Wow, I honestly thought Mels brought it and that Rubix had to bring the heat come 2nd round to win ... wasn't sure that was enough for him to win, but all goody.
I can understand where you're coming from. Battling is big on performance and showcasing so you have to bring the hype movements, beatkills and cool concepts..... but you also need to show your ability in the fundamentals of Hip-hop dancing and the foundations. Rubix was good here but way more experimental. Hip-hop dancing is groove so Mels did really well. Mels second round was okay in the beginning.... butyeah she seemed to become stagnant in her movements. Probably gassed or ran out of idea idk. BUT Rubix second didn't start off good at all. He wasn't even dancing at first. Thats a big no-no. So in my opinion Mels won based off her ability to constantly dance throughout and using more Hip-hop elements. Rubix got the crowd favor and beatkills but that shouldn't be the deciding factor for judges. Just my opinion. Rubix has improved a lot since then. I haven't caught up with Mels but she probably has as well. She.just need to i crease her dance vocabulary and concepts.
@@tl03rizz19 I mean i'm not downing Mels at all, I was speaking specifically on this battle. Rubix overall had better rounds, there was build up and variety. I get you want to show off the fundamentals, but this also a battle competition, not a workshop. People don't want to be bored, at least I don't want to be. The music is often trash in these competitions, so i don't hold that against anyone ever, but yea Rubix showed the gap here IMO. Big ups to both of them though for sure.

You talk about actual battling... lol.... so we have to dance all the same to be in the game? I don't think so... rubix came with his tools i came with mine... i m still practising and will bored you the most longer as i can!

Mels was wayyyyyy too basic, too much grooving and not enough actual battling. Rubix's 1st round was his best, but he clearly won both rounds.
