There’s a polyglot, Alexander Arguelles iirc, who knows over 50 languages. He moved to Korea because he considered Korean the hardest language to learn, a position he still maintains. Last time I checked, the US State department ranked it in a category of its own for difficulty.
That last one about anime is all you. I still think that’s cool even understanding how it sounds. Also, Shounen isn’t the only genre. The voice acting is actually very fitting in anime like Non Non Biyori.
That will probably not happen, english is my 2nd language and when I watch or play video game with English dub. It does not affect me like native speakers
It won't hit the same because by the time that you learn Japanese enough to watch it without subtitles, you will be old and be questioning why you spent so much of your life (several thousand hours) for the sake of a cartoon.

I am still learning the basics, thsi video wasnt very motivating but ill continue trying to learn it. I think that most of japanese people are amazing and nice, I am not only learning japanese for anime but also for gaming and hobby reasons
As for the last point, understanding anime actually makes it easier for me (I’m Chinese American, I don’t speak Japanese AND I DONT CLAIM TO, HOWEVER, I’ve learned to audibly recognize certain basic adjectives and phrases) Even though subtitles have made me read faster, understanding more Japanese means I have less need to read so I can appreciate the visuals AND I get the pleasure of noting the differences in the way the characters talk, like if they have a very polite or casual or amusing or haughty way of speaking
Fun fact: The Italian language is supposed to die because english is like the second language for most of gen z But when there's an english verb that we learned usually thanks to gaming, we are used to add the verbal coniugatuon "are" Here's some examples: Drop: Droppare Kill: Killare Farm: Farmare Nerf: Nerfare Screenshot: Screennare Shot: Shottare Clip: Clippare
“Japanese will be a dead language because of declining birth rate” Well i’ll just stop learning Korean right now because Korea has Japan beat when it comes to declining birth rates. I wonder which will go extinct first. Sad.
That reminds me of when I first learned English and most of the English songs I liked before got worse, once I understood the lyrics. That's actually the reason I decided to not learn Japanese :')

Most of teenagers wanna learn japanese just because of animes. I'm not going to lie. When I was 15 to 17 years old, my motivation to learn the language was just that. But after a while, I got matured and I noticed that I wanted to learn japanese for 2 other reasons. Sure, learning japanese to watch anime without depeding on subtitles is good, but that just it isn't my focus. Since I liked cars so much since I was a kid and most of cars I like are from japan, that is the first reason. The second reason is that I have great interest in japanese women and maybe I intend to marry one someday. I'll try to be on a journey to learn japanese from the beginning.

Here's an advice for everyone, don't be lazy!
Seriously, consistency is key!
I'm learning Japanese , I'll write sushi すし , 寿司
If anime wasn't fun/cool after learning Japanese, Japan wouldn't be a country to watch most animes in the world
Japanese language isn’t dying, it has 110M native speakers and 97M speaking outside of Japan, but Japanese indigenous languages are dying, some that only the Native Tribes in Japan are speaking which are, Ainu, Hachijō, Amami, Kunigami, Okinawan, Miyako, Yaeyama, and Yonagun, which are spoken by the smaller islands that don’t have that much contact to normal Japan.
Hmm.... native Americans of Japan... 🤔💬... hmmm...
@@nihon.ni.sumitaifr... Wtf are native americans of japan? Are they native to the americas or to japan? Does this person think japan is part of the americas?
@@nihon.ni.sumitai Its similar to how the Americas have tribes, they have tribes aswell.
As a Japanese dying just doesn’t sound so nice. I love my language and find it beautiful😊
Dude, your so lucky. I was trying to read the Japanese comments and replies some people wrote. I couldn’t understand the kanji except for 2 and my WPM is 7💀
Wish me luck learning this language 😭
I am still gonna learn it for the fun of it
This guy doesn’t actually love Japan. Prob just learned cause of anime
That's how a lot of young westerners start lol. They're lucky if they find a pen pal.
That's ur opinion but for me I'm definitely happy that I learned it so I don't regret it at all.😅
British English is dying? As a British English person, I’m still here…
I think he's talking about old english.
Shakespeare thee and thou stuff.
Whites will be a minority on the island by 2060…
🤣
is it true that average british male start to lose their hair in their late 20s
I think you’re living proof that British English is dead, if you can’t understand sarcasm. Remember when the British were masters of it?
my Japanese family can not speak English so I’m trying to learn Japanese for them, even if it dies out, I won’t regret learning it
the Japanese language and culture is incredibly beautiful. It’s complexity is the reason I am studying it and enjoying it ❤️ It’s definitely hard and there are times I think i’ll never be able to master it, but then I remember, if I can learn THIS, with as difficult as it is, I can master any language. We keep going! 💕
@MilkyLore I don’t mind if it’s not useful. I’ve gone back to school 4 times now because I just really enjoy learning and challenging myself to accomplish new things ☺️
There’s a polyglot, Alexander Arguelles iirc, who knows over 50 languages. He moved to Korea because he considered Korean the hardest language to learn, a position he still maintains. Last time I checked, the US State department ranked it in a category of its own for difficulty.
Atleast he spit facts about anime
Real
jokes aside, i highly recommend learning toki pona.
o kama sona pona!
😂 The other language I studied before is Latin, so it’s ok.
That last one about anime is all you. I still think that’s cool even understanding how it sounds. Also, Shounen isn’t the only genre. The voice acting is actually very fitting in anime like Non Non Biyori.
I am actually worried that anime won’t hit the same once I learn and maybe it’ll all sound like dub to me. still want to learn tho
😂😂😂😂😂@@jinjurbreadman
@@jinjurbreadman nooo, you killed my motivation damnit 😭
As a japanese, in my opinion if its dying, then you must keep learning it
Japanese Language is honestly a Beautiful language, im thankful for Japanese Musics.
:> im Japanese
This video be like: Why I regret learning Japanese but the comments be like: Oh i never regret learning japanese.(btw i am also lesrning japanese rn and i also dont regret learning it😅)
I am still learning the basics, thsi video wasnt very motivating but ill continue trying to learn it. I think that most of japanese people are amazing and nice, I am not only learning japanese for anime but also for gaming and hobby reasons
just keep it up.. don't lose hope by a random hilarious video XD
are you still learning? I'm in the situation you described in this comment right now. learning basics and videos like this are demotivating
I don’t have a choice, he already took my family I can’t lose anyone else 😭
“Since I know japanese I can’t enjoy anime anymore”
Me: well I can understand what Anime say by subtitle but I still enjoy it
You don't even have to know Japanese to come to the third conclusion...
Well I am learning japanese just because I can
you should learn moldovan, just because you can
I like how everyone took this short way way too seriously. Like guys he's obviously joking 😭😭
As for the last point, understanding anime actually makes it easier for me (I’m Chinese American, I don’t speak Japanese AND I DONT CLAIM TO, HOWEVER, I’ve learned to audibly recognize certain basic adjectives and phrases)
Even though subtitles have made me read faster, understanding more Japanese means I have less need to read so I can appreciate the visuals
AND I get the pleasure of noting the differences in the way the characters talk, like if they have a very polite or casual or amusing or haughty way of speaking
Japanese is an attractive language bro☠️💀☠️
Welcome to the American side, and just blend in here, we want you all.
Lmao😂😂
*Ussr joins the chat *
Fun fact: The Italian language is supposed to die because english is like the second language for most of gen z
But when there's an english verb that we learned usually thanks to gaming, we are used to add the verbal coniugatuon "are"
Here's some examples:
Drop: Droppare
Kill: Killare
Farm: Farmare
Nerf: Nerfare
Screenshot: Screennare
Shot: Shottare
Clip: Clippare
“Japanese will be a dead language because of declining birth rate” Well i’ll just stop learning Korean right now because Korea has Japan beat when it comes to declining birth rates. I wonder which will go extinct first. Sad.
I wonder how much population will drop from now to 2050 in both Korea nad Japan. The situation doesn't seem to have a solution very soon
You got a point :joy:
The nice thing about a dying language is once you master it and it dies you now know a hidden language
Point 3 is something every weeb learns when he visits Japan.
That reminds me of when I first learned English and most of the English songs I liked before got worse, once I understood the lyrics.
That's actually the reason I decided to not learn Japanese :')
Man I just got into trying to learn Japanese and how im scared 😭
Haha, kind of true. Once I found the subtitles to some of my favorite vocaloid songs, I was like wtf is this xD
That's your opinion, I am doing a coding Job in Japan. I can easily socialize with my Japanese colleagues now and they were impressed by my Japanese skills. So I have never regretted it. Only one thing I can say, learning Japanese is not worth it if you have no any plan to visit Japan or getting any job there. Otherwise Japanese is very beautiful language.
If I didn't know Spanish I couldn't annunciation anything in Japanese it's definitely a tongue roll language
As a Puerto Rican, i can confirm this ^
Yeah knowing spanish helps a lot with pronouncation but still can't save you from the writing
I thought just in western japan you roll your tongue like in kansai dialect because in tokyo you don't from the speeches & vlogs i've heard
Oh no not the overthinking again
I can’t never get tired of anime
Anime should not be affected 💀
A true weeb would never regret learning Japanese even any other person would not regret learning Japanese. Japanese culture, language, people, technology, video games and anime all are amazing. I am an Indian and I love Japan. 日本は世界で一番素晴らしい 国だよ 🇮🇳♥️🇯🇵
Without depeding on legend
@@neoselket562 legend is similar to "legenda" in Portuguese, which means "subtitle". I think that's the reason for his mistake.
@@luscao8444 depeding
@@neoselket562 it happens
@@luscao8444 Thank you for correcting me. I haven't noticed it.
I'm not learning Japanese as my 3rd language cuz I need it, I'm doing it cuz I like it and think it is a beautiful language.
That's very offensive
It's also satire
me learning japanese to flex on my monolingual friends
i hate to admit that but yeah lol..
As a Turkish Native Speaker Turkish has a lot of ar*bic and Persian words and It ain't Universal except for using other State of Turk but when you go to Krygzistan and Kazakhistan they usually speak Russian. It's fate is worse than Japanese.
......why did you censor Arabic??
Damn, I just wanna learn it so I can go on an extended food trip eating the traditional foods of each prefecture 😅
and also enjoy talking to random people about various topics on the way.
so you dont like anime because you actually understand them, as someone who understand english i can see why this would be a problem
He... Is he having a regretful decision to the point that he is having a mental breakdown?... :O
excuses. just excuses
Spoken like a true monolingual beta
Today I will be learning Japanese because I want to go to Japan when I am older. I might live there just depends
Yea same!
me tooo

If a language is dying, i will try to male it life again
Actually, you should be proud of the second fact. If we lose a language, we lose the thought process, story and other stuff in the language that could help in many ways
