Honestly like this better than the Wire/ 50 cent series. Kinda tired of seeing the gangsta, murder murder, kill kill show's. This one was more about the USER'S struggle's.
I went to a majority white high school. David Toma, the detective they based the tv series Baretta on, spoke at our school about his drug addiction. It was enough for me. He and the story of Karen Ann Quinlan scared me to death. I never tried anything although some of my frenemies tried to convince me. He spoke to the parents at night. I tried to get my parents to go. They wouldn't. I had 3 older brothers. They all were alcoholics or cocaine addicts. Two have passed away. David Toma got through to me. Some of my classmates were high as he was speaking. They started off smoking weed and graduated to crack. 😢
I read this twice. Your parents wouldn't go..that blows me away. It sounds like you had some additional challenges to not getting caught up, to say the least. Glad you made it through; good for you. That's an accomplishment you should be very proud of.

Taking them to these streets saying the chicken was just real good like they didn’t know. Thank god it was only a few years and I’m somewhat glad they were exposed to how HORRIBLE our lives could have been. We also have family in this area so they are familiar but it’s hard to not hurt my heart
Thanks for posting this series online. This is my favourite episode (so far)!
Even Fran’s brother was in the Wire, he was murdered during a drug deal. Everyone in this series ended up on my favorite show ever.
A lot of these actors played in the wire ...roles reversed
Even the undercover cop who busted Orlando was in the scene at the rec center dance...
Hungry is the funniest one of them all 😂😂😂
"you know that boy ran track in highschool"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🏃🏾♀️ 🏃🏾♀️ he be out lmao
🤣🤣😂😂😂
Hungry was the Fastest crackhead in the neighborhood lol…
37:00 “why hit the horse???” “shit do not make sense!!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao 😂
The casting is impeccable. Hell Bunchie and Fran look like sisters. Young Fran looks like older Fran. Well fucking done
This show is such a gem that not too many people even know about smfh
It has 1M views..
@@fb4543 you realize you could watch something multiple times and give it multiple views.... fucking gen z kids think they know something

Mannn the acting in this is IMPECCABLE! This Was Truly Before Its Time , This Show Crawled So The Wire Could Walk!!!!
7:25 There goes hungry, You know that boy ran track in high school.. 😭😭😭😭😭
Quan White I was geekin too hard dummy
Like beat his ass n when he finally get what he deserved a knife to kidney n heart
Love the classroom scene with Blue
When the lady at the treatment center says "If you brought a bigger knife, you'd probably have got in" she's the real life Fran who the actor Fran is portraying.
Never knew that. 💯💯
Never knew that wow
I just learned that from the Wire at 20 podcast. It makes it so much more intense when she’s refused the bed she thought she had because that really happened.
@@HyperLuminal I'm going to check out the podcast.
The real Fran boyd recently passed away as well 😢
❤❤❤ this was me and my mother from the age of 14 -47 years of age for me. She finally got clean and she died from the effects of the drugs right in front of my face 😢😢😢😢😢
I’m so sorry to hear that 🙏🏽
Damn, I am sorry for your loss.
47:01 Speech gave me chills, none of them could see the meaning but fran understood the message.
miss ella had a heart of gold, bless her and may she rest in peace
Wow never realized until now that the real Fran is the one who was at the front desk for the rehab center
sha Wavy the real Fran? Thats actually the real person that the other lady is playing?
Jerri S i guess that's what i was trying to say
sha Wavy yup showlll is
@@nekas5336 the entire show was based on real people...
Damn that's a low key spoiler. But wow that's cool
Rip Ms. Fran. She left this world clean and sober working a full time job and making good money and also helping her community while working. I'm going to miss her so bad😥😥
🙏🏽
Rochelle did you know the people in this movie? I am looking for a woman named Veronica. She claimed to have been in this. She grew up in Baltimore. I actually met her in rehab in Hagerstown, md two years ago. A beautiful kind hearted lady. I would really love to be able to see her. Talk to her. If you do know of her please let me know. I'm only on the third episode. Hopefully, maybe she might be in the credits and I can find her. She said at that time. Over two years ago that there were only one or two of the people left that was in this movie. I pray that she is doing well.
@@joystewart3315 The only people from the movie that I know are Tyreeka, and I knew DeAndre and Fran. Rip to them both. I don't know Veronica I hope one day you may find her♥️♥️♥️
@@rochelle2706 Thank you so much 💓.
@@joystewart3315 Yw♥️
37:50 Fran clearly said WE. Why bunchie talking about "you doing the same thing we doin" I cant stand her attitude
The real Fran was the receptionist!
@ 0l0
@ DeAndre was broth mozeone helper, tyreka was middle Secretary that opens the door for Prez I didn’t know blue was in the wire
@@bigcav925 right i cant think of who the real blue played in the wire plus i dont know his real name. But also who did fran boyd play? Someone says the receptionist, is it a different receptionist because tyreeka was the school receptionist.
@@josephcarney6900 she is receptionist on Corner. In season 3 during Hamsterdam episodes she is one of the nurses passing out condoms and stuff
@@josephcarney6900 also George Epps is Blue’s name
"You play this game dont cry when the game play you"
They real nail the ‘real documentary’ interview segments on this
54:12 it's sad that only DeAndre was shocked to see her comeback. Everyone else was expecting her to fail.
The real fran is the lady behind the desk at 52:00
They actually want her to fail just because they don’t have the willpower to stop and live a regular life
Never heard of this glad I stumbled on it can’t stop watching
This was and is the best show to ever play on HBO
I wanted to cry 😢 when they turned Fran around
Not gonna lie I shedded a tear
@@quisowarner5811 why that's fucked and your profile picture look likes her
@@overall33 shut up
@@quisowarner5811 hahahahhahahahah
@@quisowarner5811 Yeah me too. That feeling you get when you just wanna stop and start a new chapter but you don't know how. If you found that relatable then you can call me Fran..
Lady playing fran is just great
De'Andre is a damn excellent actor.
This is such a difficult watch. My heart was just sinking the whole time.
its so heartbreaking to see fran trying to get clean but there is no place for her
WOW! I ACCIDENTALLY CAME ACROSS THIS SERIES TODAY, AND IT'S ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. THE ACTING IS ON POINT. I'M HOOKED ON IT ALREADY....

I remember this show, it reminds me of Philadelphia and how there drug area is... These actor should all get a big awards for such a wonderful acting.
Baltimore and Philadelphia are twins.
@@IshtarLinqu Agreed
Philadelphia looks even worse than this, and most of them seem to be white there
This is the best thing I have watched for years... Very informative piece
I love this series! Thank you for the upload.
One thing I never take granted for is my momma, I support for everything
IV been to hickey an boys village an the learning center in Annapolis as well its weird seeing this on TV an i really lived it.all this is real life baltimore

Good how some the actors stayed on and had different characters in the wire.. Lester freamon...Orlando...prop joe..carcetti's assistant..senator Daniels and a few others.. Don't make them like this no more.. gotta love TH-cam👌🏾
Fran was the coroners assistant on csi
Its crazy I watched this show when it came out and looking at it now I'm like wow so many people on here that were on the wire
Lieutenant Daniels
Even bit roles, the one kid at 20 minutes is the undercover fed that busts Orlando.
Being from Baltimore, this was so on spot even in my own personal life dealing with a drug addicted father..
The acting on this show is amazing!
Who watching cause yo addicted

You won't lagh when it kicks you n face you family will make hard decision of in plugging you . If you live you wish you got unplugged cause be fucking inveld vegetable .
People's hearts still show through all the madness. Getting beat up because you stole the stash is one thing but getting hit just for being a horse is out of line.😀
When you need a cigarette that's when it seems like no one smokes. All that changes when you actually have a packet
One of the best shows no lie. You can tell these actors have been through these situations as well. Bravo love this show 👍
