I'm coming to Cardiff in Sept and I think I'm either gonna apply to Taly Court or Column Hall bc it's a bit closer to main campus and town, how do you find the location? So glad you made the video btw you seem v normal and friendly haha :)
Hia, thanks for watching and Taly Court is literally a 13 min walk to campus and it’s right next to column hall, so I would suggest basing your decision on which accom you prefer as they’re basically the same distance from campus☺️ I’d say Talybont Court is in a better location personally as it’s surrounded by loads of students and it’s closer to the big Tesco’s, and the little Tesco’s and 2 minutes really makes a difference when you’re carrying back heavy loads of shopping! Also thank you hehe☺️
The bed and mattress are provided but you need to bring, bedding such like your own duvet, pillows, blankets, mattress protector and mattress topper and then fitted sheets, and duvet sets!x
hey thanks so much for this!! would you say taly court is still quite sociable? i’ve read so many diff opinions about it so id love to hear from you, i’m struggling between court and north 😚x
I would say that the house I'm in is quite sociable for Taly Court, but if you're looking for sociable I would say Taly South. As it's very social and the bedrooms are nicer than those in North. However, if you definitely want to pick between only Court and North, I would say it's still sociable in North from what I've heard, but I would personally have still chosen Court for the living experience as well. With a normal bathroom rather than a wet room, and a regular single bed because for some reason the beds feel smaller than a single in North! Also court has sofas and high stools and Taly South and north only have a table and chairs soooo hehe... My friends are enjoying it in North though still, hope this gives a different opinion? x
I timed it the first day I came to uni and it takes me 15 minutes to walk from Taly court to the law building. The law building is quite close to Taly court, I would say give yourself 30minutes to get into town, but it just depends on your pace!! Plus there are always the free next bikes if you are running late which will get you there in 5 mins, and thank you so much xx
I haven't sorry but Clodien House is a part of Unite Private Accom and there is one opposite Taly Court as well. From what I've heard they are really nice! I've been on multiple walks around Heath Campus and it's very pretty! x
I'd say that Talybont Court is better as it is closer to the Uni campus but also close to Tescos and the McDonald's. They are both the same price though, and I have heard that Talybont Gate is more modern and a bit nicer and there are car park spaces if you need to bring your car. However, Talybont Gate is smaller than Talybont Court in terms of capacity of students so if you want to meet more people I'd say Talybont Court. Plus if you ever need to get an uber from town after a night out its cheaper to get home if you're in Talybont Court! Hope this helps x
Talybont has certainly improved since I lived there 20 odd years ago!
Just confirmed my accommodation at Taly Court, this is so helpful!!!!

Hi! Thank you so much for this video!! I read some reviews saying the internet connection in taly court is quite bad :/ is that true?
Yes it is, sometimes we wouldn’t have wifi on some days that’s why I had to get a data plan to connect my laptop too!
