Do you ever think you’re the only one making any sense? Or tried to reason with your partner with disastrous results? Do long, rambling answers drive you crazy? Or does your colleague’s abrasive manner get your back up?
You are not alone. After a disastrous meeting with a highly successful entrepreneur, who was genuinely convinced he was ‘surrounded by idiots’, communication expert and bestselling author, Thomas Erikson dedicated himself to understanding how people function and why we often struggle to connect with certain types of people.
Erikson will help you understand yourself better, hone communication and social skills, handle conflict with confidence, improve dynamics with your boss and team, and get the best out of the people you deal with and manage. Packed with ‘aha!’ and ‘oh no!’ moments, Surrounded by Idiots will help you understand and influence those around you, even people you currently think are beyond all comprehension.
And with a bit of luck you can also be confident that the idiot out there isn’t you!

thank you very much for taking the time to provide a detailed enough video. I just bought the book and I can't wait to read it. I'm basically a bit more green sprinkled with blue and having to deal every day with a dominant red is driving me crazy but I'm working on it.

It might have been just me, but i found the examples in the book to be too precise in terms of the behaviour of the color of person. Maybe the portions presented were hand picked or maybe they were all fake, but the more more I read this book the more I found it to be unbelievable

What if I have all colors? Since I'm an INTJ 8W7?

Simplified version of Myers-Briggs' (MBTI) "personalities"

    VERY narrow minded book.
If you look closely you can find parts of each color in every person.
The problem is there are many more aspects to people and while the model the books presents comes as simple and clean, the problem it is too simple and too clean to be true.
You can easily make very misguided decisions based on an oversimplified model. Human personalities are much much deeper than that.

Bad book, read it with a ton of salt. It can be beneficial for maybe high school age or maybe gymnasium age.. for 15yo's. Its a heavily simplification of personalities based on 2000 year old knowledge.

This book is very shallow, and should not be taken as some kind of scientific truth. You make the mistake of taking what he writes to be. I find it worrying that you are uncritically repeating what is in the book. People do not fit into one of four colour / personality types, which are stereotypes.

The purpose of this channel is not for me to give my opinion, but simply to relay the core lessons from each book so viewers can make their own decisions about what is right or wrong... totally up to you if you agree with the book or not but hope you enjoyed the video regardless!

I just started reading it and it says in the beginning of the book that a pure “insert color” is extremely rare if even possible and in most people a few colors dominate

Definitely doesn't apply to military personnel...Our behavior is based on our environment...Especially combat vs Garrison and different levels of our leadership...Civilians are converted once they join military operations..I'm sure personnel will disagree....However every one has their right to opinions...Thanks for the video..Mostly Red in senior leadership However we deeply care about the well being of our personnel..Take care of people and the rest will take care of itself...Reds deeply care what others think....especially during my 27 years in the military..Seen senior leaders break down even losing one Soldier under their leadership..
Not saying I'm right..just my opinion..
