It's definitely highly monetized, in every way you can imagine, but damnit it's absolutely satisfying. Once you get to where you have a ton of gear to play with, it's tons of fun
I started playing it in ‘21 and 20 relic weapons later, can say that it is indeed a lot of fun. But to get to where I am be prepared to invest lots of time and money. It says free to play, as do most games nowadays, but let’s be real, they don’t expect you to go very far without laying down some buckaroos (money lol). But if you are willing to be slightly insane like I was, then I will concur with this chap in the video that it is a lot of fun building crap with a massive arsenal of parts to work with (I grew up huge fan of Legos and destruction in general so this was right up my alley). But if you’re looking into it being more casual then also prepare to have yo ass handed to you by people, like me, who’ve been here way longer than they probably should. So despite its flaws and shortcomings I’d still rate this game overall around 8.5. 👍🏼
Enjoy this game. If you want to consistently win in pvp it can be viewed as pay to win, for your not going to have relic weapons as those who've invested money or years in obtaining them. Yet every match win or lose while doing enough damage to receive rewards you will get things for competing. Used wisely you can then use them to craft better items or sell for coin to buy them. Grind enough wisely you will become able to be better with better items and builds earning better rewards for crafting. It just seems overwhelming for your far behind the day 1 to even 1 year player starting out.
The newbie grind is real and hard. It takes forever to get your first relic weapon. Wouldn't recommend getting into now as it's heavily microtransation based or "game pass" to really get anything worthwhile.
lol its way easier to get things now vs before the battle pass give so much stuff to be able to lvl up your game and the beginner experience is really good they give a lot of stuff for free and there is a lot of free promotional pack. when i started we needed to get everything from scratch with no season pass to help, 13$ for a season pass its absolutely nothing
to be honestly when I was new I had no actual problems, I had a light, fast buggy with dual vectors. Once I got 1 then eventually 2 piercer I started winning more, I gained more knowledge on how to play, and more piercers and I did so well I kinda speed-ran to lvl 30 without realizing then I leveled into the scavengers to get to the steppenwolfs because I liked and still do like the military parts. I sit at a very comfortable spot between 5.6k-8.5k PS with a lot of teal weapons, a few purples, and 1 legendary(mandrake). tbh I didn't really have a large noob experience due to me "speed running" the game on accident, and while not spending a penny. and hey how is the noob life going? im honestly interested on how it is.
@@CARN07 I started casually playing the game a few months. It's not easy. Lower than 4k ps you get reckt by any decent melee build, which makes the heli game mode a welcome change. Apart from that it's just hard to get good structural parts. Anything I build falls apart too fast , and that's even when doing decently good builds considering what I have. But I just found it hard to find a build that 1, I liked, and 2, performed decently well. I tried doing a four falcon drone build and just sneaking up to support allies and backstab, but the drones were constantly shot down in three seconds. Machine guns it just seems never do enough damage. Autocannons get shot off too easy. Cannon shots are hard to land without inflicting self damage like to many canon melee style builds feel. It's hard just to find that happy medium where you do well but also have fun. I kinda found something that worked with dual wasp rockets on a growl, six wheels, just support and strike them with high explosive rockets barrage. That actually does ok for my playstyle. But Gaining resources feels like takes forever. The daily challenges are meant to help with that, but are often requiring wins with different weapons, like shot guns or machine guns for which I can't put together a decent build that I actually can win with. So the daily challenges take 5 matches to really complete a two win challenge. So idk. Im not a fan of the grind in this game. It's overbearing on new players who are trying to figure out what build they like and pair it with a build that works all while upgrading everything. Also, I never got a tutorial or anything on merging to upgrade parts. I didn't even know that was a game function until I watched a few jb rider videos. I have engineer level 18 or something and all the start factions to level 3-4 with nomads being level 6.
To correct him higher rank gameplay you can get massive imbalance with one team having all the best players and gear score. So bad you can see a team get completely wiped out in under 2 minutes from start of match. Lower rank gameplay is better but you still can get lobbies full of trash builds.

I would definitely binge as many tutorials as you can find for this game, especially if you want to play without spending money.

It is a great game. It is grindy. But not nearly as grindy as people say. I have been playing for 5 or 6 years.

@@Deimos_Eris as a less then 4k power score newbie, I fully disagree.

You can have fun without relics. Ive owned relics but dont own any relics. Not impressed.
