Edit: Sorry that my knick knacks question was confusing, I didn't realize it's a term not used in England. In America at least, it refers to small, sort of decorative/ornamental objects. Usually people will place them on a banister, shelf or coffee table; they have no purpose or meaning, and are purely for design.
I from UK and have heard people use knick knacks to describe small ornaments and objects before.

Reading is also great for just your life in general. It's great for the mind and your moral.

I take the perspective is that even if it’s fiction your still gathering information or learning some type of lesson from a story arc that you might never experience in life, giving you at least a small perspective on what it’s like to be someone other than yourself and your own experiences.

@@J.O.E21 I think so, but I am a terrible overthinker. I often find myself reflecting a lot about my life, especially on specific aspects or passages that stands out to me. Whether it be because I have personally been through that, or know someone who has. But, also how I as a person would have reacted, or handled a situation. I haven't always thought this way about reading. I used to hate it but I had an incredible teacher back in high school, that had such a way of just explaining the words on a page and applying it to us as growing individuals. It was great. Pity that I don't read as much now, but am starting to get back into it partly because of freezy's challenge. Such a long reply but I hope you find some piece of writing that sparks that for you.

Mad relate to Josh's breathing issues with running, I have chronic pain in my ribs stemming from chronic Bronchitis and back problems, pretty much the exact same symptoms with extreme shortness of breath and pain. Didn't manage to run for literal years, getting better now with back and breathing therapy, highly highly reccommend yoga and breathing exercises to strengthen your diaphram.
Never got so scared when they set my Alexa off to put condoms in the basket on my family account
