    I got through approximately 140 shots over the span 2 months on 1 battery and the exposures were good. Highly recommend it!

      Wow, that's fab! The one thing I didn't say is about the actual longer term battery life so that seems great

    Well, now I HAVE TO buy one for me hahaha! I was considering buying one, now that my local camera shop got some and your video convinced me :)

    Thanks for the review. I'm going to be ordering one based on your video. I have some older cameras without light meters and this is going to help so much instead of using Sunny 16 and missing some shots. Groovy!

    Great 'first thought,' and yes, the first time is always funnier! Also, excellent shots and any shoe-mounted meter on the market it a good thing! Love the shot of the old walls that the modern building "Bush Inn" are just built around.

      Thanks!! Yeah love the convenience of the shoe mount and made it much faster! That was such a cool place to shoot around

    Black gaffer tape (used on studio sets) leaves no residue and a small piece will hold the meter in the cold shoe.

    Thanks for the nice review. I bought it too, but haven’t tried it yet. Good to hear, that the readings are accurate. Definitely perfect for old cameras without light meters.

    I recently got one of the Reflx Labs meters to go with my Canon VT. Previously I used a Reveni Labs meter and before that my phone. I decided to replace the Reveni with the Reflx because the former ate batteries and the shoe mount was so loose, I had to slip a piece of thin cardboard between the shoe and meter. The phone worked well, but I hated juggling the two.
    As for the Reflx, I haven't yet finished a roll of film, but in the field, it seems to work ok. One quirk is that when you take a reading, then change the aperture (or shutter speed if you're set to shutter priority), you need to take another reading to update the output. The Reveni didn't require that extra step. Not a major issue, just one to be aware of. I do like how it blends in with the shape of the camera more than the Reveni, which looked like a lump on top of the camera. Purely aesthetics, but it's yet another differentiator. Not being illuminated like the Reveni could be a problem in lower light situations (like in the woods or at dusk), but I'll have to wait to see if that's actually a problem. The larger buttons of the Reflx are also a nice "improvement" as the Reveni buttons were tiny and fiddly. Overall, its quirks aren't showstoppers if the output is good.

      You mean that the meter doesn’t update the corresponding aperture value when you change the shutter lets say in shutter priority mode?

    I spent a while with all the iPhone apps and even carrying a Minolta meter around.. So then did a deep dive search for a meter to clip onto my Leica iiiF... This one is the smallest of the bunch and the cheapest... I should say least expensive.. I bought my one pretty much as soon as they appeared on the market.. and could not be happier.. The "chrome" version is a very close match to the Leica and it looks like it was almost made for the camera. So tiny.. Totally recommend it..

    I bought one a couple of months ago and like it so far, although the buttons are a little small for my fat fingers. It's an affordable backup to my Voigtlander VCII which I've had forever, but now I'm afraid of losing because they cost so much. Also, Reflx Lab film comes in at a little below comparable emulsions from other companies and come in those cool aluminum canisters.

      @Eclectachrome  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally hear ya on the buttons! Yeah it's a good cheaper backup or something you don't have to worry too much about and yes Reflx Lab has done some pretty cool things for the film community!

      Put a tiny piece of gaffer tape at the end of the camera shoe - to hold the meter on!
      I do so with Voigtlander viewfinders…

    With the cold shoe accessories if they feel loose, I just take a small flat head screw driver and small hammer and lightly tap the slides to crimp them a bit to tighten things up. If you go too far use the same screw driver to just pry them up a bit.

    Few things more cumbersome than pulling out a phone to take a meter reading. Refix Lab Light Meter looks terrific. Nice Zeiss Ikon Nettar. I’ve been looking for a Mamiya Six Automat for months but it’s difficult to find ones with clean lenses.

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was nice to have it there and take a break from the phone! The Nettar is awesome but yeah those folders often have tons of fungus in them, good luck though!

    But it is too expensive in UK if you can find it. EBay selling it for almost £200. Is it really batter than on Amazon? I wonder. I tried to buy from website for $100 plus shipping, but it seems they only take PayPal, which I will never use. Good review thanks.

    I just bought mine and arrived today, so im still confused about EV, if i want to overexposing my film then i must change the EV on +2 or +1 or nah? Is the EV result same as you changed the Shutter priority or Aperture? Thanks btw :3

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great you got one! Overexposed is up to +2 but it varies in degrees, so to overexpose a little, +1, a lot, do +2! It will still overexpose in shutter or aperture priority mode! Hope that helps?

    Remember, every light meter used in film cameras are dumb meters. You have to use them inteligently. Takes practice.
