I have not actually watched one of you keyboard demos before, clearly a guitarist first and foremost, but as my own focus has changed, I thought I'd give this a bash. How refreshing! Great guys, lovely product, and completely down-to-the-point, without being dry as fuck, or salesy AF as the other demos often are. Kudos chaps.

Haut Strange I should have reworded that, oops! I've got an actual synthesiser coming, not a nord! It's still only a "Dip-your-toes" type deal, but it does have plenty of knobs to play with. Thanks dude, I'm looking forward to it!

I bought my 6d 61 for like 10th november 2018 and this is one of my fave i use nearly everyday as i play in 3 bands amd have master grade in pop and rock this is soo good keyboard portable and extremely strong metal chassie
What is it like for playing live and accessing saved presets/patches? heard somewhere that this feature isn't avalible within the 6D

Some say his mind has 128 presets in 2 banks of 64. Others say his mom had three kids, named Roland, Kawai, and.. all we know is...he’s called Jack.

Bit the bullet and just ordered mine.. it was a toss up between so many options, but in the end this seems like one of the best all-round packages. Found a great deal on one and now very anxiously awaiting delivery :)

@@andreimclive Sold it, but that's more because I promised myself to take up lessons again and play, but just haven't had the time and motivation. Not the instruments fault. I'm just more of a tinkerer with synths, than a player :) If I had to fault the Nord, it was quite a noisy and hollow instrument to play, didn't feel as premium and nice as I had hoped.
I bought an Electro 6D 73 yesterday and the more I see, the more I cannot help but think it is extraordinary value for money. It's just MAD!

Got my 6D 61 a few weeks ago and it's one of the most addictive keyboards I've ever played. I find myself standing up, trying to go use the bathroom, but I can't stop playing the keys! The sounds are that good!

@@Yoyoboy7 As it happens, I didn't get on with the SW keys and only having 73 keys was also problematic, so returned the 6D.
I do plan to go into a bricks and mortar shop to consider the other models in the Nord range, however.
at 29.39 you are the King Jack... one and only...you "blew" Rob away with that synth riff.

They are just basically upgrading the electro little by little but do not want to make it Op to eat up into the piano or stage sales. That's why they don't sell an 88-key because of the Nord piano and a pitch Bend/Mod wheel because of the stage.
I am in the market to buy a new keyboard. I love Jack and Andersons show! I find Nord negligent to not have a pitch bend on the electro series. Forces me into buying a Roland VR-730, to replace my VR-760. I was really gung-ho on getting this 6D... but no pitch bend, when the lead and stage have one! why wouldn't they have it on the electro. NEGLIGENCE!!!
The new Yamaha Modx 6 is an excellent option if you can't afford this! What do you think?
Jonah Paz I’m literally torn between the two. I’m starting up a blues/funk band and Nord electro wins hands down with the bread and butter sounds. Modx has the vocoder and a pitch bender. 🤷🏾♂️ dont know what to do
@@kevykev388 Can I ask hat did you do? I am in a similar situation to you right now, I am frustrated that it doesn't have a pitch bend (I need another keyboard to get a pitch bend, unreal).

Not sure if you mentioned it, although I tried to figure it out, but: Seamless Transitions! It's maybe the most underrated feature of the NE6 and for some people it might be a dealbreaker! I was very dissatisfied when I found out my NE5 does not support that...
@ 2:17 talks about the three sound engines. WHY not have separate outputs for each of the sound engines. I'd like to be able to at least send the Organ out separately to a real Leslie.
An AB pedal would work pretty well for that; might even be easier than having separate outs, fewer cables dangling off the back of the keyboard.
You can do this with the stage 3
@chief tp yes, but you loose the stereo image of the synths and pianos.
Why does the nord lead 6 has no pitch bend /modulation handle?
Nord support answered: It's more a simulation of Epiano organs and the normaly have no mulation or pitchbend.
But their's also synths in it. Don,t get it vox and roland vr 730 blackhorse have pitchbends. I don,'t get the decision for not putting it in.
Nord put one in as update or add-on or something.
Ronald Rademaker because if they did they would lose sales on the stage series. They're never going to tell you the exact reason.
You can get pitch bend on Ne6 via an external keyboard sent to low.

You can pitch bend from a controller now. Good for the synth part.

This is only a suggestion. I think the video should have focused on the angle of the keyboard, meaning the overhead of the keyboard, so that we can see what buttons he’s pressing rather than watching it from a distance. I don’t find that very helpful as someone who’s shopping around for a Nord

I don't think you can manually do a layer. I think you can download the sounds through the Nord library where some presets are already layered. What that guy did was just to find it through the categories.
I bought an Electro 6D but the piano sounds, do not seem robust, Any idea of what I may need to tweak?

Does anyone know if the nord electro 6d 61 can octave shift while using the whole keyboard, rather than just on split mode?

I used to think the Electro 6 had the capability of having each sound engine on a *different* midi channel, like most of the earlier Nord keyboards. This isn't true, though. Why limit the 3-part multitimbrality? For a performing (or studio) keyboardist, it's way more useful to buy an Electro 6, and connect two separate midi controller keyboards to it, and have say, a Piano sound on one board (for instance, the Electro itself), an organ sound on the 1st midi controller, and a sample synth on the other, all on different MIDI channels... For live-looping musicians, too... it makes so much sense to be able to have different sounds on different midi channels... play what you need, without having to press any buttons and mess with anything. I just do not understand why Nord would remove this function with their current boards.
What Nord's have this functionality? I am looking at the Electro and I keep feeling like if I get this, I am going to be scratching my head as to why there aren't any basic MIDI functionalities.
@@tonylancer7367 The last one with all 6 sound engines (Piano, Piano, Organ, Organ, Synth, Synth) on 6 different midi channels was the Stage 2 EX. None since.

Is it possible to control an expandeur ? I'd like to play the sounds of the nord, and add some sounds of my integra7. For instance, integra7 bass on my left hand, and nord piano on my right hand.

Nord is Apple for keyboards... why release one new Electro each year?? Since number 4 they all sound the same.
David Alarcón Quiñones I have the electro 5. It is the same because it runs on the same sample library interface. The 6, Stage 3 however Is running on their new library.
David Alarcón Quiñones the 5 has the pipe organ and the B3 is still ran off the C2D simulator.
The biggest leap between the Electro’s was between Electro 4 and Electro 5. Finally they made it possible to stack and split sound plus envelope and filter for the sample synth section. With Electro 5 the sample synth section finally made sense.

The pianos are great on the Nords.
Miss Capri they're good for what they are. But other keyboards near the same price surpass them in depth, technical specs, realism and quality.
I disagree at least about the piano samples. Those grands beat others for sound quality, though Korg and Roland come close.
Miss Capri you can disagree if you like. Doesn't mean you're right. I play a Nord Stage 2 EX every weekend and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that the Nord piano libraries are shit compared to a Kronos or even a generic $99 piano VST. You can hear the samples looping in the decay and obvious velocity switching.
Well then, we must be hearing different things, because all I hear is great quality piano sound. None of that stuff you claim to hear. And I have picked up looping in other digital pianos, and the tinny digital sound to more or less of a degree as well.

The organ is nice, the Rhodes are poor, the pianos are a bad joke... sold my 5D and never looked back
